Beach Boys' Mike Love honors late Brian Wilson at Songwriters Hall of Fame induction: ‘I do feel his presence'
That was the mood when the Beach Boys frontman Mike Love was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on Thursday night. The enshrinement at New York's Marriott Marquis came just one day after it was confirmed that his brilliant bandmate — and cousin — Brian Wilson died at 82.
While receiving the prestigious honor, Love, 84, paid tribute to Wilson, with whom he co-wrote Beach Boys classics such as 'I Get Around,' 'California Girls' and 'Good Vibrations.'

Love was inducted by 'Full House' actor John Stamos, who has been an honorary Beach Boy playing drums and guitar with the band for 40 years.
Celebrating Love's role in creating 'the sound of a generation' in the '60s, Stamos saluted him as 'a composer whose melodies shaped millions of dreams, including all of us in this room.'
'The man we're honoring tonight didn't just write songs. He painted a Technicolor tableau of the American dream, surfboards, radios, convertibles, speeches, babes, heartbreaks and harmonies,' he continued. 'He made the whole world want to be us, sun-kissed, carefree, full of promise and optimism. His lyrics were cinematic, set to the soundtracks of fellow Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, Brian Wilson.'

After accepting his honor 'with a full heart of gratitude, love and peace,' Love was joined by Stamos for a performance that included the Beach Boys hits 'California Girls,' 'I Get Around,' 'Kokomo' and 'Good Vibrations.'
It was Stamos, 61, who told Love that the long-troubled Wilson had died while they were traveling together to New York for the induction ceremony.
'I was with Mike, I got off the plane, and I got the text,' he exclusively told The Post on the red carpet. 'I was like, I said, 'Mike, your cousin passed away,' and his face went blank.'

'And we sat in the car for two and a half hours or so … he didn't say one word,' he continued. 'And I didn't ask him anything, ask him how he was feeling. I knew how he was feeling.'
Joining Love in the Songwriters Hall of Fame class of 2025 were funk legend George Clinton, who was inducted by Living Colour; Doobie Brothers Michael McDonald, Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons, saluted by Garth Brooks; R&B hitmaker Rodney Jerkins (Beyoncé, Whitney Houston), enshrined by Teddy Riley; country chart-topper Ashley Corley, initiated by Dan + Shay; and British tunesmith Tony Macaulay, feted by Debbie Gibson.
Meanwhile, 'Wicked' composer Stephen Schwartz received the Johnny Mercer Award, while 'That's So True' singer Gracie Abrams received the Hal David Starlight Award for young songwriters.

Dennis Quaid says marriage with 39-years-younger wife is ‘closest relationship' he's ever had
Dennis Quaid is happiest when he's with his wife, Laura Savoie. The 71-year-old actor shared what he loves most about his 32-year-old spouse during an interview Monday with Fox News Digital. 'My life is paradise,' he said. 'Every day is paradise with her. It really is.' 'It's the closest relationship I've ever had with anybody,' the Far from Heaven star added. 'What can I tell you? I don't know why God had waited so long to bring her, for her to come along, but [I'm] really glad he brought her into my life, or I walked into hers.' Quaid acknowledged that even though his wife is 39 years his junior, he doesn't really pay attention to the age gap. 'I haven't spoken out about the age difference of my wife. Other people have. But…I really don't think about it," he confessed. "She's got so much going on that, you know, I just don't notice it. She's just, she's the light of my life." 'I wasn't looking for it,' Quaid added. 'And she came along, and it's God put us together.' Quad shared similar sentiments about the age gap in the past. 'There's 30-something years between us, and we just don't even notice it,' he said during an appearance on the Today show in 2020. 'I've never related to someone in my life better than we do.' He continued: 'We have such a great relationship and you know, love finds a way, wherever it is. You never know when love is coming, who it's gonna be, and you have no control over it. We just couldn't be happier.' Quaid and Savoie tied the knot in a secret ceremony in June 2020 after a year of dating. The couple was initially meant to get married in a lavish Hawaiian wedding, but due to Covid-19 restrictions at the time, they chose to elope in California. Speaking to People after the wedding, The Parent Trap star revealed that the ceremony took place on a beach in Santa Barbara with just their pastor as a witness. 'It was beautiful,' Quaid said. 'Just looking into her eyes, she was the most stunning bride.' Savoie is Quaid's fourth wife. The Substance star was previously married to P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983 and Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001. Ryan and Quaid welcomed their only child, Jack, together in 1992. From 2004 to 2018, Quaid was married to Kimberly Buffington, and they now share 17-year-old twins, Thomas and Zoe. Last month, the actor gave an update about Zoe, who was working as a camp counselor in Texas during the devastating flash floods. He told Fox News Digital at the time that Zoe's camp is many miles north of Kerrville, Texas, which was hit by the catastrophic overflooding of the Guadalupe River. 'The Hill County of Texas is a magical place, especially for children going to camp there,' the Texas native said. 'It's a cherished memory you carry with you all your life. My daughter was actually a few miles away from [Camp] Mystic, further north. Thankfully, their camp was OK.' Solve the daily Crossword

