#NSTviral: Delivery rider triggers crash on MRR2, flees scene
The incident, which took place around 2.47pm on July 1, was captured on a dashcam and has since gone viral on social media.
Ampang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said investigations showed that all vehicles were heading from Pandan Jaya towards Cheras when the crash occurred.
"The motorcyclist was travelling in the middle lane but suddenly veered left across three lanes to enter a junction," said Mohd Azam.
The sudden lane change forced the driver of a Honda Civic to hit the brake abruptly, but the car ended up crashing into a Perodua Ativa in front as it swerved left in an attempt to avoid the motorcyclist.
"Fortunately, no one was injured. All vehicles sustained minor damage.
"The motorcyclist did not stop at the scene," he said.
The case is being investigated under Rule 6(1) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN 166/59).
Mohd Azam urged motorists to avoid making reckless decisions on the road.
"Do not make abrupt moves or act without thinking. Drive carefully, be considerate and obey all traffic laws.
"Accidents can be avoided if we stay alert and follow the rules," he said.

Workshops in Penang raided, 30 vehicles compounded, four towed
GEORGE TOWN: Thirty vehicles were issued compounds, while four others were towed during an integrated enforcement operation targeting vehicle workshops in the northeast district yesterday. The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) said action was taken against two workshops following public complaints and ongoing monitoring, after vehicles belonging to customers were found illegally parked along the roadside, obstructing traffic and posing safety risks. "These vehicles were parked on the road shoulder, causing congestion and endangering other road users," the council said in a statement posted on Facebook today. Among the offences recorded were parking or using vehicles on pedestrian walkways under Rule 44 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959, and failure to comply with traffic signs (parking on yellow lines) under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Other offences included positioning vehicles in a manner that could cause danger, obstruction or inconvenience to traffic under Section 48(1) of the same Act. According to MBPP, the enforcement action also involved privately owned vehicles not affiliated with the workshops, as some individuals were found to have taken advantage of the situation by parking illegally along the main road near the premises. The operation, carried out by MBPP's Licensing and Enforcement Department, is part of the council's ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and maintain orderly traffic flow in the city. The council added that it would continue to take firm action against any party found flouting local traffic laws.

Musician arrested for assaulting housemate in Ampang door-slamming case
KUALA LUMPUR: A local musician was arrested for allegedly assaulting his housemate following a heated argument over a door-slamming incident in Pandan Indah, Ampang Jaya. The 46-year-old suspect was detained by police yesterday but later released after giving his statement. According to Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Azam Ismail, the altercation began last Monday when the victim, a 52-year-old man, was startled by the loud slamming of a bathroom door at 6.30 am. Irritated by the noise, the victim retaliated by slamming the door back, which escalated the situation. 'The suspect then emerged from his room holding a guitar stand and struck the victim with it. He also threatened to bring a friend to assault the victim further,' Mohd Azam said in a statement. Police arrested the musician at 4.45 pm yesterday in Pandan Jaya and confiscated a black guitar stand as evidence. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon and Section 506 for criminal intimidation.
