Todd makes a discovery in Coronation Street that will change everything

Metro8 hours ago

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) is set to make a discovery in upcoming Coronation Street things that could change everything.
Things have been rocky between Todd and boyfriend Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) since his daughter Millie (Kaitlyn Earley) began trying to split them up.
Todd began seeing Theo before learning that he had a wife and children, which left him devastated.
However, Theo insisted that he wanted to be with Todd, and the pair kept their relationship on the down-low for several weeks.
Unfortunately, their love was exposed when Theo's wife Danielle (Natalie Anderson) caught them kissing.
The revelation that Theo had cheated on Danielle with a man tore the family apart, and Millie has been trying to repair it ever since, though her efforts haven't been entirely honest.
Earlier this year, she announced she was pregnant in the hopes that it would force Theo to spend more time with his family.
However, it was later revealed that she had been faking it all along.
In upcoming scenes, oblivious Theo leaves Millie panicked when he reveals that he is going to speak to her teacher about the pregnancy.
Having noticed Millie's behaviour, Todd realises that she is lying about the baby. More Trending
Confronting her, Todd tells her it is obvious that she's not being honest and advises her to come clean to save any further trouble.
As Millie emotionally agrees, Todd advises her to take another pregnancy test and claim that the first one was a false positive, promising that he won't expose her lies to her parents.

When Theo gets home, Millie reveals that she has something to tell him. Will she go along with Todd's plan, or could she be set to carry on with her lies?

Coronation Street confirms dark Theo scenes in ITVX release as discovery is made

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Coronation Street that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Dark scenes have aired in Coronation Street tonight, and they've left us very worried about Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce). Todd's new relationship with Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) has faced many challenges so far, but he's remained determined to get through them. As a result of the fact Theo spent the majority of his life concealing his sexuality, he was in a relationship with a lady called Danielle (Natalie Anderson). Following the developments regarding Theo, Millie – their daughter – has struggled to accept her dad is no longer in love with her mum. In recent scenes, the teen convinced herself that faking a pregnancy would bring her dad back to the family home, and that Todd would eventually become a distant memory. Millie's lie didn't go on for very long, however, due to Todd spotting her drinking alcohol last week. Todd confronted Millie in this evening's episode, but wanted to try and help her. In the café, Todd pointed out that it would be better to confess the truth now, rather than allow the lie to spiral completely out of control. A while later, Todd returned home and was faced with an angry looking Theo. He said that Millie had just told him about being forced into having an abortion…by Todd. He was utterly horrified by the lie. Todd defended himself by saying that Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) would remember seeing them in the café, and very nearly displayed a time-stamped receipt. Just before he did though, Theo revealed that he knew about Millie's false story. This left Todd in a confused state, as he could not understand why Theo would make him feel this way, if he knew about Millie's plan already. As Theo took Millie home, Todd ended up getting drunk with James Bailey (Jason Callender). James tried to make a move on Todd, but he pushed him away. Unfortunately, this situation happened just as Theo returned. Todd did his best to reassure Theo and said he wasn't interested in James. Theo laughed about the chaos of his day, and then told Todd that he would keep Millie away from him for a little while, if he kept his distance from James. Todd, again, was puzzled, but agreed. Outside, James approached Theo and checked in on Millie and Todd. In a huge twist, Theo threatened James, saying that if he didn't back off Todd, they'd be exchanging more than just words in the future. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? The development of this storyline was something Gareth Pierce spoke about recently. More Trending 'He's trying to be understanding of Theo', he said. 'He's been suppressing his sexuality for so long, Todd is trying to encourage him towards being someone that can be comfortable in their new gay identity. 'I think Todd has spotted many things from Theo, but he still has the mindset that he can fix this and because of the love that's there, he's thinking they will get through it. Emmerdale actress reveals exactly how much soap stars are paid – and it's not as much as you think

