District Collector Orders Foolproof Arrangements for NEET UG 2025 Examination
A district-level coordination committee meeting regarding the NEET UG 2025 examination was held on Tuesday at the IDOC Conference Hall. Addressing the meeting, the Collector emphasized that the exam, scheduled to be held on May 4 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, must be conducted in a seamless manner ensuring that students face no inconvenience.
Recalling the allegations raised during last year's examination, the Collector stressed the need for strict measures this year to avoid any shortcomings. He informed that the exam will be conducted at three government institutions in the district: the Government Boys High School, Government Girls High School, and the Government Junior College.
A total of 1,029 candidates are expected to appear for the exam. Students will be allowed entry into the exam centers between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Biometric verification of candidates will be conducted at the centers. He instructed that students must bring their admit cards along with a valid photo ID, and strictly warned against bringing electronic devices, mobile phones, wallets, or gold jewelry into the examination centers.
The Collector further instructed that control rooms and CCTV cameras be set up at the centers, along with adequate security arrangements. He directed police officials to ensure safe transport of question papers from banks to exam centers and safe dispatch of answer sheet bundles to post offices after the exam.
Additionally, first-aid centers should be set up at the examination centers with ORS packets and essential medicines readily available. He also emphasized the importance of uninterrupted power supply, instructing the electricity department to make the necessary arrangements in advance. The Municipal Commissioner was advised to ensure availability of clean drinking water, functional toilets, and proper sanitation at all exam centers.

Highlighting the significance of the NEET exam, the Collector said that it is not only a state-level but a nationwide examination, and even a minor mistake at a single center could affect students across the country. He urged all officials to work in coordination to ensure the successful and error-free conduct of the examination.
Key officials present at the meeting included SP Srinivasa Rao, DSP Mogalaya, DEO Abdul Ghani, Chief Superintendent Devender Reddy, Electricity Department EE Ramesh Babu, Municipal Commissioner Dasharath, school principals, bank officers, and other departmental officials.

Strict Vigil Ordered on Welfare Hostels and Gurukuls: Jogulamba Gadwal Collector Warns Against Negligence
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has issued firm directives to officials, emphasizing that there is no room for negligence when it comes to the welfare of students in Gurukul schools and welfare hostels. The Collector made it clear that incidents like the one at the Jyotiba Phule BC Boys Gurukula School in Undavalli must never be repeated. On Friday, a review meeting was held at the IDOC meeting hall to assess the management of residential schools and hostels. The session was jointly conducted with District Superintendent of Police (SP) Srinivas Rao. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector noted that the state government has placed special focus on the education sector. He warned that strict action would be taken against any kind of negligence in the operation of schools and hostels. Referring to a recent incident, he reminded that the deputy warden and supervisor were suspended and memos were issued to other negligent officials. He directed mandal-level officials to work in coordination to safeguard student welfare. Special officers have been appointed at the district level to monitor all mandals. These officers are to visit schools at least twice a month to review conditions related to education, safety, drinking water, toilets, and other basic facilities. Tehsildars and MPDOs were instructed to regularly inspect hostels within their jurisdiction and immediately address any deficiencies. Daily nutritious meals must be provided as per the prescribed menu, and the food should be inspected daily by the school's food committee. Records of meal quality must be maintained with signatures from at least two students. Any deviation from the menu or substandard food will lead to strict action against the responsible staff. The Collector further emphasized that drinking water, toilets, sanitation, staff rooms, and kitchen facilities must be thoroughly reviewed during school inspections. He warned that any spoiled or pest-infested rice must be replaced immediately. Officials were advised to promptly report any problems in hostels to the tehsildar, MPDO, and police. The tehsildar, being the magistrate at the mandal level, must respond immediately. In case of serious issues, officials were directed to bring the matter directly to the Collector's attention. Unauthorized entry into school and hostel premises is strictly prohibited, especially in girls' hostels, where surveillance must be strengthened. District SP Srinivas Rao stated that the police department remains available at all times to respond to any incident. He urged officials to act responsibly, pointing out that due to administrative negligence and outsider interference, students have previously been forced to protest. He reiterated that strict regulations must be enforced to prevent unauthorized individuals—especially in girls' hostels—from entering premises. Outsiders must not be allowed access to educational institutions. Anyone violating student rights will face legal action. The SP also warned that action would be taken against individuals found engaging in inappropriate activities such as consuming alcohol within school premises at night. He encouraged close cooperation between mandal-level administrative officials and the police department to maintain order. The meeting was attended by Additional Collectors Lakshmi Narayana and Narsinga Rao, Special Deputy Collector Srinivasa Rao, RDO Alivelu, all Mandal Tehsildars, MPDOs, Special Officers, Education Department officials, principals of Kasturba Gandhi Girls' Schools, and other senior authorities.

UP Police: UPPRPB Launches OTR System Ahead Of Recruitment Drive For 28,000 Posts
UP Police has launched a One-Time Registration system from July 31, 2025, to simplify the application process for over 28,000 Constable and SI vacancies. UP Police Recruitment 2025: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has introduced a major change in its recruitment process by implementing the One-Time Registration (OTR) system starting July 31, 2025. This move will streamline the application process for various upcoming police recruitments, including a massive drive to fill over 28,000 vacancies for Constable and Sub-Inspector (SI) posts. The OTR system, similar to those used by the UP Public Service Commission (UPPSC) and Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), allows candidates to register just once using a valid email ID and mobile number. This unique registration will be required for all future applications. Once registered, candidates can use the same details for multiple exams, eliminating the need to re-enter basic information repeatedly. Applicants can complete their OTR using Aadhaar, driving licence, PAN card, or passport. The board aims to make the process transparent, simple, and accessible to all. BAMS admissions' row: HC gives Hoshiarpur varsity 5 weeks to complete probe
The Punjab and Haryana high court has directed Guru Ravi Das Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur, to complete within five weeks an inquiry into allegations that 15 students of Shiv Shakti Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Moga, secured admissions to the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course on the basis of 'wrong information'. (Getty Images/iStockphoto/ Representational image) The order was passed by the bench of chief justice Sheel Nagu and justice Sanjiv Berry, while disposing of the students' petition, who had challenged varsity show-cause notice as to why their admissions should not be cancelled. The court also ordered that results of the examination in which some petitioner students were allowed to appear by the high court in June would not be declared and the same would remain subject to the outcome of the inquiry. The court was hearing a petition from the 15 odd students admitted in 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic sessions. The allegations are that during the admission process, the petitioners' NEET ranking details were 'incorrectly furnished and deliberately suppressed,' giving an impression that they had qualified the national entrance test. During the hearing it had come to the fore that admission forms of the petitioner students were filled by agents, Tarsem Kumar and Raj Kumar, who entered incorrect information by mentioning such rankings of these students in NEET examination which gave an impression that they had passed NEET examination. As per the varsity, a complaint came from one Rajbir Singh, a Patiala resident, of alleged irregularities following which the university ordered an internal probe. The inquiry has been entrusted to justice (retd) Rajiv Narain Raina of the Punjab and Haryana high court, which is underway, the court was told by the varsity. In view of the varsity submissions, the court has disposed of the plea directing that inquiry be completed within five weeks and requested the inquiry officer to conclude the same within a given period.
