Union Minister Amit Shah inaugurates cooperative complex in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 28 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed Cooperative Complex built by Adroda Mandali Cooperative Limited in Gujarat's Ahmedabad.
Earlier on Friday, Union Minister Shah visited the Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET) in Gandhinagar and conducted a review meeting for the development of libraries, calling the library a primary centre for learning about education, culture, and history.
Shah also planted a sapling on the premises.
In a post on X, Amit Shah said, 'The library is a primary centre for learning about education, culture, and history.'
'Today, I visited the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) centre located in my Lok Sabha constituency, Gandhinagar, and reviewed the development of libraries. Through INFLIBNET, libraries are being continuously developed by integrating them with cutting-edge technologies, enabling them to also serve as support centres for curious children in the field of R&D. Additionally, the mobile app of 'Sastu Sahitya Vardhak Karyalaya' was launched. This app will prove to be very useful for book lovers in obtaining their favourite books,' he added.
Amit Shah offered prayers at the over 400-year-old Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad on the occasion of Rath Yatra. He offered the 'mangala aarti' at 4 am and shared a heartfelt post on his official 'X' account, reflecting on his divine experience.
'On the sacred occasion of Rath Yatra, participating in the Mangla Aarti at Shri Jagannath Temple, Ahmedabad, is in itself a divine and extraordinary experience. Today, I joined the Mangla Aarti of Mahaprabhu and offered my prayers. May Mahaprabhu continue to bestow His blessings on all', Amit Shah's 'X' post read.
The Union Minister also extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of the sacred Jagannath Rath Yatra, describing the festival as a 'unique confluence of faith and devotion.'
'Hail Jagannath! Heartfelt greetings to all on the sacred festival of Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra. The Rath Yatra of Shri Jagannath Ji is a unique confluence of faith and devotion, which teaches us that moving forward while cherishing devotion, culture, and heritage is at the core of our being. Describing Nag's work as rich in philosophy and deeply rooted in cultural wisdom, Pradhan stressed the need for broader efforts to preserve and promote his writings at all levels. 'Literature is a tool that activates the consciousness of an individual. It constantly stirs intellectual waves and builds new emotions. While not everyone becomes a writer, literature resides in everyone. Its need is universal,' said Pradhan while addressing the gathering. He further emphasised the importance of imparting education in mother tongues to nurture original thinking and creativity among students. On the occasion, several books, anthologies, and collections based on Haldhar Nag's life and literary works were unveiled. Higher Education and Culture minister Suraj Suryabanshi, local MPs, MLAs, and public representatives were also present at the inaugural session.

Kotia Rath Yatra sees political unity, development buzz as leaders join forces
KORAPUT/JEYPORE: Amid the rhythmic beats of drums, resonating conch shells, and vibrant chants of Hari Bol, Rath Yatra was celebrated at Adim Srikhetra in Koraput's Kotia panchayat headquarters on Friday. Thousands of devotees, including members of tribal communities from across Koraput and adjoining regions, gathered to pull the beautifully decorated wooden chariot of the holy Trinity. Deputy chief minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Revenue minister Suresh Pujari, School and Mass Education minister Nityananda Gond, Steel and Mines and Transport minister Bibhuti Jena, and Fisheries & Animal Husbandry minister Gokulananda Mallick joined villagers in pulling the chariot. The festival witnessed a rare moment of political unity, with Koraput MP Saptagiri Shankar Ulaka, who is from the Congress, and other opposition leaders also pulling the chariot. Other leaders including Balabhadra Majhi, Jeypore MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati, CLP Leader Ramachandra Kadam, and former MP Jayaram Pangi also joined the celebration. The Kotia Jagannath Temple, established 22 years ago with the inspiration of Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, has grown into a potent symbol of Odisha's cultural sovereignty in the disputed Kotia region. This year's celebration, however, stood out as historic.

Congress will pay price for neglecting SES-2015, claims Union Minister Bhupender Yadav
BENGALURU: Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav on Saturday predicted that the Congress in Karnataka will meet the same fate as its national counterpart as it has ignored the Socio-Economic Educational Survey-2015 (caste census report). Delivering the keynote address at the seminar 'Caste Census: Retrospective-Prospective' organised by the Social Justice Awareness Forum at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Yadav said that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his government and LoP in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi were anti-backward classes. The Karnataka government had recently shelved the caste census of 2015 and opted for a fresh survey. Yadav said that the Congress lost power at the Centre because it ignored the Kaka Kalelkar Commission report recommending the upliftment of backward classes socially and educationally. He expressed confidence that when the backward classes become aware that the Congress is averse to their upliftment in Karnataka, it will not be able to return to power. 'Why did those who (Rahul Gandhi) keep the Constitution in their pockets not implement the Kaka Kalelkar Commission report? After the country became independent from the Emergency and from family rule, the Janata Party came to power at the Centre. It also formed the Mandal Commission. The Congress was out of power when the issue of justice for OBCs came to the fore. But when it came to power a few years later, it had ignored the Mandal Commission report as it did it with the Kaka Kalelkar report,' Yadav said, adding that the BJP-backed VP Singh government implemented the Mandal Commission report and got reservation for OBCs.
