Also simply the best: Bristol & West AC runners are celebrating winning the ultimate accolade in British endurance running after becoming National Road Relay Champions, adding that to their National Cross Country Championship earlier this season.
Getting it done: Bristol City cemented their place in the Championship top six by beating 10-man Sunderland 2-1 at Ashton Gate on Good Friday.
Night glow: The lights of the many rides and stalls at Funderworld on The Downs are not just illuminating that part of the city, but the taller rides can be seen from miles away.

Recognition: The team at Common Ambition Bristol, which aims to reverse HIV health inequalities in the city, has been given a national award. Common Ambition raises awareness of HIV in African and Caribbean heritage communities through dedicated clinics and community events.
Lifesavers: Staff from University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) have been providing crucial liver scans to people in the city's homeless community with the support of the Big Issue under the "Alright My Liver?" scheme.

A major WWE match announced for SummerSlam 2025 is in serious jeopardy after a top superstar wasn't allowed to travel back to the United States. On the first night of the August 2 and 3 double header, Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul are set to face Randy Orton and Grammy Award-winning singer Jelly Roll in a tag team match. McIntyre, known as the Scottish Warrior, has been back in the UK for a friend's wedding in England over the weekend, but he's now claimed he was stopped from boarding his flight back to the US where he has lived for a number of years. 'There's now a good chance I don't make #SummerSlam,' he captioned a video on X as he talking into his phone camera from a field. 'It's quite a week I've had. You wanna know how it's been capped off? i can't get back into America, They wouldn't let me board my flight,' he said in the video. 'I'm in England still, at my buddy's wedding – what a wedding it was. Planning to go back, train for SummerSlam, but no, no, no, no, I got blocked. **Warning – the below video includes strong language** 'Wife and I walked up to the gate, trying to check in, always goes perfectly fine. Not this time.' McIntyre noted that there was an issue with his documentation, despite never having a problem any of the other times he's been travelling. He continued: ''Drew, you don't have your US passport. I know who you are. I know you've lived there for a long time, I know you're showing me pictures of your US passport, and your global entry. ''I know exactly who you are, your property and the likes. But no, we can't let you in the country buddy. 'So my wife and I panic, we say we've got a sick animal at home, we're good people, we care about our animals, we care about people. In the end, his wife travelled back alone 'against her will' to see their pet cat, while McIntyre had to turn around and leave the airport. Ever the professional, the former world champion used the real life incident to continue his on-screen feud with Jelly Roll. 'Here I am. So what happened, what changed this trip? Jelly Roll. You know somebody, got some connections? You've got your 15 minutes of fame right now, can get away with some stuff? You're hot, soon you will not be, so you're getting it in when you can,' he quipped. 'You realised when I took off my shirt on SmackDown, you went , 'Oh my God! All that aura, I'm screwed!' Drake leaves fans fuming as he reschedules Manchester gig at last minute
Canadian music sensation Drake is in the midst of a European tour with fellow singer PartyNextDoor - but he has angered some fans by suddenly changing concert dates Music fans have been left in despair as Drake has announced his hotly anticipated concert in Manchester this coming week has been cancelled. The 38-year-old Canadian rap star had been due to thrill fans at the Co-Op Arena on Monday night. But on Sunday, news emerged that the concert had to be abruptly cancelled - due to travel disruption. There was good news, however, as fans of Drake were told the gigs would be rescheduled. The concerts, produced by LiveNation and with Ticketmaster handling ticket sales, would be pushed back to early August, meaning fans had less than a week to change plans to see the star at the recently build music and events venue. However, some fans were still let out as they could not change plans to see the musician on his rescheduled dates. Drake is on the road with fellow Canadian singer PartyNextDoor - the stage name of Jahron Brathwaite, 32. The boys have been entertaining their fans with their $OME $PECIAL $HOWS 4 U tour. News of the change to the advertised plans was released on Sunday. Fans turning to the official Co-Op Arena website were met with a notice detailing the rescheduled concert. A notice warned: "Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled." However, it continued: "The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night. All tickets remain valid for the new date—we can't wait to see you there!" Further details about the headliner and his concert explained: "Five-time Grammy-award winning and multi-platinum global artist Drake announced his highly anticipated return to Europe and the UK with his $ome $pecial $hows 4 UK EU run kicking off this July. "The run will feature PARTYNEXTDOOR on all dates. Produced by Live Nation. The tour marks Drake's first return to Europe and the UK in six years, following his 2019 Assassination Vacation Tour." The change in dates has left some fans disappointed, however. One responded to the news sadly on Instagram, writing: "I'm so sad came way from New York to see the boy." Many others have taken to social media to try and sell their rescheduled tickets as they are no longer able to attend the gig following the switch up of dates. And Drake has also risked turning some fans against him due to the scheduling shambles. One bitterly hit out on X, writing: "so far drake cancelled/rescheduled 3 shows: manchester, belgium and zurich. who the f**k plans his tour dates and why is it that everytime he goes to europe he either cancels the dates or reschedules!!! people travel from other countries to his concerts!!! this is absurd!" Drake and PartyNextDoor have already played two dates in Manchester and a number of shows in London ahead of the rescheduled dates. They head to Amsterdam next before retuning to Manchester the following week. The duo will remain on the road until late September, playing to crowds in Germany, France, Italy, Sweden and more.

World War II series based on 'one of the greatest books ever' is now available to stream

The gripping drama features an ensemble cast and is based on "one of the greatest books ever written". Telly fans are being urged to make sure to catch the mini-series while it is readily available, with viewers hailing the "amazing" cast and "wonderful" retelling of the book. Hulu series Catch-22 first appeared on the small screen in 2019, as an adaptation of Joseph Heller's celebrated 1961 novel of the same name. The series follows the journey of Captain John Yossarian (played by Christopher Abbott) and his comrades during World War II as they carry out their duties for their country. Their freedom depends on finishing a set number of operations. Yet, precisely when they approach their liberation, the mission tally is consistently raised, throwing them back into danger, reports the Express. The ensemble cast also features George Clooney as Scheisskopf, Emmy-winning Argo star Kyle Chandler as Colonel Cathcart, Godfather of Harlem's Rafi Gavron as Aarfy, Reacher's Daniel David Stewart as Milo, and Major Crimes' Graham Patrick Martin as Orr, amongst others. One TV fan gave the show a 10/10 rating on IMDb. They said: "Fantastic. The entire cast of this series is amazing. "It has all the drama and humor but not as slapstick as the movie. I've been glued to the TV since it was released. You will fall in love with these characters and the actors who portray them." A second viewer commented: "Wonderful rendering of the classic satirical novel. This is a very enjoyable watch, especially if you read the book and saw the movie. "The acting is superb and the battle scenes are realistic but not too graphically violent. I appreciate a director and writer who do not feel they must gross us out at every turn. It has a nice subtlety and that was lacking in the original movie." Another reviewer praised it as: "One of the greatest books ever written, certainly as an anti-war film." Speaking about Abbott's performance as John Yossarian, they added: "His face is so emotive and he captured the complexity of his character." Wrapping up, they wrote: "For those of you who totally missed the point and were expecting a regular war movie, did you get what the title means?" A fourth viewer hailed it as "a must watch" and said: "Perfect mix of comedy and drama. Made me laugh one second and get emotional the next."
