PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission (EC) has disbursed RM100,000 to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Segamat as part of the 2025 MADANI Adopted School programme. The initiative, launched nationally by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on June 20, aims to elevate education quality and inclusivity. EC secretary Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus stated that the funding will modernise learning facilities and support academic and personal growth. 'This programme strengthens our commitment to fostering a competitive, knowledgeable, and ethical future generation,' he said. The allocation follows discussions in May between the school, Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG), and EC, focusing on infrastructure, ICT, and teacher-student development. Approved initiatives include curriculum enhancements for SPM and STPM students, STEM programmes (RM31,000), leadership camps (RM12,000), teacher training (RM5,000), and ICT upgrades like interactive whiteboards and tablets (RM52,000). The mock cheque was handed over to SMKA Segamat principal Ustaz Mohd Salleh Mohd Noor during a ceremony attended by school representatives, EC officials, and Johor Education Department officers. - Bernama

EC Channels RM100,000 To SMKA Segamat Under MADANI Adopted School Programme
PUTRAJAYA, July 30 (Bernama) -- The Election Commission (EC) today presented an allocation of RM100,000 to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Segamat, Johor, under the 2025 MADANI Adopted School programme. Its secretary, Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus said the programme was implemented following its national-level launch by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on June 20. He said the programme would serve as a catalyst for enhancing the delivery of quality, inclusive and progressive education, in line with the government's aspiration to nurture a future generation that is competitive, knowledgeable and morally upright. 'Through the allocation channelled, students and educators will not only benefit from learning facilities that are more modern and interactive, they will also have the opportunity to improve academic performance and personal development. 'At the same time, the implementation of the adopted school programme reflects the EC's social responsibility and our commitment to collaborate with various parties in developing a sustainable and holistic national education ecosystem,' he said in a statement here today. Khairul Shahril said the school and representatives from the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) had presented various requirements in terms of physical infrastructure, ICT facilities, and the development of both teachers and students during a meeting with the EC in May. Based on the allocation provided, the EC has approved several key initiatives covering four main components, including curriculum development through the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) academic programmes for students. Other components include the 'Towards STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)' programme with an allocation of RM31,000, and character and co-curricular development activities such as leadership camp and hadith appreciation programme totalling RM12,000. The allocation will also go towards teacher professionalism development through the digital in-service training programme amounting to RM5,000, as well as ICT needs, namely the provision of two interactive whiteboards for teaching and learning (PdP), and 50 tablets for students, totalling RM52,000.
