Loose Women presenter Denise Welch is looking forward to watching her son Matty Healy headline at Glastonbury and gave a sneak peek at her luxury accommodation
Denise Welch is every bit the proud mother as she awaits son Matty Healy's Glastonbury headline. Matty and The 1975 are set to headline the Pyramid Stage from 10.15pm tonight and have 'pulled out all the stops' to ensure it is one to remember.
And now his Loose Women presenter mum Denise has revealed her accommodation in the build-up to the honour. Taking to her Instagram Stories on Friday, she admitted she "can't quite believe it" as she shared a clip of Matty performing. Alongside a number of party emojis, she labelled the day: "Glastonbury Day."
Denise, who shares Matty with ex-husband Tim Healy, then joked Matty's stepdad - Denise's current partner Lincoln Townley - was "preparing". She had earlier admitted she's not a fan of festivals - and had ruled out camping. She instead opted for a more comfortable nights rest off site.
As she showed off their secluded setting in the fields, filled with sunshine and shrubbery, Denise then panned onto her man in a hot tub.
Lincoln was then seen donning a wicker cowboy hat as he hanged his feet over the sides of the jacuzzi, which was bubbling away. He told her he was "loving Glastonbury" as he relaxed before she showed herself smiling as she waited her son's big night.
Following their preparation, Denise then headed to the festival and loved showing off the flags in her honour. While some simply shared her name, others had a huge image of her face as they were waved up high.
And she shared a sweet snap of "Glasto chicks" as she re-shared Zoe Ball's upload. The radio host admitted she had been sobbing while watching Lewis Capaldi's surprise set before bumping into Denise.
Denise previously admitted she was "stressing out" ahead of her son's appearance. "I've not really been a festival bunny - I don't really do festivals,' confessed Denise, 67, in a chat with The Mirror.
"The only one I've been to is Coachella. It was all VIP and very lovely. Hot, sunny and gorgeous and I thought 'Oh, this is okay'. And no one stays there, everyone goes home at the end of the night. I am stressed about Glastonbury.'
And she admitted she won't be seeing out the full weekend's entertainment. 'I am not going to stay for the whole three days,' she added. 'I would rather be able to dip in and out. I might dip back in for the Sunday night to see Rod.'
Her Friday night fun comes as BRIT award-winning The 1975 - made up of Matty, Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel - step out onto the iconic Pyramid Stage. Denise admitted Matty, 36, gets his musical talent from dad Tim, 73, who appeared in ITV 's Benidorm.

That must have been a bitter (jagged little) pill for her to swallow. For those not waking up in a sweltering tent, regretting their life choices for not packing Factor 50, there's some even cooler entertainment to be had this weekend - in the delightful air con surroundings of your local cinema. For, one of the BEST films of the past 30 years is back on the big screen this weekend. And clue - it's NOT Jurassic World: Rebirth. What is it? Well, duh, it's the one teen movie so truly close to perfect it should be, like, taught in schools, obviously. More on that below..... but first let's take two minutes to appreciate some of the quirky, ironic and often whimsical moments of the past showbiz week..... Talk about bang for your buck. As the country is famously dry, they spent most of their time partying in their private mega-villa, often finishing at 4am. 'It was an absolute riot from start to finish,' one source was quoted as telling reporters this week. Fortunately it didn't turn into a literal one. For there was one bar serving booze in the apartment block next door – but it only served MEN. So I wonder what would've happened if Mel 'Girl Power' B had popped in by accident? I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that the old emphasis on etiquette, decorum, dress code and a stiff upper lip is becoming more relaxed. The gloves came off with Megxit, after all. However, the royals foray into Instagram quippery did make me wonder: What if social media had been around for some of the infamous Royal moments of the past? How would Edward VIII have announced his abdication on X? An 'I'm out' meme from Dragons' Den, perhaps? Alongside the hashtags: #TheGreatResignation, #YouDoYou?Would Henry VIII be for ever trawling the 'gram looking for a new wifey, sliding into the DMs of every 1500s' hottie flashing a bit of ankle? You can picture his opening gambit: 'S'up? Ur (Fire Emoji). Wannabe my (Crown Emoji)? Send nudes. #NoFilter, #Nohorsefaces #NoPsychos (Aubergine Emoji)' Or maybe Spain would try to scare us with a photo of their giant 1588 Armada, captioned: 'Off to Blighty! #ladsontour #VacayVibes'. Only for Elizabeth I to pop up in the comments with a cluster of emojis: Yawn Face, Eye Roll and every passive aggressive's favourite: Painting Nails – the universal symbol for 'Me? Bothered? As If!'? Excitement over the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez has been swamping showbizland this week. The Amazon founder has been having a three-day Venice extravaganza, with everything a showbiz wedding needs: A $20million budget, Elton John as the wedding band, a whole raft of Kardashians and a (possibly) newly-single Orlando Bloom. But it can't be all fun and games being a guest. Because there's that age-old quandary: what do you get for the man who has everything? (Quite literally, for sale at After all, he has come a long way since he was working in a tiny office in Seattle. Back when he married his first wife in 1993, he was probably grateful for the usual toaster and microwave essentials. This week, there was a further blow for Lorraine and Loose Women. It was revealed cost-cutting bosses were preparing to bid goodbye to their plush studios at west London's iconic Television Centre - and potentially move them to a smaller site in the basement of an old London club. Glastonbury 2025 Saturday live: The fun continues!
