He directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for drinking water, electricity, and tenting at the venue, considering the hot and rainy weather. He emphasised that since both the chief ministers of Haryana and Delhi will be attending the rally, the venue should be given a grand and impressive look, with no shortcomings.

One such highlight will be the inauguration of the Maharaja Agrasen Bhavan in Julana, he added.
Captain Yogesh Bairagi, who contested the election from Julana town on a BJP seat and faced a defeat of 6,015 votes from Vinesh Phogat, said that all arrangements have been made for the event. BJP flays Oppn over bandh
Bhubaneswar: The BJP MP, Aparajita Sarangi, on Thursday criticised the Opposition for calling a Statewide bandh in Odisha, terming it an attempt to create political disturbance rather than providing constructive solutions in the wake of the self-immolation case. Speaking to the media, BJP national spokesperson Sarangi said, 'The death of a young student from FM (Autonomous) College on July 14 has deeply shocked us all. The government has responded to the situation within its constitutional and administrative framework. But instead of helping restore calm or suggesting positive solutions, the Congress and its allies are indulging in disruptive politics.' The Bhubaneswar MP said the Odisha government responded swiftly and responsibly to the incident. She highlighted that the government took complete responsibility for the girl's treatment. Sarangi also said that immediate disciplinary and legal action were taken against the accused faculty member, Samir Kumar Sahu, and the Principal of the College, Dillip Kumar Ghose, who were arrested and sent to jail. She condemned the demand for the resignation of Odisha's Higher Education Minister, calling it a diversionary tactic. 'Such behaviour is unacceptable. This is not the time for street politics but for serious self-reflection by these parties,' Sarangi added. Slamming the Congress, she said, 'The Congress was in power for 40 years, and the BJD has ruled for 24 years. What did they do to create a secure and enabling ecosystem for women? Why didn't they ensure women's safety then?' Sarangi further said the Opposition BJD and Congress have no moral authority to question a newly-formed government led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who took charge just over a year ago. Criticising the Opposition for 'politicising' the incident, she said, 'Both BJD and Congress are now polluting the environment by using this tragedy for political mileage. They failed to build a safe ecosystem during their regimes. It's time for them to introspect.' She concluded by expressing confidence in the BJP-led government's intent and capacity to ensure justice and improve women's safety across the State.

AAP bought phones beyond expenditure limit: Minister Ashish Sood
NEW DELHI: Amid allegations and counter allegations over the purchase of high-end mobile phones, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood said that the previous AAP government purchased government mobile phones more than the limit. Sood claimed that in 2013, the chief minister was allowed to get a mobile phone worth Rs 50,000 and the ministers Rs 45,000. He claimed that the AAP leaders had put pressure on the government to pay for the phones. Earlier, the AAP had alleged that the BJP government had approved the purchase of high-end mobile phones worth Rs 1.50–1.25 lakh each for the chief minister and cabinet ministers. AAP had said that if they (BJP) can approve expensive phones overnight, why not form a committee to debate which minister deserves which phone, how much the bill should be, and what is 'appropriate' for the CM? Why are committees only reserved for delaying public welfare?' To counter the allegation, Sood on Thursday gave a detailed account of the expensive phones purchased by four senior leaders of the previous government — Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Atishi Marlena, and Saurabh Bharadwaj.

Will probe alleged gutkha smuggling through Dahisar, Mulund: Minister
Mumbai: Food and drug administration minister Narhari Zirwal on Thursday said the government would conduct an investigation into alleged gutkha smuggling into the city through the Dahisar and Mulund toll nakas. The government will also consider invoking the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against those involved in the transportation and sale of gutkha, banned in Maharashtra since 2012, Zirwal told the legislative council. Narhari Zirwal (HT Photo) The issue was raised in the council by the BJP's Shrikant Bhartiya, who alleged gutkha was being sold openly across cities despite the ban. 'Gutkha is being smuggled from neighbouring states and its open sale shows failure of the FDA (food and drug administration),' Bhartiya said, demanding that licenses of shops found selling gutkha be cancelled. Leader of opposition in the council, Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Ambadas Danve, too alleged that gutkha smuggling was rampant and top officials from the police, FDA and local administration were involved in it. Gutkha worth ₹100 crore was smuggled into Maharashtra every day, alleged Danve – it was brought till the state border in large containers, then shifted into smaller vehicles for distribution. Danve also demanded stringent action against gutkha traders and dealers to curb the malpractice. In response, FDA minister Zirwal informed the council that between April 1 and May 31 this year, the FDA seized gutkha worth ₹3.20 crore, alongside 10 vehicles involved in gutkha transportation. 'This is a serious matter. Considering the ill effects of gutkha on health, we are thinking of imposing the MCOCA on gutkha dealers and traders for effective implementation of the gutkha ban. We will seek the opinion of the law and judiciary department regarding it,' said Zirwal. BJP MLC Praveen Darekar then alleged that gutkha was smuggled into the city through the Dahisar and Mulund toll nakas under political patronage. 'I complained about the matter to the local police, but no action was taken. Who are those political leaders supporting gutkha smuggling? The government must inquire into it,' said Darekar. Zirwal responded saying a probe would be ordered into alleged gutkha smuggling through Dahisar and Mulund entry points.
