Balamory favourite Miss Hoolie confirms she'll return for show's reboot
The 53-year-old actor played the kooky nursery teacher on the children's show, set in Tobermory, Scotland, for its duration from 2002 to 2005.
It was announced in September last year that Balamory will be returning to TV screens in 2026, 15 years after the series originally drew to a close.
Nimmo casually broke the news that she would appear on the show's return. Asked by a fan online if she'd be in the reboot, she replied: 'Yup.'
In a previous interview with the Daily Record, Nimmo said the Balamory reboot was 'the craziest and best news ever,' adding the news of the forthcoming series return was 'bigger than the Oasis reunion'.
The BBC has commissioned two new series of the show, with some of the original characters expected to return for the revamp.
The two new series will consist of 10 episodes each, and further information and cast details will be announced in due course.
Andrew Agnew, who played PC Plum on the programme, told BBC Radio Scotland's Lunchtime Live this month that he would be eager to appear.
'If they ask me to go back then I'll absolutely be there with bells on, I'm sure,' he said.
'But at the moment we're all just getting excited at the fact that it's happening. I don't think it would be the same if we weren't involved in it.'
In 2022, Nimmo and Juliet Cadzow, who played Edie McCredie, spoke about their hopes for a reunion.
'It's weird when you think about it, because different bands get back together, and I was saying the other day, we were kind of like a band, our gang could get back together,' Nimmo told BBC Radio WM.
The pair described their experience filming Balamory as 'such a lovely time for us all'.
Cadzow, who is yet to be confirmed for the reboot, said: 'It was very magical and I was so proud to have been a part of something so special.'

Rugby stars Kenny Logan and Rob Wainwright and other sporting legends have paid tribute to the late Doddie Weir in a video released on what would have been his 55th birthday. The video has been created to honour the memory of Weir, and the legacy of the foundation he set up to find effective treatments for motor neurone disease (MND) after he was diagnosed with it in 2016. Weir founded the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation in 2017, and died in November 2022 aged 52. Those in the video include Olympic swimming medallist Duncan Scott, Olympic curling medallist Eve Muirhead, broadcaster and ex-footballer Ally McCoist, former England rugby player Mike Tindall and British and Irish Lions fly-half Fin Smith. Supporters from across the UK will wear Doddie tartan to work on Friday July 4, as part of a tradition marking what would have been the former rugby player's birthday. Kenny Logan, who played alongside Doddie as part of the 1999 Five Nations-winning Scotland side, said: 'Doddie was a leader in life, and he remains a leader in death. 'His memory inspires thousands of people, both inside and outside of the MND community, to take action and help bring an end to this devastating disease. 'We all know Doddie should still be here with us. He brought light and laughter into every room, even in the darkest days. It's up to all of us to dig deep, keep fundraising and finish what he started. 'We do it because we miss him. We do it because we love him. And we do it because nobody else should have to go through what he and his family did.' The My Name'5 Doddie Foundation has now committed almost £20 million to targeted research projects and launched a Catalysing A Cure strategy to speed up the search for effective treatments. Earlier this year it pledged £4 million to the MND Discovery Network, a new UK-wide initiative connecting leading scientists to accelerate progress. The film also features Jennie Starkey, who is living with MND and is part of the Foundation's Discovery Network board. The video comes after the end of the Doddie's Lions Challenge, in which a team led by Logan and including Ally McCoist, Gabby Logan, and Doddie's widow Kathy, cycled 555 miles around the island of Ireland in five days to deliver the match ball for the British and Irish Lions vs Argentina fixture in Dublin. ‘Star Wars' actor Kenneth Colley dies at 87
Kenneth Colley, a British actor known for playing Admiral Piett in the original 'Star Wars' trilogy, has died at age 87. Colley died at his home in England on Monday, according to a statement shared by his agent, Julian Owens. Before his death, Colley been admitted to a hospital for an arm injury he suffered in a fall, but he quickly contracted COVID-19 that eventually developed into pneumonia. Throughout his 64-year career, Colley worked continuously in film, television and on the stage, playing a wide variety of characters from Jesus in 'Monty Python's Life of Brian' to the Duke of Vienna in Shakespeare's 'Measure for Measure' for the BBC. In 'The Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi' he played Admiral Piett, an imperial officer in command of Darth Vader's flagship Executor. He reprised the role in 2012's animated 'Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out.' His role in the popular franchise earned him a legion of sci-fi fans across generations. Colley also appeared in films such as Clint Eastwood's 'Firefox' and British TV shows like 'Coronation Street,' 'EastEnders' and 'Return to Treasure Island.' More recently, he appeared in two episodes of 'Peaky Blinders.' Owens remembered Colley as always remaining humble despite being one of the 'finest character actors with a career spanning 60 years.' 'Ken loved attending conventions and meeting the fans,' Owens said. 'He traveled all over the world yet could never quite grasp why everyone wanted his autograph.' Colley was proceeded in death by his wife, Mary, to whom he'd been married for more than 60 years.

James Gunn Says Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman Will Unite in the DCU… Just Not Yet — GeekTyrant
DC Studios co-head James Gunn is planting the seeds for a future where Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman once again share the screen, but fans hoping for that moment right away might want to pump the brakes. While walking the red carpet at the London premiere of Superman , Gunn was asked if we'll see DC's iconic Trinity together in his rebooted universe. His answer? 'Of course, yeah! But, not in the next movie.' Yes, the holy trinity of superheroes is coming, just don't expect them to crash through the same wall until later down the road. Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot prevoiusly stood side by side in Batman v Superman and Justice League . But Gunn's DCU is going to do a bit more world-building than Zack Snyder did before he brings these characters together. Gunn is currently developing a separate Batman reboot with The Brave and the Bold , directed by It 's Andy Muschietti, and a new Wonder Woman film is also in the works. No casting announcements yet for Bruce or Diana, but the foundation is clearly being laid. The Trinity is coming… Gunn's just making sure the timing is right.
