Balanced diet could boost attention spans

A balanced diet could boost people's attention spans. Experts have recommended the consumption of fruits, vegetables, nuts and other high-fibre foods because it "promotes satiety". Satiety is a state where people feel full until their next meal. And Vanessa Sturman, a London-based healthy eating guru, thinks satiety can "prevent distractions" and "[enhance] focus". She stated that "only about one in 10" people get 30 grams - the general recommendation - of fibre daily. Vanessa is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Eating a range of fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, nuts, seeds, beans and lentils is essential. "These foods are high in fibre, which promotes satiety, preventing distractions and enhancing focus. "Currently, only about one in 10 people meet their daily fibre needs."
