Highly-placed sources claimed that the Uttar Pradesh government was given a special mention by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the recent Central Zonal Council meeting in Varanasi for 'Operation Conviction' and the rate at which the cases were being pursued by the UP government.

He appreciated them for preserving Indian cultural ethos while integrating into Zimbabwean society.' Earlier in the day, he met Evelyn Ndlovu, Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife of Zimbabwe in Harare. In a post on X, he said, 'Pleased to meet HE Ms. Evelyn Ndlovu, Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife of Zimbabwe in Harare. We agreed to collaborate to conserve wildlife and the environment through the exchange of best practices, and also work together to mitigate the challenges of climate change.' The Indian Embassy in Zimbabwe said, 'Hon. MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh met with Hon. Ms. Evelyn Ndlovu, Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife of Zimbabwe in Harare. They discussed to work on conserving wildlife and the environment through the exchange of best practices.' Singh paid courtesy call on Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, where they discussed ways to deepen bilateral relations. President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa met with India's visiting Minister of State for External Affairs, Hon. BARGARH: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday described eminent Koshali poet Haldhar Nag as 'a shining jewel of India and a symbol of Odisha's identity, emotion, and expression'. Addressing a two-day national seminar titled 'Haldhar - Sajan Aar Darshan,' he said the poet's contribution to enriching Sambalpuri language and literature is unparalleled and continues to inspire generations. Organised jointly by Abhimanyu Sahitya Sansad, Ghens, and Krishna Vikash Group of Institutions, Bargarh, the seminar marked a significant effort to take Sambalpuri literature to a pan-Indian platform. The multilingual event saw attendance by literary scholars from both within and outside Odisha. It brought together scholars, researchers, and literary enthusiasts from across the country to delve into the cultural and philosophical legacy of the iconic poet, often hailed as the pride and poetic spirit of Odisha. Describing Nag's work as rich in philosophy and deeply rooted in cultural wisdom, Pradhan stressed the need for broader efforts to preserve and promote his writings at all levels. 'Literature is a tool that activates the consciousness of an individual. It constantly stirs intellectual waves and builds new emotions. While not everyone becomes a writer, literature resides in everyone. Its need is universal,' said Pradhan while addressing the gathering. He further emphasised the importance of imparting education in mother tongues to nurture original thinking and creativity among students. On the occasion, several books, anthologies, and collections based on Haldhar Nag's life and literary works were unveiled. Higher Education and Culture minister Suraj Suryabanshi, local MPs, MLAs, and public representatives were also present at the inaugural session.

Congress will pay price for neglecting SES-2015, claims Union Minister Bhupender Yadav
BENGALURU: Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav on Saturday predicted that the Congress in Karnataka will meet the same fate as its national counterpart as it has ignored the Socio-Economic Educational Survey-2015 (caste census report). Delivering the keynote address at the seminar 'Caste Census: Retrospective-Prospective' organised by the Social Justice Awareness Forum at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Yadav said that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his government and LoP in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi were anti-backward classes. The Karnataka government had recently shelved the caste census of 2015 and opted for a fresh survey. Yadav said that the Congress lost power at the Centre because it ignored the Kaka Kalelkar Commission report recommending the upliftment of backward classes socially and educationally. He expressed confidence that when the backward classes become aware that the Congress is averse to their upliftment in Karnataka, it will not be able to return to power. 'Why did those who (Rahul Gandhi) keep the Constitution in their pockets not implement the Kaka Kalelkar Commission report? After the country became independent from the Emergency and from family rule, the Janata Party came to power at the Centre. It also formed the Mandal Commission. The Congress was out of power when the issue of justice for OBCs came to the fore. But when it came to power a few years later, it had ignored the Mandal Commission report as it did it with the Kaka Kalelkar report,' Yadav said, adding that the BJP-backed VP Singh government implemented the Mandal Commission report and got reservation for OBCs.
