Shoppers spot new flavour of chocolate Maltesers pouches on shelves with twist on festive favourite
One user picked up dozens of likes and comments this week for her review of the treat on Instagram after finding a pack of five in a huge supermarket.

Several chocolate fans have posted photographs of Maltesers Mini Reindeers Gingerbread Flavour on social media.
It comes just days after shoppers spotted White Chocolate Maltesers as part of the meal deal options at Asda.
The Mini Reindeers snack is on sale in Asda for £1.80.
They are currently out of stock at Tesco and not yet listed at Aldi or Lidl.
Another_snack_reviewer described the new pouches as "milk chocolate with a gingerbread flavour malt filling and honeycombed pieces".
They added: "Yes, I realise this is a Christmas product and yes I realise it's only July. But I've always said if it's on the shelves then I'm gonna buy it!
"I'm a big fan of the reindeer/bunny range (white chocolates are obviously the best) so I was super excited to see a new flavour!"
The review continued: "Unfortunately these didn't quite do it for me.
"While the malty, honeycomb flavour was there and the texture was the usual creamy yet crunchy one which I love, the gingerbread just wasn't strong enough against the other elements.
"It did come through more in the aftertaste but I still would have preferred it to be a tad punchier."
This prompted several responses from other users.
One wrote: "Shame as I was so excited for the gingerbread flavour of these" while another wrote: "OMG Christmas food reviews in July? I kid I kid!
"If they're selling it, you've gotta review it.
"Very sad to hear they aren't that tasty though. I'll stick to my favourite reindeer, the mint one."
'Add the ginger!'
Another posted: "Aww nooooo I was so hoping these would be full on gingerbread."
A fourth user said: "Just add more ginger, don't know if its a cost saving or worried people would find them too gingery but seriously, people who don't like ginger aren't gonna buy them so people who will buy them clearly like ginger. Add the ginger!"
One user lamented: "The saddest news I've heard all week.
"Was so looking forward to these as well!"
Maltesers' new white chocolate snacks are available at major retailers — but sweet lovers will need to act fast before they sell out.
Originally aimed at "dieting women", White Chocolate Maltesers were the white-chocolate version of Maltesers.
The key difference between them and the original was that, instead of being covered in milk chocolate, they were covered in a delicious white chocolate coating.
Maltesers are round balls of malted milk covered in chocolate.
They were launched in 1937 after being created by American Forrest Mars Sr.
Maltesers were first released in the UK and were originally aimed at "dieting women" as a "lighter" way to enjoy chocolate.
They have since become popular across Europe and in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd brands wedding guests 'idiots' for one question
Jack P Shepherd, known for his role as David Platt on the long-running ITV soap, recently tied the knot with his partner, Hanni Treweek, but revealed that he had a certain issue prior to the big day Jack P Shepherd has dubbed some of his recent wedding guests "f***ing idiots" for asking a specific question about the proceedings. In a new episode of the On The Sofa podcast with fellow Coronation Street stars Colson Smith and Ben Price (recorded prior to his marriage to Hanni Treweek), the David Platt actor opened up about his wedding preparations. On Saturday (July 26), the happy couple tied the knot at Manchester Cathedral, surrounded by loved ones. It included his podcast co-hosts, Colson and Ben, who would serve as his groomsmen on the day. Jack noted at the time of the recording that it was the "kick-b*****k scramble" week before the wedding, a time when they had to address the "nitty gritty bits", prompting Colson to ask if there had been any cancellations. He said: "I've had a few f***ing idiots saying things like - it's mainly family." Colson interjected, noting that he was, in fact, a "f***ing idiot", to which Jack replied: "Oh, was ya?" Jack continued: "Saying stuff like, 'Well, where do we get ready, because the wedding's at two, but we can't check in till three?' I said, 'At f***ing home, you idiot. I mean, where do you think you get ready if you can't get ready in the hotel?" Elaborating, he pointed out that people could arrive at the hotel and do what "normal people" do by dropping their bags off. Despite this, it appears that the wedding went off without a hitch. In what they described as "the wedding of our dreams", Jack arrived in a red Mustang and wore an off-white suit, sunglasses and bow-tie. Meanwhile, Hanni, donning a tiara, reportedly wore a skirt and off-the-shoulder top. Also in attendance were Jack's son, Reuben (whose outfit matched his dad's) and the actor's on-screen mum, Helen Worth, who was accompanied by her husband, Trevor Dawson. As they left the venue, the newlyweds could be seen beaming and exchanging a number of kisses as they headed to the wedding car, as white confetti cascaded over them. Jack and Hanni first met on the set of Corrie when she was working as a scriptwriter. Fast forward to over a year ago, and Jack popped the question while the couple enjoyed a safari in Tanzania. The soap actor first joined the long-running ITV show in April 2000 and has since become a much-loved fixture of the series. In advance of the big day, Jack took to Instagram to express his thanks to the wedding planners. He wrote: "The A team, @taylorlynncorp me and @hannitreweek are so grateful. everything has come together and it's looking like it's gonna be amazing! "We couldn't have done it without you guys. Best in the biz. Thank you thank you thank you."

