A man was found dead at a bus stop in South Los Angeles early Sunday morning, authorities confirmed. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers responded to reports of a man down at about 5:20 a.m. near a bus stop in the area of South Central Avenue and East 112th Street. The man had multiple stab wounds, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A man was later detained in connection with the fatal stabbing. No additional details have been released regarding the detainment. The deceased man has not yet been identified as of Sunday afternoon. It's not clear what led up to the stabbing.

Police search for hit-and-run driver that fatally struck bicyclist in South LA

Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a bicyclist in South Los Angeles in early July. The crash happened at around 10:10 p.m. on July 1, when investigators say a speeding Tesla Model X was traveling east on 67th Street from Flower Street when they crashed into a bicyclist who was heading int he same direction, according to a release from the Los Angeles Police Department. Instead of stopping, the driver continued driving east towards Broadway. The bicyclist, only identified as a 30-year-old man, was pronounced dead after he was taken to a nearby hospital. As their investigation continues, LAPD detectives have released a photo of the Tesla involved in the collision. As with all deadly hit-and-run crashes in Los Angeles, a standing reward of up to $50,000 is offered for anyone with information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction on the suspect.

Police are searching for an alleged hit-and-run driver that struck and killed a man in his 70s as he crossed a South Los Angeles street on Thursday. It happened at around 9 p.m. on 90th Street, when a four-door sedan heading northbound on Vermont Avenue struck the pedestrian in a marked crosswalk, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was declared dead at the scene, police said. Investigators did not provide details on a suspect or vehicle involved. As with all deadly hit-and-run crashes in Los Angeles, a $50,000 reward is being offered by the city for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect. $50k reward offered as search continues for South LA hit-and-run driver that killed bicyclist

Police once again asked the public for clues regarding a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened in South Los Angeles on June 1, now highlighting a $50,000 reward as their leads have continued to hit dead ends. Officers were called to the intersection of Century Boulevard and San Pedro Street at around 11:10 p.m. that night after learning of a bicyclist who was hit by a speeding Chevrolet Camaro, said a release from Los Angeles police at the time. The crash left 34-year-old Jose Villalobos, who was riding a bicycle, dead at the scene. New images of the possible suspect and vehicle involved in the deadly hit-and-run. Los Angeles Police Department The suspect made a right turn onto San Pedro Street, continued heading north and turned westbound onto E. 98th Street following the collision, failing to stop and help the victim, police said. Since the crash, investigators have been unable to find additional details leading to the suspect's location. On June 18, they shared surveillance footage of the violent crash, which showed the victim being thrown into the road. The latest request for information from police brought further attention to the standing $50,000 reward being offered by the city as part of the Hit-and-Run Reward Program. Investigators shared new video of the suspect and their car, including some image of a man believed to be the suspect. "It has real distinct, two black racing stripes along the center of the vehicle ... from the front bumper to the rear," said LAPD Detective Ryan Moreno during a news conference. "There were several street takeovers that were happening in the area. It is possible that this individual, this car, may have been involved in one of those." A U.S. Postal Service carrier was shot in the arm Monday in South Los Angeles, and police are searching for a suspect. Around 11:40 a.m., the carrier was allegedly shot in the area of Century Boulevard and Central Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim was conscious and breathing when taken to a hospital, an LAPD representative said. "The United States Postal Inspection Service and the Los Angeles Police Department responded after receiving reports of a letter carrier who was shot in the South Los Angeles area," Postal Inspector Patricia Mendoza said in a statement. "The Postal Inspection Service can confirm the postal employee was shot. This is an active investigation, and no additional information can be provided at this time."
