Police search for hit-and-run driver that fatally struck bicyclist in South LA
The crash happened at around 10:10 p.m. on July 1, when investigators say a speeding Tesla Model X was traveling east on 67th Street from Flower Street when they crashed into a bicyclist who was heading int he same direction, according to a release from the Los Angeles Police Department.
Instead of stopping, the driver continued driving east towards Broadway.
The bicyclist, only identified as a 30-year-old man, was pronounced dead after he was taken to a nearby hospital.
As their investigation continues, LAPD detectives have released a photo of the Tesla involved in the collision.
As with all deadly hit-and-run crashes in Los Angeles, a standing reward of up to $50,000 is offered for anyone with information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction on the suspect.

According to KTLA, one Pitbull was shot dead after it charged at a police officer when they arrived at the scene. The incident occurred near a homeless encampment, and San Bernardino Animal Control later responded to the scene and removed 14 dogs, per KTLA and the Times. Mendoza's son, Alex Lozano, told the Times his mother had been homeless for more than a year at the time of the death. He added that she often visited Perris Hill Park with a male companion. 'My grandpa from Texas called and said that my mom was attacked by Pit bulls. That's how I found out,' Lozano, 21, said. He added that he and his mother had not spoken for some time. Car runs over cyclist's foot when he was waiting at junction before driving off
A cyclist was rushed to hospital with broken bones after a car ran over his foot in a hit-and-run. The 34-year-old man was left with two breaks in his right foot after it was driven over at the crossroads of Normanby Road and Flatts Lane in Middlesbrough at around 2.40pm on Saturday (August 2). The man had been waiting in the middle of the junction to turn right when the car struck. The driver failed to stop, leaving the injured cyclist in the road, police said. He was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment. Police said the man was unable to get a description of the vehicle.