Star Wrexham let go who wanted to stay makes statement that Ryan Reynolds will love
Veteran striker Steven Fletcher has praised Wrexham after being released from the club owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, calling it his most enjoyable football experience Veteran striker Steven Fletcher was forced to leave Wrexham despite wanting to prolong his career in Wales – but he has still spoken glowingly about his time at the club. The former Premier League goalscorer was let go at the end of last season after playing a key role in two of the Welsh side's three successive promotions. The 38-year-old scored eight goals in 40 League One appearances last term, many of them from the bench, as the Red Dragons secured automatic promotion. However, the former Scotland international was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Phil Parkinson as Wrexham began their preparations for life in the Championship. Fletcher, who played in the Premier League with Burnley, Wolves and Sunderland earlier in his career, said in a post on Instagram in May that he was departing "with a heavy heart" and "not by choice". But despite his disappointment, he has spoken warmly about his two-year spell at Wrexham and the positive environment at the club in words which will be music to the ears of Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Speaking on the Golf Life YouTube channel, Fletcher said: "There's something about it, the town, the club, the fans and the staff. There's just a massive togetherness. I've been in football for 20-odd years and it's the most I've enjoyed my football. "I've played in the Premier League, I've played at the highest levels, and no disrespect to the clubs I've been at, but in that moment I really enjoyed my football." Fletcher is now mulling over his next move and admitted he is "95 per cent sure" that his football career is over. He said his plans to retire come despite some of his old teammates encouraging him to keep going. He added: "I'm 95 per cent sure that I'm done. When you say it out loud, you get a weird feeling. There's a bit inside of me that wants to finish on a high and I don't want to go chasing something that I'm not going to find." Fletcher's efforts for Wrexham were clearly appreciated by the club's owners. Reacting to him being released on social media, Reynolds said he would miss his "leadership and wit". Addressing Fletcher directly, Reynolds said: "Words aren't agile enough to capture what you've brought to Wrexham, the sport, and the lives of myself and this whole town. You aren't a PART of greatness. You ARE greatness. "I don't really know what a co-chairmen is supposed to do or say in these moments and I don't much care. I'm gonna miss you. I'll miss your your leadership and wit and the way you remind everyone - including me - that this is also FUN. Like the first day we met, I'm here for you any time and any place. Always." McElhenney later opened up about how difficult he found saying goodbye to Fletcher while appearing on the podcast. It came after the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor revealed enjoyed a round with golf with Fletcher in the US shortly before he was released. "Even just bringing up his [Steven Fletcher's] name is difficult because the brutal reality of football it just reminds me of how quickly you can go from spending all day with him here in Los Angeles promoting the show and playing golf," he said. "[Then] putting him on a plane, sending him home and within 24 hours, Phil released him from the club, and that was difficult." Beckham family feud ramps up as Cruz blasts Brooklyn as a 'fraud' and calls Nicola Peltz's parents a foul-mouthed slur
Cruz Beckham has taken aim at older brother Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz in a series of foul-mouthed social media messages, can reveal. The youngest Beckham brother, 20, escalated the ongoing Beckham-Peltz feud this week after sharing a string of cryptic jabs on Instagram notes, referring to 'a fraud' and a family of 'c**ts'. Insiders exclusively told the not-so-subtle digs were directed at his big brother and his sister-in-law - further fueling the bitter family rift that has pitted Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 31, against the rest of the Beckham clan. Along with labeling Nicola's billionaire relatives 'a whole family o' c***s', an outraged Cruz took jabs at his brother, saying: 'ur a d**k now', according to the posts obtained by He also raged: 'Instant karma gonna get you' and 'Ur dead to me now', in additional posts. In another message, he seemed to accuse his brother of having 'Stockholm Syndrome', echoing mom Victoria's reported claims that her daughter-in-law has too much control over her eldest son. The youngest Beckham brother, 20, shared a series of cryptic Instagram notes saying 'you're a fraud' and 'Ur a d**k now', that were directed at Brooklyn, according to insiders 'Brooklyn and Nicola have been on the receiving end of a relentless barrage of criticism and Cruz's posts have just made things worse,' a source close to the family told 'The tension in the family has been building up since the wedding and now it's out of hand. 