Las Vegas sees millionaire residents TRIPLE in just four years as they rush to capitalize on the city's perks

Millionaires have been flocking to Las Vegas at unprecedented rates and buying up lavish properties, a new study has revealed.
From 2019 to 2023, the number of millionaires moving to the Sin City metropolitan area has boomed by 166 percent, according to Rent Cafe, which crunched numbers from Census Bureau data.
The year before the pandemic, Las Vegas Valley had 331 millionaire households. By 2023, there were 879.
'It's no surprise to see the number of millionaire households in Las Vegas tripling since 2019. We've felt that momentum firsthand,' luxury realtor Ivan Sher told the Las Vegas Review.
'The city has transformed into a magnet for high-net-worth individuals who want more space, better quality of life, and the energy of a city that's constantly evolving.'
Sin City has become somewhat of a wealthy person's safe haven thanks to Nevada 's forgiving tax policies.
Nevada has no state income tax - a major perk for the rich. There are not any corporate income, franchise, inheritance or gift taxes either. The cost of living is also relatively low.
Meanwhile in neighboring California, the state taxes anyone making over a million dollars 13.3 percent - likely why Sher has seen a spike in wealthy former Golden State residents coming to Vegas.

Roughly a third of Nevada transplants have long been Californians. Nearly 39,000 Californians moved there last year, beating the previous year by roughly 2,000.
Actors Mark Wahlberg and Dean Cain, as well as singer Celine Dion and boxer Floyd Mayweather, are among the celebrities who have bought homes in prestigious Vegas neighborhoods over the years.
Panda Express co-founder Andrew Cherng, DCM co-founder David Chao, along with other prominent figures in the business world have also opted for Las Vegas.
Some of the valley's most expensive and exclusive neighborhoods include The Ridges and MacDonald Highlands, where the median prices of sold homes are $2.3million and $2.4million respectively, according to Realtor.com.
At one point it looked like Southern Nevada would offer an even bigger draw to the area for stars with a plan to bring Hollywood Studios there. But the bill died in legislation.
'The movie studio bill not passing was a missed opportunity, but it doesn't slow us down,' Sher told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
However the real estate broker remains hopeful for the future.
'Vegas is still on the cusp of something major. From F1 to the Super Bowl, NHL, NFL, and even talks of MLB, the city's infrastructure is growing to support high-income industries. This is just the beginning,' he said.
The same reason the wealthy may have their hearts set Vegas is why the City of Lost Wages has become an unsuspecting retirement location over the past few years - a cheaper cost of living.
Stephen Miller, a professor of economics at the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, said that phenomenon had been occurring for more than a decade.
'They retire, they sell their house, they come to Las Vegas and buy a house, maybe they downsize a but even if they don't downsize, the price is going to be lower,' he told Daily Mail in 2023.

Trump executive order seeks end to wind and solar energy subsidies

July 7 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday directed federal agencies to strengthen provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that repeal or modify tax credits for solar and wind energy projects. In an executive order, Trump said the renewable energy resources were unreliable, expensive, displaced more dependable energy sources, were dependent on foreign-controlled supply chains and were harmful to the natural environment and electric grid. The order directs the Treasury department to enforce the phaseout of tax credits for wind and solar projects that were rolled back in the budget bill passed by Congress and signed into law by Trump last week. It also directs the Interior department to review and revise any policies that favor renewables over other energy sources. Both agencies are required to submit a report to the White House within 45 days detailing actions taken. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act effectively ends renewable energy tax credits after 2026 if projects have not started construction. Wind and solar projects whose construction starts after that must be placed in service by the end of 2027. Under previous law, project developers would have been able to claim a 30% tax credit through 2032.

BREAKING NEWS Orlando Magic star Paolo Banchero agrees eye-watering contract extension that could become third richest ever

Orlando Magic power forward Paolo Banchero has agreed a sensational five-year, $239million maximum rookie contract extension that could one day reach $287m, according to reports. Banchero has checked a lot of boxes since joining Orlando in 2021; winning rookie of the year, being named an All-Star and helping the team to the playoffs twice. And now the Magic are betting on there being more - much more. The 22-year-old has agreed to the richest contract in franchise history, a five-year extension with the potential to become the third most-expensive in history should he gain eligibility for a supermax deal, a person with knowledge of the agreement said Monday. ESPN, which first reported the agreement, claims the deal also includes a player option for the final year - the first time a rookie max extension has had a player option since 2021, when Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks completed their rookie max contracts. The agreement means the Magic now have four players - Banchero, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs and the newly acquired Desmond Bane - under contract for the next four seasons. And in the cases of the former trio, the terms extend out at least five seasons. Banchero was the rookie of the year in 2022-23, living up to his billing after being the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA draft. He was an All-Star in his second season and was well on his way to that again last season before an early-season oblique injury. He finished the season averaging 25.9 points and 7.5 rebounds, both career highs, and led the Magic to the playoffs for a second consecutive year. He'll play the final year of his rookie deal this season, at about $15.3m. His salary - depending on whether the supermax provisions are met or not - would then jump to either around $41m or $49m for 2026-27, when the extension kicks in. The contract tops the $224m extension that Wagner signed last summer to stay with the Magic. That was a team record at the time, though it was expected then that Banchero's next deal with the Magic would surpass it. Boston Celtics hero Jayson Tatum currently holds the record for the richest NBA deal in history, having penned a five-year, $315m extension with the team in 2024. His Celtics teammate Jaylen Brown also agreed a five-year, $304m supermax extension with Boston in the summer of 2023. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who helped the Oklahoma City Thunder win the NBA Championship last month, recently put pen to paper on a four-year, $285m deal - which is the third most expensive NBA deal ever. Should Banchero go on to meet all the necessary requirements, his maximum deal could one day become the third richest in history.

The company said that Hider will assume his new role no later than September 3, taking over from Almeida, who stepped down in February. Almeida's retirement followed Baxter's $3.8 billion spinoff of its kidney care unit. During his tenure, Baxter acquired hospital bed-maker Hill-Rom for $10.5 billion and shifted its focus away from the biopharma business. Under Almeida's leadership, the company's shares more than doubled to $90 in the initial years, only to shed gains during the post-pandemic years.
