Why Jamie Lee Curtis Regrets Getting Plastic Surgery at 25
isn't claiming to be perfect.
The Freaky Friday actress detailed how a comment made by a cinematographer on the set of her 1985 film Perfect costarring John Travolta pushed her to undergo plastic surgery.
"He was like, 'Yeah I'm not shooting her today. Her eyes are baggy,'" Jamie Lee recalled in a May 11 interview with 60 Minutes. "I was 25. For him to say that was very embarrassing. So as soon as the movie finished, I ended up having some plastic surgery."
"Not well," she added when she was asked how it went. "That's just not what you want to do when you're 25 or 26. I regretted it immediately and have kind of, sort of regretted it since."
The Oscar winner added that she has "way" more remorse for her decision now.
That's because, as Jamie Lee explained, "I've become a really public advocate to say to women, 'You're gorgeous and you're perfect the way you are,' so... oh, yeah. It was not a good thing for me to do."

The 66-year-old had previously revealed that Gordon Willis, an Oscar-nominated cinematographer who died in 2014, was behind the devastating comment and pinpointed it as a the moment that her struggles with addiction began.
"Right after that movie I went and had an eye job," she told The New Yorker in 2019. "That's when I found Vicodin, and the cycle of addiction began with that."
The Everything Everywhere All At Once star told 60 Minutes that she's 26 years sober now before further elaborating on her substance abuse issues.
"I became very enamored with the warm bath of an opiate," she said. "You know, drank a little bit, never to excess, never any big public demonstrations. I was very quiet, very private about it. But it it became a dependency for sure."
Jamie Lee also called attention to the iconic scene from Perfect where she wears a leotard while teaching a fitness class.
"Of course, I look really good in a leotard," she noted. "Believe me, I've seen enough pictures of me in that leotard where even I go like, 'Really? Come on.'"

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who played Theo Huxtable on ‘The Cosby Show,' dies at 54
Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the Emmy-nominated actor who starred as Theo Huxtable for eight seasons on 'The Cosby Show,' has reportedly died. He was 54. Warner was on vacation with his family in Costa Rica when he accidentally drowned while swimming, People confirmed Monday. In addition to 'The Cosby Show,' Warner amassed dozens of TV credits, including four seasons as the lead actor on 'Malcolm & Eddie' and six seasons as A.J. Austin on 'The Resident.' Other appearances included work on 'Sons of Anarchy,' 'Major Crimes,' 'Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce' and 'Suits.' Warner also won one Grammy for traditional R&B performance in 2015 and was nominated for spoken-word poetry album in 2023. Of course, he was asked for his thoughts on co-star Bill Cosby when Cosby was accused of rape in 2015. 'He's one of my mentors, and he's been very influential and played a big role in my life as a friend and mentor,' Warner told Billboard. 'Just as it's painful to hear any woman talk about sexual assault, whether true or not, it's just as painful to watch my friend and mentor go through this.'

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who starred as Theo on 'Cosby Show,' dies in drowning at 54: Reports
Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the actor best known for his role as Theodore Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," has died at 54. The Emmy-nominated actor drowned off the coast of Costa Rica on Sunday, July 20, ABC News and People report. Costa Rican National Police confirmed to ABC News that Warner died after being caught by a high current in the water while swimming near Cocles, a beach in Limon, Costa Rica. ABC News reports the actor was formally identified by police. USA TODAY has reached out to Warner's reps. In addition to eight seasons on the hit NBC sitcom as the son of Bill Cosby's Cliff Huxtable and Phylicia Rashad's Clair Huxtable, Warner was also known for his role as Malcolm McGee in the 1990s UPN sitcom "Malcolm & Eddie" and as Dr. AJ Austin on the Fox medical drama "The Resident" from 2018 to 2023. But it is his role as the lovable but at times clueless teen son of the Huxtables that made Warner a household name in the 1980s. Warner also served as the voice of The Producer in the PBS children's series "The Magic School Bus." He directed episodes of "The Cosby Show," "All That," "Kenan & Kel" and "Malcolm & Eddie." The "Reed Between the Lines" actor also dabbled in music and poetry, going on to win a Grammy Award for best traditional R&B performance for the song "Jesus Children" in 2015, and receive a nomination for best spoken word poetry album for "Hiding in Plain View" in 2023. Shaunagh Connaire, Former Communications Director for George and Amal Clooney's Justice Foundation, Sets Directorial Debut ‘Brown Bread' (EXCLUSIVE)
Shaunagh Connaire, the two-time Emmy-nominated Irish journalist who has produced documentaries for the likes of the BBC and PBS Frontline and also served as communication director for George and Amal Clooney's Foundation for Justice, has made her directorial debut. 'Brown Bread,' which is set to have its world premiere at the upcoming Galway Film Fleadh, is a short film that marks Connaire's first foray into narrative drama, turning her storytelling lens toward emigration and family tension in modern Ireland. More from Variety CNN's Live 'Good Night, and Good Luck' Telecast Spurs Special Coverage CNN to Exclusively Air George Clooney's Record-Breaking Broadway Hit 'Good Night, and Good Luck' Live for Free Joe Biden Didn't Recognize Old Friend George Clooney at 2024 Fundraiser: Report The film — described by Connaire as a 'modern twist on the Irish emigration story' — is led by Emmy-winning actress Fionnula Flanagan ('Lost,' 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes'), Katie McGrath ('Merlin,' 'Supergirl') and Dermot Crowley ('Luther: The Fallen Sun,' 'The Death of Stalin'). Inspired by Connaire's own experience of being unable to return to Ireland from the U.S. for her godmother's funeral, 'Brown Bead' follows Áine (McGrath), a woman whose return to Ireland from New York to attend her godmother's memorial mass stirs up old tensions, grief, and unspoken affection in her rural family home. Flanagan stars as Betty, a proud but emotionally restrained mother struggling with her daughter's return, while Crowley plays Áine's father Seamus. 'I was very lucky to have spent the last three years working with George and Amal Clooney as Director of Communications at their foundation. I think being in their presence and learning a little bit about the world of Hollywood, gave me the confidence to enter this world,' said Connaire. 'Brown Bread was my first time stepping onto a drama set. For the past decade I've documented the opioid epidemic in the US, the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and the migrant crisis in the Middle East — environments where the stakes were very real. This film was a different kind of intensity, but just as meaningful in its own way.' Producer Julie Ryan ('The Young Offenders') of MK1 Studios came aboard the film after reading the script. 'Shaunagh and I have known each other since college, so this felt like a natural fit. I was immediately struck by the script. It was sharp, funny, and full of emotional truth. She's a hugely talented writer and director with a strong sense of tone and storytelling,' said Ryan. 'With the market shifting, short film is a valuable space to develop voice and vision. It gives new filmmakers the freedom to take creative risks and tell distinctive stories on their own terms.' 'Brown Bread' was filmed in Connaire's hometown of Longford, with support from Creative Ireland's Longford branch and local community. The film was written and directed by Connaire, produced by Ryan for MK1 Studios, with Sam and Amelia Dennigan and Anne Heraty as associate producers.