Shake off your hangover and get out of your sweaty tent because it's day two of Glastonbury 2025. That's right, if yesterday was the starter, then today is the main course with some of the most iconic acts in music set to prove why Glasto is the world's greatest music festival. Today's all-star lineup includes Neil Young And The Chrome Hearts on the Pyramid Stage, you've got the Scissor Sisters on Woodsies, and (my personal fave) Doechii on West Holts, among many more. This afternoon, we'll finally learn who the mysterious secret act 'Patchwork' is as well – after Lewis Capaldi's emotional performance last night, the favourite is now Chappel Roan, but there's speculation mounting (in the Metro office at least) that it may be Robbie Williams. Robbie Williams addresses Glastonbury rumours - as excitement builds for 'secret' sets
Pulp tried to quash the rumours, Robbie Williams was happy to fuel them - sharing a picture of a blue plaque in his name apparently slapped over a famous Glastonbury sign, before seemingly backtracking. "30 years later..." he captioned his first social media post early on Friday morning - a reference to his headline-grabbing attendance in 1995. This was the year Williams was famously pictured partying with Oasis 's Liam and Noel Gallagher, shunning the boyband shackles with bleached-blonde hair and a blacked-out tooth. The writing was on the wall, and the announcement of his departure from Take That came just a few weeks later. At Glastonbury this year, is the writing quite literally on the wall for a comeback? Well, maybe not. A few hours after his post, Williams shared another, less cryptic message to say he would not be performing, along with his list of recommended acts to go and see - The 1975, Busta Rhymes, Charli XCX, Self Esteem and Reverend And The Makers, if you're interested. Is he bluffing? Double-bluffing? Who knows, but along with celeb spotting and mud, if there's one topic of conversation that makes headlines when it comes to Glastonbury, it's speculation about secret artists. Williams has got everybody talking. Even before his posts, the Let Me Entertain You singer was among the artists rumoured to be performing secret sets this year, along with Pulp and Haim. Lewis Capaldi and Lorde too, with both "TBA" acts turning out to huge crowds on Friday. In recent years, these surprise sets have turned into some of the event's most memorable moments - think Foo Fighters as "The ChurnUps" in 2023, Pulp's comeback in 2011, and Lady Gaga treating fans to a small performance in one of the festival's after hours areas, Shangri-La, in 2009. Franz Ferdinand, famous for hits including Take Me Out and Do You Want To in the mid-2000s, were the first to do it back in 2008. This was actually due to Pete Doherty's band Babyshambles pulling out last-minute, but the approach to announcing the switch was, at the time, a novel one. While officially, the act was "TBA", frontman Alex Kapranos wasn't great at keeping the secret, worried people might not turn up. He and bandmates handed out fliers, and word spread. "We played on the Park Stage and we thought, 'nobody's going to know we're playing'," Kapranos told Sky News ahead of a return performance on Friday. "It actually ended up being one of the most amazing gigs we've ever played, people were so up for it and going crazy. "We weren't keeping it secret. We were walking about like, 'we're playing later on, check it out'. We're a band from Glasgow called Franz Ferdinand." These now not-so-secret performances have become bigger and bigger as each festival rolls around, with leaks making headlines in the run-up to the event. Providing handy tips and hints - and often eventually confirmation, just in time for fans to be in position - is the Secret Glasto team. They have no official ties to Glastonbury, but over the years have become a reliable source of information. The account's founder, who now works in a team of six, spoke to us on site - incognito, of course. "We've got our own sources and we can start checking things because we've now had enough years that we can check in with several people," he said. "And they trust us because we are quite sensible with when we time announcements, which I think is the key thing." Sometimes acts themselves will confirm, they said. Their success rate for predictions is "in the low 90%" - but dragged down mainly by inexperience in their first year, which was 2014. Capaldi's comeback yesterday, two years after struggling on stage at Glastonbury in 2023, was a special moment. "It was really, really heartwarming to see him get back up," Secret Glasto said. "There was such goodwill in the crowd and it was just magical. It's just what secret sets should be about." On Saturday evening, a non-existent act called Patchwork have a pretty important billing just before Raye and then headliner Neil Young on the Pyramid Stage. Pulp keyboard player Candida Doyle dampened rumours by reportedly saying in an interview earlier this month Glastonbury "weren't interested" in booking the band. But is this true? "It happens a few times," Secret Glasto said, of artists maybe telling little white lies to keep the secret for as long as possible. "They've got to keep the suspense somehow... "Sources that we got for Pulp were really, really strong. It's just so exciting for us, for the whole team. This is the most exciting secret set that Glastonbury's ever done." It's a fine balance - not spoiling the surprise but giving fans enough time to get where they want to be. When a festival is this big - home to around 200,000 people over the weekend - at a lot of stages, fans need to be in place early. "The point is to always make sure people can get to the set if they wanted to." But if a huge artist is going to surprise fans on a very small stage, sometimes they have to keep schtum for safety concerns over huge crowds. "Sometimes we're like, we can't print this." So, will Williams be playing? The rumour is that he could be joining his mate Rod Stewart, who is performing on the Pyramid Stage in the "legends" slot on Sunday. "Robbie Williams entered this area without accreditation, authorisation, or alignment with prevailing taste," according to the blue plaque in his social media tease, of his attendance in 1995. "His presence was uninvited, unofficial and ultimately inevitable." In his candid documentary series, and biopic Better Man, both released last year, Williams has been open about his struggles with fame and imposter syndrome, and how as an artist known for pop he craved respect from those seen as more credible at a time when indie music reigned. Officially this year, there is no Robbie Williams on the line-up. Unofficially, who knows? But 30 years since his partying with the Gallaghers, pop music is embraced - and there would be a lot of love for the star if he did make an appearance now.
