Liam Gallagher 'is being a total professional' on Oasis tour

Perth Now2 days ago
Liam Gallagher is "laser-focused" on the Oasis comeback concerts.
The 52-year-old rock star has reunited with his brother Noel for the long-awaited Oasis reunion tour, and Liam has been a "total professional" in his approach to the shows.
A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "Liam arrives 45 minutes before he goes on stage and leaves immediately afterwards.
"At Cardiff he had a car driven into the stadium to take him back to his hotel immediately. Liam is being a total professional and is laser-focused on giving Oasis fans the best show he can."
Liam is well-known for his outspoken personality, but the insider suggested he's matured since Oasis split back in 2009.
The source said: "It's incredible to see how well behaved he is being. It's like he's properly grown up now."
Noel and Liam's mother, Peggy, recently revealed that she was the "instigator" of their reconciliation.
Peggy urged her sons to put their differences aside - but she couldn't have made them do anything they didn't want to do.
Speaking to Ireland's Mail on Sunday newspaper, she explained: "I was the instigator, yes. But sure, wasn't it always going to happen at some time or other?
"It was their choice, of course.
"Look you can't force them to do things they don't want to do.
"You just have to say, 'Get on with it' and I said that."
Peggy is thrilled that her warring sons have finally made up.
She said: "It's great, because nobody wants their kids falling out, do they?"
Peggy also revealed that she was looking forward to watching her sons in action in Dublin.
Peggy actually intends to reunite with some other members of her family, including her sister, at the Dublin show.
She shared: "I'm hoping to get to the Oasis concert in Dublin in August if I can hobble around. That's my plan anyway ... it will be great.
"I know the Irish fans are thrilled about it. There's great excitement in Ireland about the reunion tour and it will be lovely to see family there, also my sister Kathleen. I am really looking forward to the Dublin one."

‘F**k you': Johnny Depp's angry response to getting fired from Harry Potter franchise

Don't miss out on the headlines from Movies. Followed categories will be added to My News. Johnny Depp has broken his silence on being pushed out of the Fantastic Beasts franchise. During an interview with The Telegraph published Saturday, July 5, the star opened up about being recast in the Harry Potter spin-off series five years ago. 'They said we'd like you to resign,' Depp, 62, explained. 'But what was really in my head was they wanted me to retire.' Depp, who portrayed the character Gellert Grindelwald in the first and second Fantastic Beasts films, announced that he was resigning from the franchise in November 2020. His announcement came shortly after he lost a libel case against The Sun newspaper connected to a 2018 story calling him a 'wife-beater' while still married to Amber Heard. Johnny Depp. MORE: 8 things you didn't know you could be fired for 'I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request,' the Pirates of the Caribbean star said at the time. But when asked for a response to being recast over the weekend, Depp had a more pointed reply. 'F–k you,' he said. 'There's far too many of me to kill. If you think you can hurt me more than I've already been hurt, you're gravely mistaken.' After portraying Grindelwald at the end of 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Depp returned to the role for the 2018 sequel, The Crimes of Grindelwald. Then, following his resignation from the role in 2020, Depp was replaced by Mads Mikkelsen, 59, for 2022's The Secrets of Dumbledore. Besides Depp, the franchise also starred Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and Jude Law as a younger Albus Dumbledore. Despite emerging largely victorious from the defamation trial against ex-wife Heard, 39, in 2022, Depp has mostly stayed away from the big screen. His last live-action role, which was as Louis XV in the French film Jeanne du Barry, was in 2023. Johnny Depp in a scene from the movie Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald . Depp stepped out at The Curzon Mayfair in London on Tuesday, July 8, for the red carpet premiere of Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness. Modi, which stars Al Pacino and Riccardo Scamarcio, marks the first film Depp has directed since 1997's The Brave. 'Embarking on this cinematic journey as the director of Modi has been an incredibly fulfilling and transformative experience,' the actor said in a statement about the film last year. 'I would like to express my profound gratitude to the entire cast, crew and producers for their unwavering commitment and creativity,' he added. After Modi, Depp is set to return to the big screen in a starring role for the new film Day Drinker with Madelyn Cline, 27, and Penélope Cruz, 51. What do you think? Post a comment. Day Drinker will reportedly follow a private-yacht bartender (Cline) who encounters a mysterious guest (Depp), per Deadline. The pair then find themselves caught up with a criminal figure (Cruz) and connected in ways no one saw coming. Richard Ashcroft says 'all new fans welcome' after Oasis gig-goer Shazams The Verve's Bitter Sweet Symphony

