Barcelona Free Up €12 million From Players' Departures

Morocco World6 days ago
Barcelona have saved close to €12 million in Financial Fair Play (FFP) terms following the departures of Pablo Torre and Ansu Fati.
The Catalan club confirmed Torre's permanent transfer to RCD Mallorca for €5 million, while Ansu Fati joined AS Monaco on loan. Both moves form part of the club's wider efforts to meet La Liga's 1:1 spending rule, allowing clubs to spend €1 for every €1 they generate.
According to Mundo Deportivo , Torre's sale provided relief of €3.5 million, factoring in both the transfer fee and the wages freed up. Fati's loan deal saved the club €8 million, with Monaco set to cover 50% of his €9.4 million salary.
Barcelona continue to offload players not included in Hansi Flick's plans as they aim to improve their finances and strengthen their squad under FFP regulations.

Rashford Arrives in Barcelona Ahead of Season-Long Loan

Marcus Rashford landed in Barcelona on Sunday, marking the early stages of a season-long loan move from Manchester United. The 27-year-old, a product of United's youth academy, rose swiftly through the ranks to become a key player by 2016. However, after a disappointing spell in a faltering United side last season, Rashford was loaned to Aston Villa in January to regain form and playing time. 🚨| BREAKING : Rashford has now LANDED in Barcelona. — forblaugrana (@forblaugrana) July 20, 2025 Barcelona are set to fly to Asia on Thursday for their pre-season tour. Coach Hansi Flick was insistent on having Rashford with the squad before departure, to help him settle in ahead of the new season in August. Reports suggest the deal includes a €30 million option to buy. The paperwork has been finalised, and Rashford is now officially part of the Catalan club's plans. 'They'll probably end up getting Rashford on a one-year loan and sell him as the biggest thing since Messi,' said football analyst Jan Aage Fjørtoft on ESPN FC . 'I've seen this before with Bayern—they need a big name.' He added: 'Rashford was fantastic at Aston Villa.' Reactions among fans remain divided. One commented: 'A player like Rashford is worth €60–80 million, but the chaos at United post-Ferguson has seen players lose value in record time.' Another hailed the move: 'This is the best possible deal that could have happened.' And a third added: 'Rashford took a 15% pay cut just to play for the best club in the world.' Why Is Eliesse Ben Seghir Wearing a Mask?

AS Monaco's Eliesse Ben Seghir has drawn attention during pre-season matches for wearing a protective mask on his face. The 20-year-old Moroccan recently underwent minor nasal surgery to fix a long-standing deviated septum, according to L'Équipe . While the issue wasn't career-threatening, it had been affecting his breathing and match stamina for some time. 🎭🇲🇦 On connaît la raison du port du masque d'Eliesse Ben Seghir ! Il traînait un soucis au nez depuis un moment; il a alors procédé à une petite opération, rien de grave. 🗞️ @Abdel_hamed6 — Lig'ASM 🇲🇨 (@LigASM_) July 15, 2025 The operation took place during the off-season, and Ben Seghir is now wearing a custom protective mask to shield the healing area from impact during games. Unlike Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who wears his mask permanently, Ben Seghir's is only temporary. Though the mask may slightly affect peripheral vision or certain technical movements, the midfielder has proven he can adapt. He missed just four matches last season, featuring in 49 games, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. Tags: eliesse ben seghirligue 1Monaco

Barcelona Break Record with Lamine Yamal's New No.10

Barcelona have recorded unprecedented shirt sales following Lamine Yamal's promotion to the iconic No.10 jersey. In just 48 hours, nearly 70,000 shirts were sold worldwide, generating an estimated €10 million in revenue. It is the highest-selling shirt in the club's history, according to figures from official stores. The kids' version costs €114.99, while the adult shirt is priced at €134.99. A pro version, identical to the one worn by Yamal himself, is sold for €184.99. One store employee described the demand as 'absolute madness,' citing over 400 units sold at a single outlet within two days. Yamal, who recently turned 18 with a controversial birthday party, has signed a new contract running until 2031 – with a reported salary of €20 million per season. The club is positioning him as the face of its future, both on and off the pitch. Barcelona sees the Spanish international as the successor to Lionel Messi, not only in shirt number but also in global appeal. His shirt has already reached 170 countries. The decision to entrust Lamine Yamal, who used to wear No. 19, with the No. 10 jersey is a profound statement of FC Barcelona's belief in the young winger. This number is synonymous with footballing Barça legends such as Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, and Diego Maradona. Tags: FC Barcelonalamine yamal
