The teen opened up about having counselling in her new reality series dear diary Princess Andre 'wishes she had a happier childhood' as she opens up about Katie Price marriage split and 'dark times' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRINCESS Andre says she "wishes she had a happier childhood" as she opens up about mum Katie Price's marriage split. While Princess was too young to really remember her parents together, she has traumatic memories of the breakdown of Katie's third marriage to Kieran Hayler. In her new ITV2 series - The Princess Diaries - the teen opens up about her younger years and admits: "I did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then. "But I don't feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes. "I do wish, like, I could have had a more happier childhood. In the sense of like, I had so many things on my plate at a young age." She continued: "I wish sometimes that I wasn't like that and I could have actually had things in the back of my mind so young." Katie, 47, and Kieran were married from 2013 until 2018, when they split following his extramarital affair with Katie's best friend. Speaking to the camera, Princess said: "Obviously I had amazing times in my childhood, I have amazing memories from when I was younger with my mum and my dad, and I also have not so good memories of the time when my mum and Kieran split up, when I was like, 10 years old. "He was in our lives for like five years, so we got really close to him and we loved him. "He did a lot of stuff and when they split up, everything kind of went downhill. Emotional Peter Andre reveals strict rule for Princess and Junior "My mum, obviously being heartbroken, didn't deal with that in the best way, she went through a very, very dark time, which is understandable. "Which is hard for me because I was around adulty things that kids should never see and I think as well, when we needed our mum there, she wasn't emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on." Princess added how she would regularly come home from school and "get into bed and cry" over things people were saying or asking in the school ground relating to her famous mum. She added: "I would never go and speak to my dad about it because I obviously have always grown up with 'my mum and dad don't like each other' which is fair enough, they're not going to." I wouldn't say I'm fully, fully recovered from it Princess Andre Princess concluded: "I could speak about my childhood and be absolutely fine, but then once something sets me off and then I actually deep everything, I'm like 'Oh my God, like no'. "And then it makes me think that I'm still not over anything or still not really healed from what's happened. "I wouldn't say I'm fully, fully recovered from it but mum is such a different person and if you put her now to back then, she's genuinely really fixed herself." 6 Princess was close to Kieran and said things went 'downhill' for her mum after the messy split Credit: Getty - Contributor 6 Princess said she has had counselling for what she went through when she was younger Credit: Getty 6 The 18-year-old is super close to Katie and said her famous mum had 'fixed herself' in recent years Credit: Splash The Princess Diaries begins on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and will be available as a boxset drop on ITVX.

Insults are hurled, but the mention of Ruby's daughter Steph leads to her snapping and attacking Manpreet. Eventually it leads to them both being arrested for ABH, locked up for the night. But can the pair resolve things or has a new village feud been born? Elsewhere, and another feud seems to be simmering on. John Sugden decides to exact his next revenge against Robert, after seeing him speak with his ex Aaron Dingle, John's husband, in the café. Seeing them together leaves him jealous, and he decides to sabotage Robert's relationship with nephew Harry. When Harry keeps drumming, no doubt encouraged by his scheming uncle John, Robert ends up losing his temper and he snaps at Harry. Just as John heads to the house he walks in on Robert shouting at the youngster, and he feigns concern. A terrified Harry clings to a smug John, with him getting exactly what he wanted and Robert left distraught. Wasting no time in telling Aaron about what happened no doubt trying to make things worse, John relishes in talking down about him to his husband. But will Aaron give him the reaction he craves? Soon Charity learns she's pregnant, with Sarah thrilled, and she soon makes a big baby announcement in the Woolpack. Elsewhere, Vinny Dingle is still chatting to newcomer Mike as he continues to question his sexuality ahead of his wedding to Gabby Thomas. As their bond grows, Mike asks Vinny if he's gay but it's clear he's confused. Mike comforts Vinny who is grateful for the support, and later the pair agree to meet up again. When Gabby heads to an overnight spa trip, Vinny gets an urgent message from Mike who then shows up at his house. Revealing his partner has kicked him out, the pair talk and soon Mike hints at an