BJP delegation seeks Guv's intervention to deport Pakistanis from State

Hans India07-05-2025
Hyderabad: A BJP delegation met with State Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and urged him to instruct the state government to take immediate action to deport any illegally residing Pakistani nationals from the state and Hyderabad.
The delegation, included BJP MP Dr K Laxman, State Vice-President Dr G Vijaya Rama Rao, former MLAs Ch Ramachandra Reddy and S Venkateswara Rao, and State Party Secretary Bangaru Sruthi, met the Governor Jishnu Dev Verma on Tuesday at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum. The BJP leaders expressed their shock over the brutal terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians.
They emphasised that this attack was planned and executed under the direction of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Pakistani Army, leaving the nation in a state of deep mourning. The leaders highlighted that the entire country stands united against this heinous crime, with decent nations around the world supporting India at this moment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to confront these forces decisively so that no terrorists or state sponsors of terrorism can escape accountability.
The Defence Forces have been given a free hand by the Prime Minister to carry out this mission, and the BJP leaders expressed confidence in their capability. They reiterated that all 1.4 billion citizens of India support the Prime Minister and the Defence Forces in this endeavour. In response to this tragic incident, the Central Government has taken significant steps by annulling the Indus Water Treaty, minimising diplomatic relations with Pakistan, cancelling visas issued to Pakistani nationals, and beginning the deportation process within a specified timeframe.
'In light of the Home Ministry's Order No. 25022/28/2025-F.I dated April 25, 2025, and exercising the powers conferred under Section 3(1) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, it has been decided to suspend visa services for Pakistani citizens, excluding long-term, diplomatic, and official visas.'
Given these developments, the BJP leaders urged the prompt identification of all Pakistani nationals residing in various parts of the state without valid documents, including those with expired visas or suspended visas. They emphasised that this is a matter of grave national security and that all such individuals must be identified without delay, with necessary legal action taken immediately.

SP will set up ‘pathshalas' in villageswhere govt has shut schools: Akhilesh

1 2 Lucknow: Accusing the BJP govt of attacking the education system by shutting basic and primary schools in villages, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said his party would set up 'PDA Pathshalas' in such villages. "When SP is voted to form the govt, these schools will be re-opened with better facilities," he said. The announcement came amid reports that the govt has over shut 26,000 and merged another 5000 schools – mostly in rural areas. "Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, we told the people how BJP was conspiring to change the Constitution of India. People voted against them and the BJP could not get the numbers to do so. Now they have started taking steps to weaken the Constitution by shutting schools and depriving the poor of their right to education enshrined in the Constitution," Akhilesh said. "With schools being closed, poor children from PDA families will be deprived of education," he said, talking to the media in Kannauj. Akhilesh called upon party functionaries to rope in retired teachers and educated youth to impart education to children in villages where schools have been closed by the govt. "I urge the retired teachers and educated youths to set up 'PDA Pathshalas' in such villages and impart education to poor children. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pierce Brosnan's Wife Lost 120 Pounds - This Is Her Now Undo We will not let poor children be deprived of education," he said. Akhilesh assured people of his constituency that pathbreaking development projects would be launched in the region after the SP forms govt. "The BJP govt has neglected development projects across the state and particularly in parliamentary constituencies of the opposition leaders," he said. "SP govt had set up a medical college in Kannauj, apart from a host of projects like cow milk plant, perfume park and kisan mandis but the BJP govt stalled these projects halfway through. Had the BJP govt got the medical college operational, it would have provided specialised healthcare to people. The govt did not complete these projects apparently because they were started by the SP govt," Akhilesh said. 'Will defeat BJP in Bihar polls' Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said the opposition will defeat BJP in Bihar polls. Responding to a media query. Akhilesh's comment comes close on the heels of RLD's Tejashwi Yadav saying that the way BJP was manipulating the electoral rolls in Bihar, the opposition may decide to boycott the said the BJP was looking for ways to deny people their right to reservation. "The BJP has coined a new word– NFS (Not Found Suitable) - to deny reservation to the people," he said. This was in apparent reference to appointments in various institutions where candidates were rejected after being termed as 'NFS'. SP alleged that these were mostly candidates from the PDA community.

