APSSDC, OMCAP ink MoU with Matrix Overseas to facilitate global job opportunities for Andhra Pradesh youth
The partnership deal, signed at the APSSDC office at Tadepalli on Friday (June 13), is a key initiative under the Skill International Programme of the Department of Skill Development and Training, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Executive Director, APSSDC, and General Manager of OMCAP D. Manohar, said the partnership is aimed at enhancing the global employability of youth from the State by upgrading their skills to meet international standards.
Through this collaboration, a pilot training programme has been launched targeting unemployed youth in the skilled welders and pipe fitters sector. The programme is designed to align with global workforce requirements and facilitate overseas placements for qualified candidates, he informed.
Mr. Manohar emphasised the rise in global demand for skilled manpower and reiterated the State's commitment to equipping its youth with the capabilities needed to access international employment opportunities.
Key stakeholders, including representatives of Matrix Overseas Services Private Limited Shiju Varkey and C. James and General Manager, APSSDC G. Kishore Kumar, were present.

Quantum Valley initiative will change the face of Andhra Pradesh, says Vijayawada MP
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) on Friday said the Quantum Valley initiative launched by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would transform Andhra Pradesh in the coming years. He was speaking after inaugurating a mega job mela organised by the Kesineni Foundation in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) at P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Science. Mr. Sivanath said the government was not only focused on job creation but also on promoting entrepreneurship through the Society for Employment and Entrepreneurship Development in Andhra Pradesh (SEEDAP). He said large-scale skill development programmes were being conducted for unemployed youth with provisions for free food and accommodation, and urged youth to utilise such opportunities for success. He also announced that the Kesineni Foundation, in association with APSSDC and NTR Vikas, would organise similar job melas every three months in various constituencies of the NTR district. Over 40 companies participated in the mela, offering employment opportunities to candidates with SSC, Intermediate, ITI, Diploma, degree, and PG qualifications. Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan stated that the government was targeting the creation of 20 lakh jobs in the next four years. District Collector G. Lakshmisha said Vijayawada had no shortage of talent and highlighted the government's emphasis on youth employment and skill development. College Principal M. Ramesh, District Skill Development Officer S. Srinivasa Rao, and officials from various departments attended the event. International Conference The two-day International Conference on Recent Innovations in Computer Science and Technology (ICRICT) will be held on July 21 and 22 at P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Science. Vice-president of Pi Data Centre Pvt. Ltd., Mangalagiri, Abhinav Kotagiri, and Professor Neeraj Upadhyay from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SRM University, will be the chief guests. AP minister urges rice millers to supply 10% broken rice under Centre's new procurement drive
VIJAYAWADA: Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar has called upon rice millers in the State to be prepared to supply custom milled rice (CMR) with 10% broken rice to the Centre as part of the Centre's new procurement initiative. At a meeting held at the Civil Supplies Bhavan in Kanuru, Vijayawada, he said the pilot project undertaken in East Godavari, West Godavari, Konaseema and Eluru districts was successful, with 10,000 metric tonnes of paddy procured in compliance with Central norms. The Centre plans to procure 50 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from five States, including Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Manohar said AP has been given a clear target, and urged rice millers to submit proposals confirming their willingness to supply rice with exactly 10% broken content as per FCI specifications. Manohar advised millers to complete testing, packing, and transport arrangements in line with Central guidelines and meet the supply deadlines. Explaining the importance of adherence to norms, the Civil Supplies Minister said providing quality rice on time would enhance the image of 'Brand Andhra Pradesh' at the national level.
