Michigan Fans Question EA Sports College Football 26 Over Bryce Underwood's Ranking Among Freshmen
There's a lot of excitement surrounding the Michigan Wolverines and true freshman Bryce Underwood, who On3, 247Sports and ESPN rank as a five-star recruit and No. 1 player in the nation as part of the 2025 recruiting class.

Even before playing at the collegiate level, Underwood earned some exciting honors, including being the only incoming freshman to feature on the Deluxe Cover edition of EA Sports College Football 26.
On Thursday, the standard edition of the game became available to users, meaning that Michigan fans can now go in and officially take over their team to compete for national championships with their freshman phenom.
However, on Thursday, On3's Pete Nakos put together a list showcasing the top-50 freshmen in the game, sorted by overall ratings, with Underwood earning an 81, tying him for the sixth-highest.

The list quickly caught the attention of many Michigan fans, who questioned on social media why Underwood didn't earn a better overall.
"Makes no sense why Underwood wouldn't be the highest freshman," said one fan.
"How do they even come up with the stats to produce overalls for freshmen? No hate just a question, how is DK a 84 but Bryce is a 81?" Said another.
"How is the consensus #1 recruit who is also a QB not the highest rated freshman? Not only that but tied for 6th lol," a fan said.
A fan said, "Funny how the #1 recruit is not the highest rated but ok…"
"Why is the number 1 recruit not the number 1 freshman?" A fan questioned.

"So the #1 ranked player in high school on all ranking sites isn't #1 in the game even though none of them have played an official college game yet," said another.

Underwood has the chance to quickly prove these ratings wrong as he fights to be the starter for Michigan's Week 1 game against the New Mexico Lobos on Aug. 30. The Lobos are favored in that game by 34.5 points, per ESPN BET.

Rafael Nadal Sends Clear Five-Word Message to Iga Swiatek After Wimbledon
Rafael Nadal Sends Clear Five-Word Message to Iga Swiatek After Wimbledon originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Iga Swiatek finally got her hands on the Wimbledon trophy, delivering one of the most dominant finals in Grand Slam history. On Saturday, she needed just 57 minutes to defeat Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in the women's singles final at Centre Court. The win marked Swiatek's first Wimbledon title and her sixth Grand Slam overall. It was also the first time in the Open Era that any player, man or woman, failed to win a single game in a Wimbledon final. Advertisement Soon after the historic win, tennis legend Rafael Nadal shared a short but meaningful message to Swiatek on X (formerly Twitter): 'Congratulations @iga_swiatek! Amazing tournament! 🌱💪🏼' The five-word message 'Amazing tournament' included was simple and respectful. Iga Swiatek (POL) stands on the South West Hall balcony holding the Venus Rosewater Dish after winning The Wimbledon 2025. Swiatek wasted no time in setting the tone. She broke Anisimova in the very first game and never looked back. The first set was done in just 25 minutes, with Swiatek hitting only two unforced errors compared to Anisimova's 14. The second set followed a similar script, with Swiatek again racing to a 5-0 lead before closing it out to complete the double bagel. Advertisement For Amanda Anisimova, it was her maiden Grand Slam final. The 23-year-old had stunned World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the semis but couldn't bring the same energy against Swiatek. Still, her run to the final will lift her into the top 10 for the first time in her career. Swiatek's win at Wimbledon now completes her major collection on all three surfaces clay, hard, and grass. It also came as her first Grand Slam title since her French Open victory in 2024. Saturday wasn't just another win, it was a record-breaking statement, applauded by legends like Nadal himself. Carlos Alcaraz's Gesture to Jannik Sinner Before Wimbledon Final Is Turning Heads originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will face each other in a few hours at the Wimbledon men's singles final this Sunday on Centre Court, marking the second straight Grand Slam final clash between the rivals. Advertisement Defending champion Alcaraz advanced to his third consecutive Wimbledon final by defeating Taylor Fritz 6‑4, 5‑7, 6‑3, 7‑6(6) in a four‑set semifinal, extending his grass‑court win streak to 24 matches. Meanwhile, World No. 1 Sinner booked his place in his first Wimbledon final with a commanding 6‑3, 6‑3, 6‑4 victory over Novak Djokovic, ending the Serbian legend's sixth-straight finals appearances in Men's Singles at SW19. Their paths have already intertwined this season. Alcaraz saved three championship points to deny Sinner in a five‑set marathon to win Roland Garros in June. Off the court, the pair's mutual respect is on full display. A video circulating on social media captures the two shaking hands and sharing light‑hearted banter a day before facing each other in the final, underscoring a friendship that exists alongside fierce competition. "Friend off the court, rival on the court. 🥹" Another posted. "No shenanigans. Only talent and respect. Great role models for tennis! ❤️❤️" One expressed. "I think Carlos likes Jannik more than Jannik likes Carlos." One fan speculated. "This is nice. But I can't help but think I'd much prefer it if they despised the life out of each other. It's the same with the footy. I hate it when players are all mates and that after the full-time whistle, regardless of the result. Sorry, not sorry." A fan said, echoing multiple others. Trevor Lawrence Issues Warning Regarding Travis Hunter
Trevor Lawrence Issues Warning Regarding Travis Hunter originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Jacksonville Jaguars, a franchise haunted by decades of near-misses and Super Bowl droughts, sent seismic shockwaves through the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, making a blockbuster trade to land the most electrifying prospect in college football: Colorado's two-way superstar, Travis Hunter! Advertisement In a stunning move that highlighted their desperate hunger for success, the Jaguars orchestrated a deal with the Cleveland Browns, trading up to secure the No. 2 overall pick and selecting the highly sought-after wide receiver and cornerback. This was a massive investment, signaling a new era of aggressive decision-making for a team that has never reached the Super Bowl in its nearly 30-year history. The pressure on Hunter will be immense. Jacksonville fans are starving for a winner, and a "major wave of hope" is now riding on the shoulders of the Heisman-winning dual-threat phenom. However, former Clemson and current Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who knows a thing or two about navigating sky-high expectations as a former No. 1 overall pick, has issued a dose of reality while simultaneously showering Hunter with praise. "Travis has been great. Just his work ethic, how he's come in. He has been one of the hardest-working guys we have," Lawrence told Jamal St. Cyr of News4JAX. But the veteran QB also offered a crucial warning about the unprecedented challenge ahead. "I think it is the commitment to learning the playbook and trying to learn the two systems. It's a lot on a rookie. It's challenging to learn everything and he's done a nice job and we still have work to do and we're gonna get a lot done in training camp and get us ready to play come September." Hunter's ability to seamlessly transition his two-way dominance from college to the NFL will be one of the most compelling storylines of the 2025 season. The pros are a different beast, and playing both offense and defense at the highest level comes with monumental physical and mental demands. Despite the inherent pressure, Hunter has already garnered strong support from various players on the Jaguars' roster, eager to see how his "alien-level athlete" traits translate.