Kim Cattrall/Instagram Cattrall hinted about the end after taking to her Instagram shortly after the spinoff's showrunner, Michael Patrick King, and the franchise's star, Sarah Jessica Parker, made the announcement. Advertisement Posting clear waters with a gorgeous sunset, Cattrall made her first post since the 'And Just Like That' news broke. 'It's the end of a very long week ❤️💋,' the actress wrote. Although she did not join her original co-stars Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) for the reboot following an alleged feud with Parker, Cattrall did make a brief solo appearance at the end of Season 2. Her absence was felt by fans everywhere and was a huge miss for the series. Advertisement 12 Kim Cattrall during Paris Fashion Week on March 5, 2025, in Paris, France. 'I created a fantastic character that I loved, and I put a lot of love in it,' she told the outlet in June. 'And if I'm remembered only for that, then that's really OK.' As for Cattrall's former co-stars, they each took to social media following the news that 'And Just Like That' would not be returning after Season 3. 12 Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis in the movie 'Sex and the City 2' (2010). ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection 'Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. 'I will miss working with these people everyday SO incredibly much but know we will always be a part of each other's lives.' The spinoff's showrunner, meanwhile, insisted that the show wasn't canceled. 'While I was writing the last episode of 'And Just Like That…' season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop.' But canceled or not, the reboot's ratings had been steadily dropping from season to season. Advertisement Plus, some critics claimed that the show had become 'insufferably woke' – particularly with Miranda's non-binary love interest, Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez). 'Che seems like they are a manifestation of… an irritating Twitter account come to life,' one viewer told The Post after the first season aired. 12 Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall during the beginning of 'Sex and the City.' Comedian Bobby Lee, who played the role of Jackie Nee in the first two seasons, also claimed last month that the spinoff suffered from 'woke elements.' 'Some of the woke elements of the show, they got rid of, and I think I was a part of that,' he said. However, insiders speculated that the series was most likely cut because it was simply becoming too expensive.

Chiefs' Chris Jones expresses marriage desire after messy split from longtime girlfriend
Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones may have gotten a bit too real at training camp this week. The Chiefs' social media team continued the tradition of asking players a question as they walked through the grounds at training camp. On Wednesday, the question was: "What's one thing on your bucket list you haven't completed yet?" Chiefs defensive lineman George Karlaftis expressed an interest in going to Japan, cornerback Jacobe Covington wanted to go skydiving, and linebacker Brandon George added that he wanted to go to Brazil. But when Jones appeared, he poured his heart out a little bit. "I just wanna be married, I just wanna be loved," he said. The New York Post noted that Jones' remarks came after his ex-girlfriend Sheawna Weathersby accused him of cheating. The two apparently split some time between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025. "I'm choosing to focus on the positive as I close this chapter on a 9-year relationship. Ultimately Chris' infidelity with the woman he's recently been pictured with led to my decision to end our relationship months ago," she wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories in March, according to the New York Post. "This is especially troubling given her history of harassment, stalking and disrespect towards me, including constantly calling and messaging me and my close friends from text free apps and fake Instagram pages. This behavior has forced me to change my number and has forced Chris to ask her multiple times to please leave me alone and respect our coparenting dynamic." Jones acknowledged in January that he was single, but he has not addressed the cheating allegations. The two share two children together. Jones, a three-time Super Bowl champion and six-time Pro Bowler, is entering his 10th season with the Chiefs. He had five sacks in 15 games last season.
