Rajnath Singh Refuses To Sign SCO Statement Over Pahalgam Snub, Balochistan Mention | India vs Pak
In a bold move at the SCO Defence Ministers' meeting in Qingdao, China, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh refused to sign the joint statement after it failed to mention the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians and included a reference to Balochistan. India strongly objected, seeing this as a veiled accusation pushed by Pakistan and China. Singh reaffirmed India's zero tolerance towards terrorism and emphasized that peace cannot coexist with cross-border terror. He cited the Pahalgam massacre by Lashkar proxy The Resistance Front and defended India's right to act decisively through actions like Operation Sindoor. This diplomatic stand underlines New Delhi's growing assertiveness on global platforms. Centre missed chance to end threat permanently: VBA chief on Op Sindoor
1 2 Nagpur: Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) president Prakash Ambedkar criticized the Centre on Sunday for what he termed a failure to act decisively after Operation Sindoor . Referring to Pahalgam attack, he said, "India has ability to dismantle its adversaries. It was a clear opportunity to resolve the longstanding security threats permanently." Ambedkar was speaking at an event organized by the Phule Ambedkar Intellectual Forum at Parvana Bhavan. Discussing the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) issue, Ambedkar said, "Even Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar lost his first election from Mumbai, and one major reason for that loss was the PoK issue. He always believed that we should either fully integrate Kashmir or let it go entirely. If neither happens, future generations will face the consequences." The VBA chief added that Babasaheb's approach was not supported by certain political factions of the time, which opposed his stance and contributed to his electoral defeat, as Babasaheb had stated then. Ambedkar further criticized the lack of international support during Operation Sindoor, noting that even neighbouring countries, typically seen as allies, did not stand with India. He said no current political party has the courage to openly address the reality. However, he emphasized that those who support Shahu-Phule- Ambedkar Ideologies are in a position to raise these critical issues and must take responsibility for doing so.

INDIA bloc may move court over SIR: Digvijaya
Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Sunday said all constituents of INDIA bloc may knock the door of judiciary against the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral roll in Bihar if the Election Commission does not accept Opposition parties objections about the drive. Singh accused the NDA government at the Centre of trying to erase the names of poor and marginalised voters from the electoral rolls through SIR ahead of the assembly polls in the state. "The SIR drive of the ECI is a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise poor, tribal, young, flood-affected, and migrant voters in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections . All constituents of INDIA bloc may knock the door of judiciary against the ongoing SIR of the electoral roll in Bihar if the ECI does not accept the Opposition's objections about the drive. Is it possible to conduct house-to-house verification of around eight crore voters within 25 days by the ECI in Bihar, he asked. The SIR drive has been launched just a few months before the state polls, he said, adding, "The ECI should have taken the opinion of all political parties before launching this drive."

Must find internal reset for Pakistan bother at the SCO
India needs to assess why it lacks clout in the 10-member grouping that China dominates, though its relationship with the latter is on the mend. Beijing's cliche of a dance between the dragon and the elephant apart, China's tango with its client state Pakistan is the most visible at the moment. Evolving consensus when the aggressor and the victim of terror have an equal say is tough if the latter does not have a strong counterweight. It is not without reason that India excluded SCO member states from the global outreach programme by multi-party delegations of parliament to explain its post-Pahalgam strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and the refusal to give in to nuclear blackmail. India needs a balm for the Pakistan headache. It must engage with SCO but with calibrated expectations. While exposing the double standards of those who deny cross-border terror, India must also invest more in deterrence and diplomatic assertiveness. The message should go out that multilateral organisations not calling out all variants of terror disrespect their fundamental objectives.
