Nvidia to resume H20 GPU chip sales to China, launches compliant model
Nvidia (NVDA) said it plans to resume sales of its H20 artificial intelligence chip to China, days after its CEO, who is visiting Beijing, met US President Donald Trump. Nvidia's AI chips have been a key focus of US export controls designed to keep the most advanced chips out of Chinese hands amid national security concerns, restrictions that the US-listed company said would cut its revenue by $15 billion. The world's most valuable firm is filing applications with the US government to resume sales to China of the H20 graphics processing unit (GPU), and expects to get the licenses soon, Nvidia said in a statement. 'The US government has assured NVIDIA that licenses will be granted, and NVIDIA hopes to start deliveries soon,' it said. Nvidia, which has criticized the export restrictions the Trump administration imposed in April that stopped it from selling its H20 chip in China, also said it has introduced a new model tailored to meet regulatory rules in the Chinese market. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The US government has expressed concern that the Chinese military could use AI chips to develop weapons. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is scheduled to hold a media briefing in Beijing on Wednesday when he attends a supply chain expo, his second visit to China after a trip in April where he stressed the importance of the Chinese market. 'The Chinese market is massive, dynamic, and highly innovative, and it's also home to many AI researchers. Therefore, it is indeed crucial for American companies to establish roots in the Chinese market,' Huang told Chinese state broadcaster CCTV on Tuesday. Nvidia has faced increased competition from Chinese tech giant Huawei and other makers of graphics processing units – the chips used to train artificial intelligence. But Chinese companies, including its big tech firms, still crave Nvidia chips due to the company's computing platform known as CUDA. Huang's visit is being closely watched in both China and the United States, where a bipartisan pair of senators last week sent a letter to the CEO asking him to abstain from meeting companies that are working with military or intelligence bodies. The senators also asked Huang to refrain from meeting with entities named on the United States' restricted export list. The move to resume sales of the H20 chips comes amid easing tensions between Washington and Beijing, with China relaxing controls on rare earth exports and the United States allowing chip design software services to resume in China. 'The uncertainties between the US and China remain high and despite a pause in H20's ban, Chinese companies will continue to diversify their options to better protect their supply chain integrity,' said He Hui, research director of semiconductors at Omdia. The H20 chip was developed specifically for the Chinese market after US export restrictions were imposed on national security grounds in late 2023. The AI chip was Nvidia's most powerful legally available product in China until it was effectively banned by Washington in April. The H20 ban forced Nvidia to write off $5.5 billion in inventories, and Huang told the Stratechery podcast earlier this year that the company also had to walk away from $15 billion in sales. Nvidia also announced the development of a new AI chip designed specifically for China, called the RTX Pro GPU. The company described the model as 'fully compliant' with US export controls and suitable for digital twin AI applications in sectors such as smart factories and logistics. In May, Reuters reported Nvidia was preparing to launch a new AI chip, based on the RTX Pro 6000D, in China at a significantly lower price point than the H20. The graphics processing unit would be part of Nvidia's latest generation Blackwell-architecture AI processors and was expected to be priced well below the H20 due to its weaker specifications and simpler manufacturing requirements, sources said. China generated $17 billion in revenue for Nvidia in the fiscal year ending January 26, accounting for 13% of the company's total sales, based on its latest annual report. Huang has consistently highlighted China as a critical market for Nvidia's growth.

John MacArthur, Grace Pastor Known for Unwavering Biblical Convictions, Dies at 86
John MacArthur, the longtime pastor of Grace Community Church and one of the most influential figures in American evangelicalism, has died at age 86. His death was confirmed Monday evening by his teaching ministry, Grace to You, just days after he was hospitalized with pneumonia. 'Our hearts are heavy, yet rejoicing, as we share the news that our beloved pastor and teacher John MacArthur has entered into the presence of the Savior. This evening, his faith became sight. He faithfully endured until his race was run,' Grace to You posted on X. MacArthur is survived by Patricia, his wife of more than 60 years, along with four married children — Matt, Marcy, Mark, and Melinda — and 15 grandchildren. 'It is already strange to live in a world without MacArthur's steady convictional presence,' wrote theologian Owen Strachan. 'Pray for his family, his church, and the many who mourn him. Rest in peace, lion of faith.' John Fullerton MacArthur Jr. was born June 19, 1939, in Los Angeles. A distant relative of Gen. Douglas MacArthur, he graduated from Azusa Pacific University and earned his Master of Divinity from Talbot Theological Seminary. In 1969, shortly after graduating, MacArthur became pastor-teacher at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. His verse-by-verse exposition of Scripture became the signature of his ministry. Under his leadership, the church's two Sunday morning services routinely filled the 3,500-seat sanctuary, and thousands participated in training and fellowship programs. MacArthur founded The Master's Seminary in 1986 to train men for pastoral ministry. He also served as president of The Master's University, a four-year Christian liberal arts school, beginning in 1985. He was best known to millions through his Grace to You media ministry, which he led as president and featured teacher. His sermons aired more than 1,000 times daily in English and Spanish, and all 3,000+ are freely available online. MacArthur authored nearly 400 books and study guides, including The Gospel According to Jesus, Strange Fire, Slave, and the MacArthur New Testament Commentary series. His MacArthur Study Bible, translated into over two dozen languages, remains a cornerstone of his ministry. Throughout his ministry, MacArthur remained known for his unapologetic commitment to