Richard Ashcroft is welcoming "all new fans" after a gig-goer at Oasis' Cardiff gig was caught Shazaming The Verve's iconic hit Bitter Sweet Symphony. The former frontman of the Britpop group is among the opening acts on the Oasis Live '25 Tour, and he has reacted to the viral moment someone was seen using the Shazam app to identify the 1997 classic in the crowd. After night two of the Supersonic group's first tour in 16 years at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on July 5, Ashcroft penned on Instagram: "Day 2 thanks to everyone who came down and gave such beautiful support for my set. If you don't know it Shazam it, all new fans welcome! Love to LG for Cast No Shadow, what a tune! We move on Manchester. Are you ready? Music is Power RA." The 53-year-old musician said when his support slot was confirmed last year: "As a fan from day one I was buzzing for many reasons when the news of Oasis' return was announced. "I can say with no exaggeration that the songwriting talent of Noel and Liam's pure spirit as a lead singer helped to inspire me to create some of my best work. "It was the perfection of Live Forever that forced me to try and write my own. They dared to be great, made the dreams we had real and I will always remember those days with joy. "Now it's time to create more memories and I'm ready to bring it. See you next summer. Music is power." Meanwhile, Ashcroft is set to release a brand new solo album, Lovin' You, on October 3. It will be his first LP of all new material since 2018's Natural Rebel. The Lovin' You album opens with its recently released first single Lover, which interpolates Joan Armatrading's 1976 song Love And Affection. The single sets the standard for a record that finds Ashcroft at the height of his powers. The album spans the many facets of his sound, from his classic string-soaked acoustic balladry and anthemic indie-rock – through to flashes of Americana, soul and glitch electro beats. Its themes are intimate and personal, dominated by love, romance and affecting messages of support for those struggling with life's challenges.

Oasis eye return to No.1

Oasis are eyeing a return to the top of the Official Albums Chart, as their greatest hits collection Time Flies… 1994–2009 surges up the rankings following the launch of their long-awaited reunion tour. The Britpop legends opened the Oasis Live '25 Tour with a sold-out show in Cardiff last Friday night (05.07.25), and interest in their back catalogue couldn't be bigger. The singles compilation – first released in 2010 – is now on track to return to Number 1 for the first time since its debut week. What's more, the band's seminal second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? – originally released in 1995 – is climbing fast, set to leap 11 places to Number 3. Their 1994 debut Definitely Maybe isn't far behind either, is looking at a 22-place surge to land at Number 4. But Oasis face stiff competition for the top spot. Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter is just under 1,000 chart units behind Time Flies…, with her breakout album Short n' Sweet holding strong at Number 2 in the midweek update. Her recent performances at London's Hyde Park – part of the BST concert series – have helped propel the record back up the charts. With final positions confirmed on Friday, a chart showdown is looming between the Britpop icons and Gen Z's rising pop queen. Meanwhile, a new study has claimed Oasis earned a whopping £7 million from Spotify streams of Wonderwall alone. Casino comparison and analysis site La Planque Du Joueur conducted research and found that Wonderwall has earned £7,057,223 in streaming revenue, as of July 8, 2025. They used the average payout of $0.004 per stream to come to this conclusion, and Wonderwall has been streamed 2.3 billion times. Don't Look Back in Anger is the second highest earner with over 1.1 billion streams, generating £3,247,265 in revenue. Champagne Supernova and Stop Crying Your Heart Out are said to have earned them £1,449,431 and £1,378,028, respectively. The Top 10 songs - also including Married With Children, Live Forever, Stand By Me, She's Electric, Supersonic, and Slide Away - gave them a total of £16.8 million. Jean Morlec from La Planque Du Joueur commented: "These figures show that Oasis' music remains incredibly popular on streaming platforms, with Wonderwall standing out as one of the most streamed songs of its era. The band's top songs continue to generate substantial revenue more than 30 years after they were first released." "With the current reunion tour driving renewed interest in their music, we can expect these streaming numbers to climb even higher. Their back catalogue has become a valuable asset that continues to generate millions in revenue year after year."
