EastEnders' Lacey Turner dropped major clue that she was set to quit BBC soap days ago as fans are left devastated
The Sun revealed yesterday that Lacey, who plays Stacey Slater, will be off screens later this year to focus on life and opportunities outside of Walford, but bosses promise that there is lots of drama to come for her character beforehand.

The star, who first joined the soap 21 years ago, has with hubby Matt Kay, a five-year-old daughter named Dusty Violet, a three-year-old son named Trilby Fox, and a baby daughter named Gipsy Olive, who was born in January, this year.
Speaking to The Sun last week, Lacey said she was becoming more "brave" and "bold" when it comes to her career and other projects.
Speaking about her future on the soap, Lacey hinted at her exit saying: "I think as any working person, you weigh up your options and I do what is best for us really.
"That may change as they change, as they grow. If something doesn't work, then you change it.
"I personally do my best and we do our best and that works.
"I really love my job, I will always do.
"As you get older you get a bit braver and a bit bolder and I'm at an age now where I will do what is right for us."
The mum-of-three also admitted that she currently has her hands full with her two eldest and her newborn.
She said "I love my job and I wouldn't work if I didn't, it works for us.

"I'm still a mum even when I'm at work, parenting it doesn't ever end, even when they're at school, you're thinking what they're going to have for dinner, what they've got to do when they get in, it's constant, it doesn't stop being a parent."
It was revealed that Lacey will be leaving the soap but bosses are already planning for her comeback.
Lacey told the Sun: 'It's time for myself and Stacey to take a rest and who knows what Stacey will get up to in her time away? Knowing Stacey, it will never be boring."
A soap insider said: "Lacey made the decision last year to take some time out from the show, she's had a busy year both on and off screen, so it feels a good time to give Stacey a rest.
"Lacey loves EastEnders, and it's no secret how much EastEnders love Lacey, so it's not a question of if she will be back, but when.'
An EastEnders spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that Lacey will be off-screen later this year, but there is plenty of more drama to come beforehand and we will look forward to planning Stacey's return when Lacey decides the time is right.'
Just weeks after giving birth, she returned from maternity leave to play her part in Martin Fowler's exit scenes in the show's live episode.
And Lacey's character Stacey left fans in tears as she said an emotional goodbye to Martin in February.
In heartbreaking scenes he proposed and planned the next 40 years of their lives before the paramedics told Stacey that he would likely not survive his injuries.
Stacey couldn't bring herself to tell Martin what was happening, but he realised and then tragically died in her arms.
Lacey has become a household name thanks to her long career on Albert Square playing the role of Stacey Slater.

Actress Ruth Jones to guest present The Archers Podcast
The Welsh actress will be joined by Archers cast members Charlotte Martin (Susan Carter) and Wilf Scolding (Chris Carter), along with Sarah McDonald Hughes, the writer of this week's episodes. The podcast will be available exclusively on BBC Sounds from 7.15pm on Friday. Jones, who co-wrote and co-starred in Gavin & Stacey, described herself as a 'massive Archers addict'. In the podcast she delves into the Carter family's complex history, including Chris's turbulent relationship with Alice and a powerful archive flashback to his birth in 1988, when he was born with a unilateral cleft lip and rejected by his mother. Jones also picks her two favourite scenes of the week, reveals her favourite quirky Archers character traits, and poses some burning questions about unresolved storylines in the fictional village of Ambridge. Jones said: 'I've been an avid fan of The Archers since the early 90s. 'Despite being an actress and writer myself, the thought of actually being in The Archers, or writing it, absolutely terrifies me because in my mind Ambridge really exists.' The Archers Podcast is released weekly every Friday, immediately after The Archers is broadcast on BBC Radio 4. It is usually presented by Emma Freud, who is on holiday this week. Why the Oasis reunion tour is 'catastrophic' for Edinburgh Fringe performers
For years now, many performers at Edinburgh Fringe have spoken about their struggles to afford the sky-high prices for their accommodation each August. This year, with Oasis's reunion tour coming to the city for three nights, the cost of securing a room for a month at the biggest arts festival in the world is even higher. Comedian Marc Borrows says "the 'Oasis effect' on the Fringe economy has been catastrophic". Rather fittingly, his stand-up show this year is called The Britpop Hour. "It's an idea I'd had in my back pocket for a while," he explains. "Then the band reformed and when I saw they were playing Edinburgh I thought 'yeah, this is the year to do this!'" While he's thrilled that the Gallagher brothers are coming to town, it means many performers are taking a financial hit. "I'll give you an example, I tried to get the same flat that I've had the last two years at the Fringe, a student flat, nothing fancy, and it costs an extra thousand pounds this year." Because of the increased demand for beds, newcomer Amy Albright will be sleeping in her red Volkswagen for her two-week stint at the Fringe. "Costs are even more expensive," she says. "It's just not an option for me, so instead I'm living in my car." With blackout blinds and a portable coffee maker, she says it's actually not as bad as some might think. "I park just outside of town in a really nice safe area, I use a gym for showers ... this saves me so much money ... I wouldn't be able to afford to perform at the Fringe otherwise." Holly Spillar's show Tall Child explores her relationship with class. She was fortunate enough to be one of 180 recipients of a £2,500 bursary from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society. It is the third year the Keep it Fringe fund has been run, backed this year by a £1m injection of government money. As Holly explains: "I live month to month on a minimum wage job ... and it costs me about five grand to do the fringe." Alongside the grant, she's also had to take out a loan, which she says will take her two years to pay back. "It's a very precarious situation you put yourself in just to be in the room," she adds. Chloe Petts - now an established name on the comedy circuit - says the problem needs to be recognised for being less about Oasis and more about a problem that's been brewing for years. "Accommodation is just totally out of control," she says. "If this leads us to further conversations about that, then fantastic but ... it has to be a conversation about how it's totally unaffordable for the average person to come to the Fringe, and I think that's stopping a lot of people coming up who deserve to be here." Scottish comedian Susan McCabe, a lifelong Oasis fan, reckons there's no point getting too worked up, especially given the siblings fractious relationship. "We are here every year and they may not even be here for those three gigs ... they might have fallen out by then!" She adds: "It is what it is, at the end of the day ... they were the greatest rock and roll band of the 1990s, just let them be."
