Weatherford Awarded Managed Pressure Drilling Contract for Woodside Energy's Trion Deepwater Development
The multi-year contract includes MPD services for an initial 8 wells with the potential to expand to 24 wells. The award reinforces Weatherford's market leadership in high-performance MPD and expands its presence in Mexico's offshore energy sector.
As part of the project, Weatherford will deploy its Victus™ intelligent MPD system, a solution designed to enhance drilling safety, efficiency, and performance. Built on decades of global MPD experience, Victus™ features algorithm-driven pressure control, real-time downhole data for automated responses, and the industry's first field-proven deepwater riser system for floating rigs. The system delivers safer, faster, and more consistent drilling while providing performance across multiple phases of the well.

About the Trion Project
The Trion project is located in deepwater (~2,500 meters) of the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 180 kilometers east of the coast of Tamaulipas and 30 kilometers south of the US-Mexico maritime border. Trion is a joint venture between Woodside Petróleo Operaciones de México, S. de R.L. de C.V. (operator, 60%) and Petróleos Mexicanos-PEMEX (40%).

CNN data guru Harry Enten has dubbed President Trump the 'most influential president this century' while rattling off the major transformations he has ushered in on tariffs, immigration and other issues. Enten argued that the president 'has been tremendously influential to a historic degree' just over half a year into his second term. 'Love it, like it, lump it — Trump's remaking the United States of America,' Enten said as he began a weekend segment on the cable news network. 'I can't think of a more influential president during this century.' Trump Turns His Back on Venezuela
President Trump made his latest tax increases permanent on Friday with the announcement of tariff hikes on imports from countries that didn't negotiate a deal with the administration since April 2—aka Liberation Day. Mexico got a 90-day reprieve from a new 'reciprocal tariff' schedule while negotiations continue. But American importers of noncompliant U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement exports already pay a 25% tariff, up from less than 3% before Mr. Trump's return. And final-assembled USMCA-compliant autos pay an effective 15% rate, up from zero.