attraction between them. Vinny denies it, but soon it seems there's more to the story when Mike turns on Vinny. It could well be that Mike is lying about who he is and his agenda. With Gabby heading home after thinking she's left her home behind, can she save her partner from Mike? There's more from the possible new romance for Belle Dingle and Kammy Hadiq. Nicola King persuades Belle to join some dating apps and when they come across Kammy's profile, Nicola swipes right. When Kammy learns it wasn't Belle's doing he masks his disappointment, and soon Cain is getting involved. He warms Kammy away from his sister, but a mortified Belle has a go at Cain for this while claiming she isn't interested. Lydia Dingle wonders if her sister-in-law is protesting a little too much though, so could Belle and Kammy give things a go? Finally next week, it's April's 16th birthday and things don't go as planned. April tells love interest Dylan that she wants to sleep with him and the pair head upstairs, only to be caught out by Mandy Dingle who sees them heading downstairs together. She wastes no time in telling April's father Marlon who is dismayed. Police Scotland overtime bill hits £85,000 per day
The figures show that £28.15 million was spent on overtime for officers in 2024/25, as well as an additional £3.4 million for other police staff. It is a combined 10% rise on the previous year but has dropped from 2022/23 when there was a major policing operation following the death of the Queen. There are growing concerns about this year's bill after President Donald Trump's recent visit to Scotland as well as the demands of events such as the sold-out Oasis run at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. SPF general secretary David Kennedy said: 'As demand on policing continues to increase – whether through major events, public safety operations, or everyday calls for service – there simply are not enough officers to meet the workload within normal working hours. 'The reality is that overtime is no longer a contingency – it has become a necessity to maintain even the most basic levels of public safety. This is unsustainable, both financially and in terms of officer wellbeing. 'Officers are regularly being asked to sacrifice their rest days, family time, and personal health to plug gaps caused by years of underinvestment in policing. 'We cannot continue to rely on a shrinking workforce to deliver a growing remit. 'The rising cost of overtime is not a budget management issue – it is a symptom of a wider crisis in police numbers that must be addressed urgently through meaningful investment in recruitment, retention, and support for serving officers.' The data was obtained by 1919 through a FOI request and showed that £42,689,162 was spent on officers' overtime in 2022/23 – the year the Queen died – falling to £25,305,080 a year later and rising again to £28,150,447 in the most recent financial year. Read More On top of that, overtime paid to staff totalled £11.24m and periods of sickness, maternity leave and annual leave not included. Scottish Labour justice spokesperson Pauline McNeill told 1919: 'These eyewatering figures lay bare the immense pressure Police Scotland is under. 'Police officer numbers have collapsed over recent years and big events have piled pressure onto remaining officers. 'There is no evidence that the Scottish Government is taking any serious steps to address this, therefore this is likely to continue. 'Increasing reliance on overtime is costing Police Scotland thousands of pounds a day and exhausting police officers. 'Police officers cannot keep being forced to go above and beyond to paper over the cracks of SNP failure – the [[SNP]] must work with Police Scotland to ensure it has the officers it needs to keep our communities safe.' Scottish Liberal Democrat justice spokesperson Liam McArthur added: '[[SNP]] ministers pushed through the creation of a single national force with the promise of significant cost savings which could be invested elsewhere in the service. 'Instead we have seen falling officer numbers, police counters closing and officers run ragged. 'The cases that officers are being called to attend are increasingly complex and time consuming. 'One solution we have proposed to provide mental health workers to work alongside the police and help people in need. 'Officers should not be asked to work beyond their limits day after day. 'After so many years of worsening conditions, it will be hard work for the Justice Secretary to win back trust and convince officers she is in their corner.' While recruitment and deployment are operational matters for the chief constable, a Scottish Government spokesperson said: 'We are investing a record £1.64 billion for policing this year, and our continued investment enabled Police Scotland to take on more recruits in the last financial year than at any time since 2013, with further intakes planned throughout 2025. 'Scotland continues to have more police officers per capita than England and Wales and recorded crime has fallen by more than half since 1991.'
