‘Awards Magnet': Our updated Emmy predictions — for the last time together
Sadly, this is Chris' last episode of Awards Magnet — an end of an era! — but he's going out with a bang with a new set of predictions. He's back on The Four Seasons train, but has forsaken one of his favorites from Hacks despite this week's major episode. This week also marked the end of the first season of The Studio and saw the release of The Bear Season 4 trailer. Season 4 is eligible next year, of course, but hope springs eternal for those who feel a good fourth season will boost Season 3's Emmy chances.

On the drama front, The Last of Us wraps up its second season on Sunday. If you know the game, you can kind of figure out how the season will conclude. The show is in third place in the Best Drama Series odds, behind Severance and The Pitt, but it has more in common with the latter than the former in many ways. Meanwhile, after a terrific flashback episode last week, Pedro Pascal feels right back in the hunt. While his category placement is still TBD, he has fallen to fourth place in the Best Drama Actor odds since his character Joel was killed in the second episode.

An Update On ‘Paradise' Season 2 On Hulu Well Ahead Of Its Release Date
Paradise Hulu has managed to slip in some Emmy nominations this year for a brand new series, Paradise, the post-apocalyptic Sterling K. Brown drama where he plays a Secret Service agent now living in an idyllic town…miles under the earth after the world is blown up. Paradise was renewed way back in February of this year, and now we have a new update on season 2 for the first time in a while. The news comes from an interview with EW, in which bizarre things are discussed like the goofy idea for a Last of Us crossover, but some actual news about what's coming. Here's Brown on season 2 (spoilers ahead): Paradise And how he's going to have to travel: The goal is to get from Colorado to Atlanta, where he believes his not-dead wife is. He also says yes, of course, that there will be plenty going on in Paradise itself, even if he is on a new mission. There will also be more of James Marsden in presidential flashbacks, but not as many as before, no doubt. Marsden is actually joining Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple for season 2 of that show, and he has also been filming Avengers: Doomsday, reprising his 20-year-old role as Cyclops. There's also a tease about Shailene Woodley joining the cast in season 2. It's likely she's someone that Xavier finds on the surface, and he praises her as a person and a new friend after filming. 'She's outstanding,' he says. What we do not have is an actual release date for Paradise season 2. The 'anticipated' window is early in 2026, as the creator says he doesn't want a huge gap between seasons. That could be a year or a year and a half, depending. But this is streaming, so likely more toward the latter. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.

Is Phil Dunster not in Ted Lasso Season 4? 8 other favorites who could be out
Excitement is high for fans of everyone's favorite football-coach-turned-soccer-coach, Ted Lasso as Apple TV+ released the first behind-the-scenes clip of Season 4 on Monday, giving a glimpse at the cast in a Kansas City restaurant. Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton), Juno Temple (Keeley Jones), Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) are all confirmed to return for the new season of the Emmy-award winning comedy. But will we see all of our favorites? So far, there has not been any official confirmation on any of the following: Before you panic, just know this doesn't meant that they're definitely not returning in their roles. There is potential that the new season centers around the new AFC Richmond women's team that Keeley pitched to Rebecca at the end of Season 3. If that's the case -- and Ted is being approached to help with or coach the women's squad -- it makes sense we'd see less of the men's players. There's still a chance that some, or all, of the previous supporting cast returns. We'll just have to wait and see. Is Phil Dunster coming back as Jamie Tartt? Regarding that, from Deadline: Not picked up at the time was Phil Dunster (Jamie), in part due to a conflict with another series. He has since signed on for a series regular role on a new HBO comedy from Ted Lasso executive producer Bill Lawrence and Warner Bros TV but could potentially reprise his role in some limited capacity, with fellow Brit Nick Mohammed (Nate) teasing a possible Ted Lasso return in January.

Every celebrity on Stephen Colbert's first 'The Late Show' since it was canceled
On Thursday, CBS cancelling "The Late Show" was "purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night." It added that it was unrelated to "the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount." The surprising move came after Colbert criticized CBS Entertainment's parent company, Paramount Global, for disclosing its agreement to pay Donald Trump $16 million to settle a lawsuit in which he accused the company of "deceptively editing" an interview with Kamala Harris on "60 Minutes" in October. "I don't know if anything will repair my trust in this company. But, just taking a stab at it, I'd say $16 million would help," he said on July 14. Celebrities including Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, John Oliver, Jon Stewart, the "Hacks" star Christopher McDonald, Adam Sandler pretended to be caught on kiss-cam. The montage also included an animated version of Trump hugging the Paramount logo. Colbert ended the skit by interrupting Yankovic and Miranda's performance by jokingly saying he had a "note from corporate." "Your song has been canceled. It says here, 'This is a purely financial decision,'" he said. He added that since they started singing, "the network has lost, and I don't know how this is possible, $40 million to $50 million," referencing the losses that CBS claims explain the show's cancellation. Representatives for CBS did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.