'When people react in the way Cruz has with these vitriolic messages, it just makes things much worse.' Cruz has a history of making thinly veiled social media slights about Brooklyn. Recently, he responded to a comment left on a TikTok video showing Brooklyn performing his latest single that asked if he 'was going to become a racing car driver next or something?' In a snarky reference to Brooklyn's attempts at various careers - including stints as a chef, a photographer, and a publicly stated desire to become an F1 driver - Cruz quipped: 'Wrong brother mate'. The source of the strained family ties appears to be long-standing tensions between Brooklyn's mother and his wife - who had seemed to have a friendly relationship up until the couple's April 2022 wedding. But rumors began to swirl after Nicola picked a custom Valentino gown for her and Brooklyn's $3.5million lavish ceremony at the Palm Beach home of her parents. The controversial choice allegedly infuriated fashion designer mother-in-law Victoria, 51, who expected to be the one to design the wedding dress. Nicola later explained the decision was made because Victoria's atelier couldn't make the dress in time. Additional reports claimed Nicola was also enraged when the former Spice Girl 'hijacked' the newlyweds' first dance at the wedding reception to take the floor with her son. Following the wedding, things became even frostier between Nicola and Victoria who – despite denying reports about troubled waters between them – were notably absent from each other's social media accounts. The source of the strained family ties appears to be long-standing tensions between Brooklyn's mother and his wife 'As much as the Beckhams claim to love Brooklyn, they are acting like they want to damage Nicola,' the source added. 'Nicola tried to ingratiate herself with Victoria but seems like there is no satisfying that family.' Adding fuel to the fire has been Nicola's decision to avoid most Beckham family gatherings – leaving Brooklyn to attend alone. Until December, the feud was relatively low key but that all changed when Romeo, 22, reportedly began dating London-based DJ Kim Turnbull - Brooklyn's reported ex-girlfriend. But Turnbull, who has since distanced herself from Romeo, last month angrily denied ever having a romance with his older brother. Speculation reached a fever pitch earlier this year when fans began to notice Brooklyn and Nicola's silence and absence from major family events. Soaking up the sunshine on their £16 million vessel, David and Victoria were seen making the most of the picturesque French weather off the coast of St Tropez The eldest Beckham sibling was unusually quiet on social media for his mom's 51st birthday in April, after missing out on her Paris Fashion Week debut in March. The feud then spilled into the open the following month when Brooklyn and Nicola turned down an invitation to dad David's lavish 50th birthday party. Brooklyn chose to avoid coming face-to face with Turnbull. This was after he had already missed his dad's pre-birthday fishing trip with his brothers in Scotland. Still, the couple stayed in London for seven days hoping to have a more intimate birthday celebration with David and Victoria. That was not to be. The pair were again silent when David was handed a knighthood in the King's birthday honor in June. Brooklyn didn't publicly pay tribute to his dad on Father's Day last month, however, he did wish little sister Harper a happy 14th birthday on July 10 while studiously ignoring the rest. Earlier this month, reported that Brooklyn also conspicuously unfollowed Cruz and Romeo although he is still following his parents' accounts and sister Harper's. 'Anyone can relate to what the Beckhams are going through,' says the insider. 'Every family has its grievances and squabbles, and they are no exception. Except that they are The Beckhams and it's played out in public. 'Reacting to the dispute with such negativity in these mean-spirited slurs makes it harder for everyone. 'It's time to calm things down. Nicola and Brooklyn are real people and it's terribly hurtful.' Victoria and David did not respond to request for comment. When contacted, reps for Cruz replied: 'No comment.' Despite the division, the Beckhams were spotted enjoying their annual summer getaway on their $21million yacht last weekend off the coast of St Tropez. While second son Romeo, 22, enjoyed jet ski ride in the sunshine, David and Victoria opted for some downtime on the vessel with daughter Harper, photos show. The couple traded in their $6.7million yacht for the much bigger vessel last year, and had been pictured on it sailing around Miami.
