Football Italia can reveal that Fiorentina have set their sights on 23-year-old centre-back Viti, who spent the 2024-25 season on loan with Empoli from parent club Nice.

Viti came through the Empoli youth ranks before moving to France in a €13m deal in 2022. He has since returned to Italy for two separate loan spells with Sassuolo in 2023-24 and with boyhood side Empoli in 2024-25.

While Empoli had an option to buy clause included in their loan deal for the season just gone, that will not be activated following the club's relegation to Serie B.
Fiorentina have a concrete interest in picking up Viti in the summer transfer window, and could potentially go all the way to finding an agreement with Nice.
The former Italy U21 international has two years remaining on his current contract with Nice, which runs until the summer of 2027.
Fiorentina, who have a deal in place for Fazzini, also from Empoli, are understood to be focused on quality young players heading into the summer transfer window.

West Ham to sign free agent Callum Wilson on one-year deal

West Ham are set to sign Callum Wilson on a free transfer. The 33-year-old, who has already completed a medical, has agreed a one-year contract with a heavily incentive-based salary. The striker will join the squad upon their return from their pre-season tour of the United States, where they are contesting the Premier League Summer Series. Wilson endured another injury-hit season at Newcastle last year, starting just two Premier League games. The former Bournemouth hitman suffered back and hamstring injuries and failed to find the net once in the league for the first time in his professional career. West Ham were in the market for a striker this summer and identified Wilson, who has scored 88 Premier League goals, as a Premier League-proven option up top. Wilson becomes West Ham's third signing of the window after the arrivals of El Hadji Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters. Michail Antonio last month scored twice on his first start his horror car crash in December 2024. The 35-year-old was named in the West Ham Under-21s starting XI to face Boreham Wood and scored twice in the first 20 minutes.

Inter Milan Target Expected Back In Training For Atalanta This Week As Transfer Saga Takes Bitter Turn

Ademola Lookman is expected back in training for Atalanta this week as the transfer saga linking him to Inter Milan grows increasingly bitter. This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nigerian international should be back in training Monday or Tuesday. At the moment, Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is on the sidelines with a calf injury. The 27-year-old has therefore not been part of the team that travelled to Germany to face RB Leipzig in a friendly match yesterday. However, the timing of this injury has meant that Lookman has been out of action whilst Inter are reportedly negotiating to sign him from Atalanta. It is no secret that the former Fulham and RB Leipzig forward wants to join the Nerazzurri. (Photo by) Yesterday, Atalanta reportedly rejected a second offer from Inter for Lookman. And that has seen the transfer saga take a particularly bitter turn. That is the case for Atalanta, who appear reluctant to sell Lookman. And for Inter, who are hitting major roadblocks in a deal they were hoping to wrap up quickly. But in particular, Lookman reacted furiously to yesterday's developments. The 27-year-old removed all traces of Atalanta from his Instagram account. This was not exactly a subtle gesture. The Nigerian was telling Atalanta that he does not intend to play for them anymore. He is trying to force their hand and get his move to Inter. However, Lookman has not kicked up a fuss directly with Atalanta. On the other hand, things could come to a head soon. La Dea expect Lookman back in training by Monday or Tuesday as he recovers from his calf injury. And this could be more than a little bit awkward, considering that the player has made crystal clear that he wants to leave.

Bears QB Caleb Williams detailed recent teaching moment from Ben Johnson

The Chicago Bears hired head coach Ben Johnson to get the franchise back to its winning ways. But he was also brought in to maximize quarterback Caleb Williams' potential. We're still in the pre-season phase of Year 1, but Johnson's already had an impact on the second-year quarterback, who's still learning his way in the NFL. During a recent appearance on ESPN 1000's "Waddle & Silvy," Williams discussed a teaching moment from the first-time head coach. Williams talked about a scenario during practice where he had the offense driving down the field, but the headset inside of his helmet went out. He admitted that it frustrated him. According to Williams, Johnson went up to him and talked to him about always having two or three plays in mind, just in case something like this happens. A franchise quarterback can't be getting frustrated. Otherwise, he will fold when things get hard. Williams believes that Johnson helped him avoid losing sight of his goal in this situation. "We were marching down the field and the headset starting going out on me and I got kind of frustrated," Williams said. "Ben came over to me after and he was like 'have a few plays in mind if that ever happens.' That's more of accountability to me and to this team and having a few plays that if the clock's running down, headset goes out or it's spiking or something - you can't hear the play call - it's a have a few plays, go out there and don't go out there palms up and complain and things like that. Keep going." The headset going out or being unable to communicate well in a loud road building can happen in the NFL. The best quarterbacks are ready for anything, even the most chaotic or stressful situations. Johnson will help Williams get there. This story is one of many examples.