Scripture — often taking stands that drew both praise and criticism. In 2013, he hosted the 'Strange Fire' conference and published a book by the same name: Strange Fire: The Danger of Offending the Holy Spirit with Counterfeit Worship. Both sharply critiqued aspects of the Charismatic movement, urging Christians to pursue doctrinal clarity and avoid what he described as counterfeit spiritual practices. The response was mixed. Some praised the boldness of his warnings, while others, including Rev. Samuel Rodriguez of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, criticized MacArthur's approach as divisive and overly broad In 2019, MacArthur famously challenged the idea of women in pastoral roles, emphasizing what he saw as the clear teaching of Scripture. His position drew strong responses from both supporters and critics, but he never wavered in his convictions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, MacArthur took a stand for religious liberty by reopening Grace Community Church in defiance of California's worship restrictions. 'Never before has the government invaded the territory that belongs only to the Lord Jesus Christ and told us we can't meet,' he told Fox News in 2020. MacArthur and the church ultimately prevailed in court, with California agreeing to an $800,000 settlement to resolve the case. MacArthur's health declined in recent years, including several hospitalizations and surgeries beginning in 2023. He briefly returned to the pulpit in late 2024 and shared a message of gratitude. 'God has purposes that we would've never been able to fulfill if we weren't put into some kind of stress,' he told his congregation at Thanksgiving. In one of his final public appearances, he addressed the 2025 Shepherds Conference by video. 'I realize I'm on the last lap,' he said. 'That takes on a new meaning when you know you're on the short end of the candle. I am all thanks and praise to God for everything He's allowed me to be a part of and everything He's accomplished by His Word in these years of ministry.'

'1000-Lb Sisters' Tammy Slaton Sets Sights On Her Dream Car After Reaching Weight Loss Goal
's taste in cars is definitely exquisite! The reality star is ready to hop behind the wheel after smashing her weight goals and getting a much-needed skin removal surgery earlier in the year. Tammy Slaton became a superstar after she began documenting her weight transformation on the "1000-Lb Sisters" reality show in 2020. Five years later, the TV star is in a much better place and eager to try new things. Although Tammy is nowhere close to being an ideal driver, she already has an eye on her dream car. In a recent podcast, she expressed her wish to get a classic Ford Mustang GT, lovingly describing it as a vintage stang. In the same podcast, Tammy admitted to being afraid of semi-trucks, which, according to her, cannot see other drivers on the blind side. Back to her decision to own a Mustang, the reality star knows her onions. Not only is Mustang a high-performance and horsepower car, but it also has a very spacious interior, adding to its comfort. As reported by Screenrant, the TV personality will not let her fear of semis overpower her desire to have a good time behind the wheels of her dream car. She admitted that at some point, she would eventually take driving lessons. Tammy's fear of driving does not end with the semi trucks. She shared on the Creative Chaos podcast that she once had a scary experience where she and the driver fought back sleep while on the road. According to her, she had to take one for the team and stay awake to help the driver despite not having the slightest idea of how to turn a steering wheel. Afraid of suffering the same fate a second time, the reality star decided to lay her curiosity about driving any car to rest, until now. She experienced another close shave with an auto accident when she drove a golf cart with her brother, Chris Combs. Initially, Tammy was elated to drive the cart, which was moving at a high speed. Not long after, the situation became dire as she found herself heading for a tree to avoid a more disastrous collision. The situation left her scarred, as it took her a while to get over it and regain composure. The 38-year-old and her friend recorded a collective weight loss of over 2k pounds, a significant progress that still left her battling some challenges. The Blast reported that the content creator admitted that the excess skin that came with shedding all the weight introduced some physical discomfort. She declared late last year, before her weight loss surgery, that she sometimes got rashes under her stomach that were prone to infections, and that was a source of worry to her. Aside from this, Tammy has a lot to be thankful for. The star shared that she was able to cross her legs without breaking a sweat and put on her shoes conveniently while sitting on the toilet. Tammy showed up on social media oozing confidence with the results of her plastic surgery, which, according to fans, transformed her entire appearance. The Blast shared that Tammy hard-launched her new look in a selfie with her significant other, Andrea. She also played around with several filters, trying out what she would look like in previous years and centuries. It took a whole lot of convincing for Tammy to go in for the surgery. According to her, she was skeptical about the procedure as she did not know what the outcome might be and the pain she might experience along the way. She acknowledged the physical difference she would experience and ultimately concluded it was for the best. "I'm going to look halfway normal from [the] face down. It's scary but rewarding at the same time," she shared. After three years of dating, Tammy proudly flaunted her engagement ring to Andrea Dalton on the podcast hosted by Hunter Ezell. She noted that their relationship was pretty private, with most of their time spent indoors. Not only did she get a ring, but Tammy also got a necklace with the inscription "Andrea." The engagement announcement comes months after she revealed that she was dating a woman on the TLC show. Andrea revealed that they met on a dating app and immediately connected, taking each day slowly and eventually ending up together. On her choice to keep the relationship away from her family at the time, Tammy declared: "I think I want to approach this relationship differently than I have in the past. So I haven't told my family because my family's gonna have something to say about it." Andrea is Tammy's first relationship since her husband, Caleb Willingham, passed away in July 2023. Rooting for Tammy Slaton to tick off everything on her bucket list.
