Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki join Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sequel

Perth Now31-05-2025
Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki have joined the cast of the new 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' movie.
The pair will join Brad Pitt in David Fincher's follow-up to Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film, which starred Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, it is unclear who Caan and Debicki will play in the upcoming movie.
The story is said to feature two key female roles, 'one who runs a bar and mud wrestling establishment and one a trophy wife' but it has not been revealed if Debicki will play once of these or an entirely new part.
It will be a reunion for Pitt and Caan, who previously worked together on the 'Ocean's' movie series.
Brad, 61, will reprise his role as stuntman Cliff Booth, in the upcoming film, which Fincher will direct for Netflix from a Tarantino script.
It's said that Tarantino retains the rights to the characters in 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood', while Sony - which financed and released the movie - retains the film itself, which is why the upcoming project is not seen as a sequel or prequel despite using the Booth character.
It's unclear if Leonardo DiCaprio will return as Western TV star Rick Dalton.
Tarantino won't be at the helm, which means the film won't count as his 10th and final film.
The director had had been set to reunite with Pitt - who also appeared in 'Inglourious Basterds in 2009 - for third collaboration on 'The Movie Critic.
According to Deadline, Tarantino has "simply changed his mind" after delaying production to rewrite the script.
Now, he's expected to go back to the drawing board in a bid to find a firm idea for what will be his final film.

Mark Ruffalo's Hulk confirmed for Spider-Man 4

Mark Ruffalo will join Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 57-year-old actor will reprise his role of Bruce Banner / The Hulk in the upcoming Sony/Marvel movie sequel, alongside Tom as Spider Man. Michael Mando will also return to his role of the Scorpion, the villain from 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, along with Jon as vigilante the Punisher. Tom, 29, recently revealed how excited he is to return to the Spider Man universe, after COVID-19 restrictions made shooting difficult on the third movie, 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home. He told Flip Your Wig: 'I think we were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of Covid. We shot the entire film on stages. Now we're really going to lean into that old school filmmaking and shoot in real locations. 'We are going to use the streets of Glasgow for this massive set piece that we are putting together.' Tom added that playing Peter Parker and his web-slinging alter-ego is like 'like hanging out with an old pal' and filming the fourth movie is 'going to feel like making 'Spider-Man 1 [2017's 'Spider-Man: Homecoming] again'. He added: 'It's been such a long time that I've done it that it's going to feel like a breath of fresh air. I think the fans are going to be over the moon with what we're putting together.' Zendaya will also be returning as MJ in Spider-Man 4, along with Jacob Batalon as Peter Parker's best friend Ned. Sadie Sink has joined the cast, but her character has not been revealed.

Netflix's Yosemite series Untamed is really at home in Canada

You don't have to go to America to see the sights of Yosemite National Park — and you don't have to take my word for it. The current Netflix hit series Untamed, starring Eric Bana and Sam Neill, makes much of telling its story in Yosemite. The key piece of action, around which the whole series hinges, takes place on the distinctive El Capitan granite mountain face. But it doesn't. Untamed was filmed in Canada, and the El Capitan in the series is actually Mount Seymour, in Mount Seymour Provincial Park in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Part of the North Shore Mountains, it rises to 1449m above the Indian River. Canada is a complete alternative for those considering touring the national parks of the US. THE STORY Untamed, a six-episode series, was released on July 17 and quickly racked up almost 25 million views, rising to No.1 on the Netflix TV charts for English-language shows. Co-written by Mark L Smith and Elle Smith, it's a mystery-thriller following Kyle Turner (played by Eric Bana), who is a special agent for the National Parks Service, based in Yosemite National Park. He sets out to investigate the death of a young woman who falls from El Capitan, getting caught in the ropes of two young climbers on the granite face. His investigation starts to reveal the dark secrets of the national the park, and in his own past. THE LOCATIONS It has been revealed that the log cabin in which special agent Kyle Turner lives isn't in Yosemite, but in Murdo Frazer Park, again, in North Vancouver Canada. Many of the snow scenes were filmed in Whistler Olympic Park. In the series, some of the action is set at 'Grouse Lake in Yosemite National Park', but this is Grace Lake, in British Columbia. It is close to Vancouver — just take Highway 7 to Harrison Mills, turn left into Morris Valley Road and drive 11km and turn into Sts/Ailes Forest Service Road and you'll find Grace Lake Recreation Site, where camping is CAD $25 ($28). The forested trails of North Vancouver's Greenwood Park provide good locations for the series. Greenwood Park and Kealy Woods Park are in the upper Grand Boulevard neighbourhood of Vancouver, with dramatic bluffs, bedrock outcrops. There's a network of trails through both parks, making them very popular. The Green Necklace greenway (a 7.5km scenic loop), extends north into Greenwood Park and also attracts visitors to the area. There's a quarry in Greenwood Park that is popular with locals for bouldering. Kyle Turner's investigation, with forest ranger Naya Vasquez (Lily Santiago) alongside, leads to a squatter camp, which was filmed in Deroche. It is an 'unincorporated community' of growers at the foot of Nicomen Mountain in Fraser Valley, southwestern British Columbia. There are a number of river gorge hiking scenes in Untamed, and some of these were filmed on Cheakamus River, with rapids and big fir and cedar trees. The river is a tributary of the Squamish River, and scenes were also shot at the Balls To The Wall waterfall, which is famous with whitewater kayakers. The Cheakamus River is synonymous with Whistler kayaking. Just search YouTube to see paddlers on the Cheakamus and shooting Balls To The Wall.

Actor Gary Busey pleads guilty to groping woman

Gary Busey has pleaded guilty to groping a woman at a New Jersey horror film convention. The 81-year-old actor admitted that he deliberately touched a woman inappropriately whilst posing with fans as he pleaded guilty to criminal sexual misconduct at a virtual court appearance on Thursday. The incident occurred at the Monster-Mania Con in August 2022 as Busey was accused of groping several women who filed reports with the police. The star was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, one count of attempting criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree and one disorderly count of harassment. Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will drop the remaining charges against Busey who faces between one to five years of probation and fines. He has also agreed not to contact the victim. Busey, who appeared distracted during the hearing and was scolded by judge Gwendolyn Blue for drinking from a soft drink can, will be sentenced on September 18. The actor's guilty plea comes after he initially claimed the woman had made up her accusation. Busey told TMZ in 2022: "None of that happened. "There were a partner, a camera lady, and me and two girls. It took less than 10 seconds, and then they left. Then, they made up this story that I assaulted them sexually - but I did not." It is not the first time that the Oscar-nominated actor has fallen foul of the law as he faced drug charges in 1995 following a near-fatal cocaine overdose. The star - who suffered permanent brain damage in a 1988 motorcycle accident - has previously been arrested on charges of spousal abuse and was also accused of sexual assault by a female employee when he took part in Celebrity Apprentice in 2011. Busey's son Luke previously recalled how the motorcycle accident completely changed his father's personality after he underwent brain surgery to recover from his serious injuries. He told The Hollywood Reporter: "At 17, I had to teach him with my mom to talk, to eat, to feed himself. To walk again. To write. That was very difficult for me at that age. The post-accident version of him turned his personality up to 11. I feel like I lost my dad on December 4, 1988."