UP minister Pratibha Shukla protests against own govt again, now over ‘targeting' Brahmins

As per Shukla's close aides, the issue began with a road being constructed using MLA funds in the Badlapur area (Akbarpur Nagar Panchayat) of Kanpur district. A local councillor named Shamshad objected to the location of the road and stopped the work. When Pratibha Shukla found out, she visited the spot of the argument between her supporters and the councillor. Later that evening, based on a complaint by the contractor, a case was filed against Councillor Shamshad for allegedly disrupting government work and demanding money. Pratibha Shukla staged a dharna on 24 and 25 July at Akbarpur police station, accusing that her close aides were specifically targeted by the police. She demanded that the local police inspector be removed. Police officers tried to persuade her to end the protest, but she refused to budge. Lucknow: Months after raising concerns about 'irregularities' in Anganwadi recruitment, Uttar Pradesh's Minister of State, Pratibha Shukla, is once again in the spotlight, but this time for protesting against the state police. Her husband, former MP Anil Shukla Warsi, was also present at the dharna, and claimed that Brahmins are being unfairly targeted in the current government. Later, a cross FIR was filed by a Scheduled Caste resident of Badlapur—Baburam—against several people, including local BJP leader Shiva Pandey, who is close to Shukla. This upset Shukla further, and both husband and wife sat on dharna. Anil Shukla, the minister's husband and a former MP, further escalated the controversy by attacking his own party's MP, Bhole Singh. In a viral video, Anil said that if the BJP hadn't made his wife a minister, he would have contested the 2024 elections from Akbarpur and defeated Bhole Singh. He accused Bhole Singh's men of controlling the police station and causing trouble. In another video, Anil Shukla is seen talking to Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and accusing the government of failing to protect Brahmins. The Deputy CM reportedly cut the call midway. While speaking to the media on Friday, Anil Shukla said that Brahmins are being repeatedly targeted under the current government. He hinted that only one caste is dominating, indirectly referring to MP Bhole Singh, a Thakur, the same caste as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Before Shukla, many other BJP leaders, including MLA Prakash Dwivedi and Dev Mani Dwivedi also, alleged that Brahmins were being targeted in the state. As per a rough estimate, Thakurs make up around 6 percent of Uttar Pradesh's population, while Brahmins constitute around 9 percent. Both communities are seen to have played a key role in bringing the BJP to power in the state for two consecutive terms since 2017. Pratibha Shukla's husband Anil Shukla is a former BSP MP. He joined the BJP in 2015 along with his wife. He has also been part of the Samajwadi Party earlier. In 2017, his wife Pratibha won the Akbarpur-Raniya assembly constituency on a BJP ticket. Later, in 2022, she was appointed Minister of State for Women Welfare, Child Development and Nutrition in the Yogi government. Also read: Whistle-blowers or party snipers? UP ministers' 'letter bombs' leaving Yogi govt red-faced Shukla raised questions earlier too In February, Pratibha Shukla had sparked another controversy when a letter written by her alleging corruption in the Anganwadi recruitment went viral. In it, she accused officials in her department of irregularities in the hiring process. She stated that during her district visits, she received frequent complaints about corruption. She specifically blamed District Programme Officers (DPOs) and their staff for manipulating recruitment procedures. In her letter, she mentioned that during her visits to various districts, she had received numerous complaints about corruption in the hiring process. She noted that everything from accepting applications to shortlisting candidates was being done under the DPO's supervision. Shukla is one of several ministers in Yogi Adityanath's second term who have openly raised concerns about their own government's officials. Before her, leaders like Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, Cabinet Minister Ashish Patel, Nand Kumar Nandi, Sanjay Nishad, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dinesh Pratap Singh, and Minister of State Dinesh Khatik have also questioned bureaucratic functioning on different occasions. Former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar's move to allow the notice is believed to have caused unhappiness within the government. Now that it has been clarified that it was not admitted, it clears the way for LS Speaker Om Birla to choose three members of the probe panel, comprising CJI or an SC judge, an HC chief justice and a jurist, to probe the allegations of corruption against Varma. The RS chairperson would've had an equal say in the matter if RS secretariat ruled otherwise. All parties agree Varma ouster should be a joint call, says Rijiju The decision about Lok Sabha taking up the matter, announced by parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju, was followed by 152 members drawn from all political parties signing the motion. The issue is said to be at the core of former RS chairman and ex-Veep Jagdeep Dhankhar's abrupt resignation on Monday. Dhankhar had accepted the motion signed by 63 opposition members against Justice Yashwant Varma despite the decision at all-party meeting on Sunday that process for the removal of the judge should begin in the LS. Dhankhar's action of accepting opposition's notice is said to have set in motion a chain of events, murmurs of a "secret deal" and, crucially, a move by BJP-led coalition to signal their loss of trust in the Chairman, leading to his surprise exist on "health grounds". Rijiju reiterated Friday that there was a unanimous decision of all political parties to move for the removal of Varma, asserting that the Lok Sabha will take up the motion. "We shouldn't remain in any doubt; proceedings will begin in the Lok Sabha," he said. Section 3, sub-section (2) of the Act says, "If notices of motions for removal of a Judge are given on the same day in both Houses of Parliament, no committee shall be constituted unless the motion has been admitted in both Houses, and where such motion has been admitted in both Houses, the committee shall be constituted jointly by the speaker and the chairman."
