Syria and Turkey have signed a memorandum of understanding to resume automobile traffic between their territories, marking a significant step toward restoring economic ties and facilitating the movement of goods across their shared border.
According to the General Directorate of Land and Sea Ports of Syria, the agreement, signed with the Turkish Ministry of Transport, aims to simplify customs processes, ease transit operations, and reinstate road transportation based on the 2004 bilateral framework.
The announcement, broadcast on Syria's state-run Al-Ikhbaria television, signals a renewed effort to normalize logistical and commercial exchanges between the two nations after years of strained relations due to regional conflicts.
The memorandum

a coordinated strategy to streamline the flow of trucks and goods between Syria and Turkey, reinforcing both countries' aspirations to revitalize trade routes and economic cooperation.

Rana Atef The Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate in Cairo mourned the death of 19 people in the latest tragic accident that took place near Monufia. The Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate said in its statement: "The Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate of Egypt extends its heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to the families of the 19 girls who tragically passed away in a painful accident on the regional road in Monufia." It added, "We ask Almighty God to grant the girls His vast mercy, to welcome them into His spacious paradise, and to bestow patience and solace upon their families." A few days ago, a heavy truck and a microbus collided on a highway road near Monufia, killing 19 people.
