While Ostwal and his batting partner Siddhesh Veer are fixated on the ball in the deep, they ran straight into each other with such force that they both hit the ground in pain. This was the first goof-off in the sequence of events in a short span of time. The throw came in from the fielder in the deep to the wicketkeeper. Then a farcical series of events played out. First, the wicketkeeper, in a moment of brain fade, opted to throw the ball underarm to the bowler at the other end. This, despite the fact that he was standing in front of the batter's stumps and needed just to turn around and whip the bails off. At this point, both batters were still on the floor recovering from the blow, right in the middle of the 22-yard strip.
