Georgia football secures another 5-star commit
Prothro said that he made up his mind after his official visits. He thanked God, his parents, his high school and community, and his coaches ahead of his commitment.
"I will be taking my talents to the University of Georgia," said Prothro after he touched the hats of several of his top schools. Prothro committed to Georgia over Alabama, Florida, Auburn and Texas.
"Go Dawgs!" said Prothro after his commitment.
Prothro is ranked as a five-star recruit. He's the No. 25 recruit in the nation and was a key in-state target for coach Kirby Smart and Georgia.
Georgia previously missed out on No. 1 tight end Mark Bowman, so Kaiden Prothro became an even bigger priority for the Bulldogs. Georgia already has a commitment from four-star tight end prospects Lincoln Keyes and Brayden Fogle. Prothro was projected to play for UGA, per Rivals' Steve Wiltfong.
Prothro is a versatile player that, despite being listed as a tight end, could excel in various roles in college. Some teams envision him as a jumbo X receiver, while others see him as a flex tight end with the potential to develop into an in-line weapon. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound pass catcher has excellent length, but will be looking to add weight to play tight end in the SEC.
Prothro plays high school football for Bowdon High School in Bowdon, Georgia. He is the third-ranked tight end prospect in the class of 2026 and the third-ranked player in Georgia. Prothro and Bowdon have won three straight state championships in football. Prothro is Georgia's 28th commitment in the class of 2026, which is ranked second in the nation.

Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu to compete in 3-point contest at WNBA All-Star Game
Sabrina Ionescu posted a cryptic Instagram story Friday with a photo from her 3-point shootout with Stephen Curry at last year's NBA All-Star that was accompanied by several eyeball emojis. We've got you covered on the Liberty beat Join Post Sports+ for exciting subscriber-only features, including real-time texting with Madeline Kenney about all things Liberty and WNBA. tRY IT NOW The post led many to believe that it was Ionescu subtly announcing her plans to participate in the 3-point contest at WNBA All-Star later this week. Ionescu confirmed to The Post after Sunday's win that people's assumptions were correct, saying she'll indeed be a part of Friday's 3-point contest in Indianapolis. She joins Mystics rookie Sonia Citron as the only two players confirmed to be participating, though there's a strong belief that Fever star Caitlin Clark will join in the fun, too, given that her team's city is hosting the event. This will be Ionescu's second time being part of the WNBA's 3-point contest and her first since she won the event in 2023. Sabrina Ionescu of the Liberty reacts during the second half against the Atlanta Dream at Barclays Center on July 13, 2025 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. The Liberty won 79-72. Getty Images During that memorable final round, Ionescu scored a record 37 points. Not only was it enough to win the competition but it also broke the previous WNBA and NBA single-round record. Ionescu also went head-to-head against Stephen Curry at the 2024 NBA All-Star weekend. The Warriors star bested Ionescu with a score of 29-26, but it was a huge hit. Asked about potentially going head-to-head with Clark specifically, Ionescu said, 'I gotta get through to the second round. Who even knows if I'm in the second round.' Sabrina Ionescu competes in a 3-point shootout against Steph Curry on July 14, 2025. NBAE via Getty Images Ionescu, who earned her first All-Star nod this year, is a career 35.9 percent shooter from downtown. This season, she's made 47 3-pointers — tied for third most in the league — while shooting a career-low 32.4 percent from deep. The Liberty waived guard Marquesha Davis ahead of Sunday's mid-season cut down deadline or the last day teams could waive unprotected (non-guaranteed) contracts without financial penalty. The move gives the Liberty more financial flexibility moving forward and opens a roster spot in case they want to add another player. Coach Sandy Brondello said pregame roster moves like Sunday's are always 'tough decisions.' Davis, the No. 11 pick in 2024, appeared in only nine games this season — mostly in garbage time. 'She didn't get many opportunities but we felt growth in these last two years,' Brondello said. 'She's learned to play, compete and be better as a pro, what it takes to play at this level.' If Davis clears waivers, the Liberty could potentially bring her back on a seven-day deal. She could also sign elsewhere. Nyara Sabally recorded a career-high four blocks Sunday against the Dream. Sabally blocked both Dream bigs Brittney Griner and Brionna Jones in the fourth quarter to help the Liberty seal a much-needed win. 'That kind of saved us,' Breanna Stewart said. 'And she just didn't give up.' Sabally also contributed seven points, nine rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes.

49ers' Christian McCaffrey and model Olivia Culpo welcome first child: ‘A love like no other'
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo announced Sunday the birth of their first child — and revealed her name. The couple announced the news in a joint Instagram post with a simple caption: 'Colette Annalisa McCaffrey' and a white heart emoji. The post included black-and-white photos of McCaffrey and Culpo in a hospital room, with their newborn in their arms. The couple, who didn't disclose where the baby was born, announced in March that they were expecting their first child. McCaffrey, 29, and Culpo, 33, started dating in 2019 and married in June 2024. In addition to the post, Culpo shared on her Instagram story a photo of McCaffrey gazing at their baby in the hospital. 'Colette is so lucky to have the best daddy in the world,' Culpo wrote. 'A love like no other.' The model and actress also shared a photo of herself holding onto McCaffrey's arm during their daughter's birth. 'The scariest and most rewarding of all experiences,' she wrote. 'As soon as he came into the room I felt most at peace. Look at the grip.' The news comes as the 2025 NFL preseason kicks off next month. McCaffrey is looking to rebound after injuries that cut his season short. The 49ers, who lost to the Chiefs in overtime during the Super Bowl in February 2024, missed the playoffs last season.

Steelers' Aaron Rodgers' heartwarming interaction at celebrity golf game goes viral
Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers is making waves at a celebrity golf game — and it has nothing to do with his score. Rodgers, one of the NFL's most active golf enthusiasts, recently attended the 2025 American Century Championship, a three-day celebrity golf tournament featuring some of the biggest stars in sports — but it was a heartwarming moment with a young fan that caught the attention of many. In a video originally posted on Instagram by user Weslysniped, Rodgers invited a young child onto the golf course to take a picture with him — a moment that clearly meant the world to the young fan, evident from his ear-to-ear grin (courtesy of itsbree33 on X). Not all the headlines were as positive from Rodgers' recent attendance at the American Century Championship — as his interaction with a potential "autograph hound" went viral for all the wrong and hilarious reasons. The polar-opposite narratives painted by these two interactions reflect Rodgers' polarizing reception in Pittsburgh — but make no mistake, the four-time MVP is blocking out the noise and gearing up to lead a loaded Steelers roster in 2025.