The actress quit the UK and now runs a week shop in Thailand soap duds Emmerdale actress reveals exactly how much soap stars are paid – and it's not as much as you think Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A LONG running soap actress has lifted the lid on the reality of what some of the country's biggest TV stars earn. Kelli Hollis, who starred as Ali Spencer on Emmerdale was asked by a fan how salaries worked on TV soaps and if they were based on episode appearances. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 3 Kelli Hollis opened up on what soap stars earn Credit: Getty 3 She played Ali Spencer on the ITV soap Credit: Rex The actress, who quit the UK and now runs a weed shop in Thailand, broke down the typical soap contracts and potential earnings for stars. "[On] Emmerdale I explained that you get an episode fee and you're guaranteed so many episodes a year... so if we're saying roughly £500 and up [per episode], and you were contracted to do 90 [episodes, that's 45k, it's obviously a good wage," Kelli began. "But it's not like the 'rich, rich' you'd think famous actors would be earning." Kelli added: "Now, that's that sort of middle of the road [salary]. I'm not going to lie when I was at Emmerdale to my knowledge, one of the highest paid actors was on a thousand pound episodes." She explained that you "never know for sure," what your co-stars earned because everybody was paid differently. Kelli also spoke about extra earnings actors made from soaps, but also all the hidden fees they pay that viewers might not know about. "So, yeah, it would only be 45, but then you get a buyout, which is pretty much the same as your wage, so I'll top that up to 90. Then, you've got the agent's commission, which is usually 12 and a half percent," she said. "And because you're self-employed, you have to put 40 [per cent] away for tax." Kelli added: "Obviously, there's a lot of tax rebates and things you can claim for as an act of things you probably won't normally be able to claim as a self-employed person, but there is a cap on a lot of those things." She told the fan that "people are under the assumption that actors get paid a s**t ton of money," but that wasn't always the case. I was an Emmerdale star but now I sell weed for a living - I've quit the soap and the UK and I'm never coming home Kelli, who also starred on the TV drama, Shameless, also explained that veteran soap actors such as, Coronation Street star, William Roache were on older ITV contracts that can't be broken and likely on higher salaries. "It's very, very different now, and to be honest, to my knowledge, you're not even guaranteed the 90 episode a year now," she said. "When I was leaving Emmerdale, it was almost like they were putting people on pay-as-you-go contracts or three months contracts which isn't going to work for many actors." The Sun has previously revealed that some soap actors were raking in the big salaries, and along with their six-figure acting earnings, some viewer favourites from Coronation Street and EastEnders to Emmerdale are worth millions thanks to lucrative deals and side hustles. But some of the biggest stars could be facing the axe in a huge cost-cutting drive as audiences dwindle. An insider said: 'There is about to be a bloodbath across Corrie, Emmerdale and EastEnders — and it won't be pretty. "All the big three have all been told they need to cut their wage bills by up to 25 per cent. Now there is panic in the green rooms about who could be facing the chop.'

Coronation Street exit confirmed as star jets off to Australia

Coronation Street star Farrel Hegarty has wrapped her time on the ITV soap. The actress, 37, arrived on the cobbles in February as Lou Michaelis and alongside co-star Joe Layton, who plays Lou's husband Mick, were tipped to be the Battersby family of the 21st century. However, just weeks after their high-profile arrival on Mawdsley Street, both actors were confirmed to be leaving. A Coronation Street's spokesperson told Metro at the time: 'This is not a shock exit or an early exit. Mick and Lou were brought into the show to cause chaos on the cobbles in the build-up to a major storyline in the summer and they are already making their presence felt. 'Joe and Farrell were contracted for a specific length of time, some characters come in for a long time and some like Mick and Lou are brought to pass through and leave a trail of destruction behind them. 'Both actors are still filming with the show and will be on screen until the summer.' Branded the 'neighbours from hell' by show boss Kate Brooks, the couple immediately ruffled feathers throughout Weatherfield. During his first scenes, it was revealed that Mick was the van driver who had been tormenting Chesney Winter-Brown (Sam Aston), later embarking on a feud with Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney). His behaviour soon turned more sinister, beating Lou and then killing Craig Tinker (Colson Smith). Mick subsequently threatened Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) with a cricket bat, before being arrested for his crimes. In his absence, Lou has become dependant on Tim and Sally Metcalfe (Joe Duttine and Sally Dynevor) to care for their young daughters, and has developed an obsession with Gary Windass (Mikey North). Now, Farrel has seemingly filmed her final scenes as she jetted off to Australia to reunite with her partner. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers?
