Sky's new Glass TV upgrade now available to buy for much cheaper price

Daily Record10-06-2025

The Sky Glass Air smart TV is now available to buy in the UK, with shoppers able to get their hands on the sleek smart TV with Sky built in from £6 per month
Sky has launched a brand-new model of its TV lineup as the Sky Glass Air hits the shelves. Announced earlier this month, it's the latest version of Sky's own smart TV with Sky and streaming apps built in.
With prices starting at £6 per month, the Sky Glass Air is designed as a slimmer and more affordable version of the Sky Glass Gen 2, which starts at £14. But despite its cheaper price, the Air still boasts a 'vibrant' 4K HDR Quantum Dot screen and Dolby Audio speaker system.
Other key features include hands-free voice control, intelligent and personalised recommendations and an easy plug-in-and-play setup. Sky Glass delivers TV and streaming services through WiFi, eliminating the need for a satellite dish or Sky box.
Announcing the new TV, Carli Kerr, MD of Sky TV and NOW, said: 'With Sky Glass Air, we're bringing the Sky experience to more people through a beautifully designed TV with stunning picture quality from £6 a month. It's all about giving people better for less: more choice, great tech and the content they love, without compromising on quality.'
Sky Glass Air is available for £6 when paired with a Sky TV package such as the £15 Essential TV bundle. As well as more than 100 channels, this includes free subscriptions to both Netflix and Discovery+, with Sky Cinema and Sky Sports available for £10 and £20 respectively.
Shoppers can pick up the Sky Glass Air with its 'sleek design [and] slim frame' in three sizes, 43', 55' and 65'. There's also a choice of colours including Sea Green, Carbon Grey and Cotton White.
For those preferring to buy their TV outright, the Sky Glass Air can be purchased for £309. Alternatively, Amazon has just cut £150 off its 43' Fire TV 4-Series, now £279.99, while Samsung is offering 10% off its higher-end QLED and Crystal UHD TVs, like this 50' QLED Q7F2 at £539.10.
But for those sticking with the Sky Glass Air, the tech experts at What Hi-Fi, have given it a thumbs up in their early review. They said: 'Sky Glass Air seems pretty respectable for the price, with a detailed and colourful image that can deliver punch when required.
'The biggest draw is Sky OS and its long list of features. The ability to access shows and add them to a system-wide playlist regardless of the service they are hosted on remains a fan favourite, while the voice interaction system is robust.'
However, they also noted a potential flaw in the sound, adding: 'It's a noticeable downgrade, with the TV delivering a thinner and less atmospheric sound overall, but it does a solid job of prioritising clear vocals.
'Overall, the Glass Air seems to make a strong case for itself, especially with the price in mind. It's a cheaper Sky Glass that retains the Sky experience at its core, and cuts back on a few of the more premium features offered by the Glass Gen 2.'

Jessie J reveals she's NOT cancer free as she shares new health update after mastectomy

The 37-year-old singer had the operation earlier this week in a bid to beat her breast cancer, and some fans misinterpreted a post that stated: "Cancer has all gone". Credit: Jessie J Jessie said her words had been "misunderstood" and that her statement was a "positive affirmation". She wrote: "I posted a list of pros and cons of having breast cancer surgery. The first pro I put was... the cancer has all gone'. "This was a positive affirmation NOT a fact. I don't have my results yet. I added the [fingers crossed emoji] in thinking people would understand and clearly a lot didn't. "A weird situation," she continued. "My fault for not being clearer. But for now I do not have my results after surgery which was only 6 nights ago. I pray it will be true soon but the journey of cancer isn't that simple unfortunately." Jessie is now taking a break from social media as she continues her recovery. "Tapping off socials for a week," she said. "Healthy and needed reset. To focus on my recovery and saying stuff that gets twisted of misread. "My head and boob hurts. Lol, Bye. Always loveeeee." After her operation, Jessie admitted she was struggling not being able to pick up her two-year-old son, Sky. She then outlined the 'pros' of the procedure, writing: "Cancer is all gone. "My nipple is where it used to be, I can watch Love Island with no guilt. Jessie J reveals she's taking break from music to 'beat breast cancer' after shock diagnosis "I am getting to rest and talk to friends more than ever. "My mum lives with us. Sky just being Sky. Chanan making me feel safe and the messages are 10/10. "Connecting with other people who are going through a similar time and being able to support each other." The list was then followed by a "cons" equivalent. "Not being the mum I'm used to being and picking Sky up," she typed. "The fear of not knowing if the cancer is all gone - the mental with this is... "The pain and discomfort is ok and expected but a d******d when I'm trying to sleep." Jessie explained how the only painkillers she was allowed to take were paracetamol and ibuprofen due to having low blood pressure. 7 The singer put out a list of pros and cons post-surgery Credit: jessiej/Instagram She did try and clear up her post at the time, warning she hadn't meant for the statement to be read as "fact" and that she is still awaiting her results. The BRIT winner added: "I'm getting a lot of messages. Saying so happy all the cancer has gone. To be clear I added the [fingers crossed] emoji as it's a hope not a fact. "I only had my surgery 4 days ago. I was just saying the pros of surgery and this situation and being positive. But I will get my results soon. "And hopefully I can post that as a fact. But for now I don't know. But I will stay positive and talk what l want into the universe." 7 Earlier this month, Jessie - who shares son Sky with basketball player Chanan Colman - revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Incredibly, she went ahead and performed at this year's Capital FM Summertime Ball in London on June 15. Jessie held back tears as she told the crowd at Wembley Stadium that she was taking a break to "beat breast cancer". 7 She soon warned fans that she hadn't meant for the statement to be read as "fact" and that she is still awaiting her results Credit: Instagram 7 She performed at the Capital FM Summertime Ball before her surgery
