Panthers WR Jimmy Horn Jr. talks about reuniting with Browns QB Shedeur Sanders next week
The hype train of Carolina Panthers rookie wideout Jimmy Horn Jr. made a new stop tonight. In a change of scenery from their previous eight training camp sessions, the Panthers set up shop at Bank of America Stadium for this summer's Fan Fest on Friday. One of the stars from the outing was Horn, who has been turning heads with his speed and explosiveness since the spring. After practice, head coach Dave Canales was asked what stands out most about the electric sixth-round pick. "I think it's the energy he plays with," Canales told reporters. "He doesn't quit on routes, he continues. After the normal part of the protection you can count on, he continues to find space and play fast. It's a credit to his fitness, but it's also a credit to just the energy he puts out there." Horn put out more than just energy on the evening. He scored twice, both on passes from backup quarterback Andy Dalton, and even made a touchdown-saving tackle on a fake punt attempt. He'd take the lectern as well, and was asked if he's noticed the hype around him. "Yeah, I seen it," Horn replied. "But I try not to, like, feed into it. I appreciate all the hype and stuff, but I feel still like I haven't did anything yet. So I just wanna go out there and continue to prove myself every day and become a consistent player." The Panthers may get their best look yet on Horn next Friday, when they host the Cleveland Browns for their first preseason contest. That matchup will also feature 2025 fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders, who was Horn's quarterback at the University of Colorado. "It's gonna be exciting to see him again," Horn said of Sanders. "Can't wait to see how he doin' out there, like, see him in person and stuff. It's gonna be good to see him again. I talk to him here and there, but it's just gonna be good to see him again and reunite with him." The two Buffaloes, who connected for seven touchdowns between 2023 and 2024, will also get a chance to see each other before kickoff—as the Panthers and Browns are set to lock up for a joint practice in the week leading up to the game. Fantasy football owners should take new look at Mark Andrews following teammate's injury
In the second of a six-part fantasy draft preview series, Fantasy Insanity tackles tight ends. Next week: quarterbacks. Went to a seafood restaurant not too long ago. The sea bass sounded good, so I ordered it. Sorry, the server said, but they were all out of sea bass for the night, I would have to pick something else. I ended up with crab legs. And these weren't Chinese buffet crab legs. These were meaty, juicy, sweet, easily-to-crack shells. Everything you aim to get when you order crab legs. 3 Mark Andrews reacts during the second half of the Ravens' blowout win over the Browns on Jan. 4, 2025. AP And really, how can you go wrong with meaty crab legs. They have a history of satisfaction. These were the Mark Andrews of crab legs.

Browns CB Martin Emerson Jr. suffers achilles injury in training camp
The Cleveland Browns have suffered a significant blow to their defense, potentially losing starting cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. for the season. The former third round pick and standout over the first two seasons of his career suffered an achilles injury in Tuesday's practice and had to be carted off the practice field. It was described as a non-contact injury as the Browns were not in pads for Tuesday's practice. Without speculating too much until results come in from testing, but these are rarely easy injuries to bounce back from quickly. Emerson is coming off a down 2024 season, looking for a bounce-back year in the Cleveland secondary. To make matters worse, Emerson is in a contract year too, looking to earn his worth with the Browns long-term. Now he will have to enter free agency on the heels of a likely significant injury. The Browns will now likely have to ask Greg Newsome II, who plays outside cornerback on base downs before kicking inside to the slot in nickel looks, to play outside full-time. Newsome II is also in a contract year with the Browns and has the opportunity to return to the type of player we saw from him early in his career. And if he does, he will be in line for a good payday. This means Cameron Mitchell or 2024 seventh round pick Myles Harden will be allowed to slide into the nickel cornerback position this season. The Browns also signed former Miami Dolphins' nickel Nik Needham this offseason, and he'll likely get looks inside as well throughout training camp. Regardless, this is a huge loss for the Browns if Emerson is sidelined for the entirety of the 2025 season.
