4-star TE recruit projected to commit to Georgia over LSU, Penn State
The Georgia Bulldogs are projected to land an elite tight end prospect, but it is not in-state five-star Kaiden Prothro, who is expected to announce his commitment on July 12. Four-star Brayden Fogle plans to announce his commitment on July 4 and is predicted to commit to Georgia over Penn State and LSU, per Chad Simmons of Rivals. Fogle is a member of the class of 2026 and recently released a top three of Georgia, Penn State and LSU. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound tight end plays high school football for Lexington High School in Lexington, Ohio. Lexington is located about an hour north of Columbus. Fogel is the No. 8 tight end prospect in the country. He is the No. 6 recruit in Ohio and the No. 132 recruit in the nation, per 247Sports. If Fogel commits to Georgia, he would be UGA's second tight end commit in the class of 2026. Georgia already has a commitment from four-star tight end recruit Lincoln Keyes. The Bulldogs are expected to be in the mix for Prothro. Georgia has signed three tight ends in a single recruiting class in the past, so it is possible Georgia would take all three tight end prospects. Georgia could lose junior tight end Lawson Luckie and senior tight end Oscar Delp to the 2026 NFL draft, so Georgia's tight end room could use a few reinforcements next year. Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs inched closer to having the top recruiting class for 2026 on Saturday, scoring a commitment from 5-star Kaiden Prothro. The 6-foot-6 tight end out of Bowdon, Georgia chose to stay close to home, choosing Georgia over Texas and Florida. Prothro is ranked as the No.2 TE in the country and the No.4 recruit in the state of Georgia, according to Rivals. Prothro is the second 5-star for Georgia in this recruiting cycle, with quarterback Jared Curtis committing in May. Lining up mostly at receiver, Prothro helped propel his school to three straight Georgia 1A D2 state championships. Prothro averaged 20.7 points per game in basketball and was named an all-region outfielder in baseball, according to 247 Sports. At 6-foot-6 and 210 pounds, Prothro's measurables make him a mismatch on the field, with 247 Sports analyst Hudson Standish calling him a red-zone cheat code. Standish believes that his skills show NFL potential. "Rare traits for the position combined with outstanding high school production on Fridays and when matched up against elite recruits in offseason settings suggest immense NFL Draft upside," said Standish. Georgia football secures another 5-star commit
The Georgia Bulldogs have secured a commitment from another five-star recruit. Elite tight end Kaiden Prothro has committed to Georgia, which continues Georgia's hot streak on the recruiting trail. Prothro said that he made up his mind after his official visits. He thanked God, his parents, his high school and community, and his coaches ahead of his commitment. "I will be taking my talents to the University of Georgia," said Prothro after he touched the hats of several of his top schools. Prothro committed to Georgia over Alabama, Florida, Auburn and Texas. Prothro is a versatile player that, despite being listed as a tight end, could excel in various roles in college. Some teams envision him as a jumbo X receiver, while others see him as a flex tight end with the potential to develop into an in-line weapon. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound pass catcher has excellent length, but will be looking to add weight to play tight end in the SEC. Prothro plays high school football for Bowdon High School in Bowdon, Georgia. He is the third-ranked tight end prospect in the class of 2026 and the third-ranked player in Georgia. It's no surprise to see, given that he's a Georgia native and Kirby Smart and his staff are known for developing tight ends. However, there is still plenty of time for Florida and Texas to make a push before he announces his decision.
