The two top diplomats highlighted flagrant crimes and violations committed by Israel against Palestinians, amid the unprecedented humanitarian situation in Gaza, said spokesman for the foreign ministry Tamim Khallaf.
Abdelatty and Sheikh Mohammed stressed their full commitment to continuing negotiations between Israel and Hamas to reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement as soon as possible, which contributes to allowing the access of humanitarian and relief aid into the Palestinian territory and putting an end to the repeated crimes committed by Israel.
The pair also addressed the latest updates regarding Egypt's hosting of an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, which aims to implement the Arab-Islamic plan for the reconstruction of the Palestinian enclave.
They underlined the importance of sustaining joint coordination between the two countries and mobilizing international backing for establishing a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. (MENA)

CAIRO, Aug 4 (MENA) - Participants in the sixth edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference, held over two days in Cairo, reaffirmed their unwavering support for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his leadership in advancing Egypt's stability and comprehensive development. They extended their deepest appreciation to President Sisi for his continued directives to state institutions, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, to provide care and facilitate services for Egyptians living abroad. The participants expressed their strong commitment to supporting Egypt's development by contributing their expertise, knowledge, and investments. They also voiced their full support for the President's firm stance in defending Egypt's sovereignty and confronting regional challenges, especially his firm opposition to the forced displacement of the Palestinian people. They underlined Egypt's historic role in advocating for the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital. The conference highlighted support for Egypt's balanced foreign policy, which upholds justice, peace, cooperation, and development, while safeguarding national security and preserving the rights and dignity of Egyptian citizens at home and abroad. Participants also praised the tangible improvements in consular services, the minister's outreach to Egyptian communities abroad, and the dedicated efforts of Deputy Minister Nabil Habashi, who maintains active communication with expatriates and promptly addresses their needs. The conference welcomed several initiatives launched to support expatriates, including: "Your Home in Egypt," "Your School in Egypt," "Open Your Account in Egypt," "Your University in Egypt," and "Your Insurance in Egypt." These initiatives have seen growing engagement and reflect a broader strategy to strengthen ties with the diaspora. Notable agreements were signed during the conference, including a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education to implement the "Your School in Egypt" initiative and another between the Deputy Minister and the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) to implement the "Your Insurance in Egypt" initiative. The conference also offered various incentives and services from government institutions, economic bodies, banks, the Egyptian Postal Service, and sports clubs, targeting the interests of Egyptians abroad. According to the final communiqué, the discussions resulted in a series of recommendations, including expanding the digitalization of consular services; digitally verifying work contracts for Egyptians abroad; enhancing banking services through initiatives like "Open Your Account in Egypt" and updating banking data at Egyptian missions; launching new phases of the "Housing for Egyptians Abroad" initiative with income-based options; easing access to higher education in Egypt for children of expatriates holding foreign or equivalent certificates; and creating a unified digital platform to streamline procedures for renewing secondment and leaves for government employees abroad. Participants praised the Ministry of Higher Education's digital platform for renewing faculty secondment and welcomed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' role in disseminating the platform through diplomatic missions. Additional recommendations included renewing the initiative allowing duty-free car imports by Egyptians abroad; studying the implementation of electronic voting for overseas Egyptians during elections and referendums; increasing EgyptAir flights to countries with large Egyptian communities; facilitating access to affordable legal consultation abroad in collaboration with Egyptian legal experts; establishing communication channels for expatriate professionals to provide technical consultation to entrepreneurs in Egypt and contribute to technology transfer and export promotion. In their closing remarks, Minister Abdelatty and Deputy Minister Habashi expressed gratitude to participants for their active engagement and continued dedication to supporting Egypt. Habashi concluded by saying "Every nation's true shield is its people, confident in their leadership and the strength of their institutions. As Egypt provides us with shelter and sustenance, we, in turn, pledge to protect and honor it. May Egypt remain strong and proud, with the unwavering loyalty of its sons, both at home and abroad.
