RM350,000 RTP grant to repair surau, hall in Kpg Lereng Bukit

MIRI (May 2): Repair works will soon be carried out at the surau and multipurpose hall of Kampung Lereng Bukit with a Rural Transformation Project (RTP) grant totalling RM350,000 allocated by Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting.
Ting, who was accompanied by Penghulu Samad Alip and Kampung Lereng Bukit village chief Aminudin Morshidi, and representatives from the District Office and Public Works Department (JKR) visited the two sites today.
According to Ting, RM200,000 will be allocated for repairs to the multipurpose hall, while RM150,000 will go towards upgrading the surau.
'All matters and repair details have been communicated. We will also access the necessary works on site,' he said.
During the site visit, Ting noted that the hall had a leaking roof and damaged fencing.
Ting, who is also the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts, said the allocation was approved under the RTP fund.
'We want the project to be implemented as soon as possible. Discussions will also be held with community leaders and residents here,' he added.
He confirmed that the JKR has been appointed as the implementing agency for the projects.
In addition, Ting disclosed that an RTP allocation of RM200,000 has also been approved for SK Luak Miri.

He added that some of the internet disruptions were due to thefts of wiring components at transmission towers and called on the community to help safeguard these facilities. 300 Asnaf In Beserah Receive Food Aid Worth RM60,000
KUANTAN, June 29 (Bernama) -- A total of 300 asnaf (eligible zakat recipients) in Beserah received food baskets worth RM60,000 in conjunction with the Indera Mahkota Al-Falah MADANI Carnival 2025 today. S'wak deaf community group gets RM10,000 grant to support sign language campaign

KUCHING (June 29): The Sarawak Deaf Community Service Association (SDCSA) has received an allocation of RM10,000 from Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, channelled via his Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant. The fund is intended to support the association's community-based initiatives, particularly in the teaching and promotion of sign language. 'What the association does is crucial in empowering the deaf and hard-of-hearing community across Sarawak,' said Kota Sentosa service centre in a statement yesterday, issued in connection with the presentation of the cheque for the MRP fund to the association, which was represented by its president Albert Wong. In his remarks, Yap expressed his support and appreciation for the association's noble mission and reiterated his commitment to backing inclusive and people-centred initiatives.
