The popular gastropub and bar, located in the heart of the city, was co-owned by Jennie and her partner Chris Farr.
It was also held in incredibly high regard, ranking within the top five restaurants in Manchester on Tripadvisor just before its closure.
Sadly, the restaurant's loyal fans, who have been piling in since 2012, have now been left heartbroken by its sudden shutting.
Jennie and Chris' post read: "It's with a heavy heart that we've had to close the doors to Annies this week.
"We want to thank the amazing people, staff and customers who've been part of our Annies journey.
"Our whole team will miss all of our wonderful customers, who we have come to call friends."
The star also thanked loyal patrons for their support over the past 13 years, sending them their "love and thanks".
Annies served a range of dishes to satisfy pallets across Manchester, including steaks, burgers, pies, salads, and fish.
A traditional hotpot featuring lamb and crispy potatoes also featured on the extensive menu.
Not only had Annies found itself high on Tripadvisor's Manchester recommendations but it was also named among "the best of the best" in the country in September.
Beloved steakhouse chain to shut ALL its restaurants after collapsing into administration with no explanation
When the review site unveiled its Traveller's Choice Awards Best of the Best Restaurants - which recognised diners' favourite spots for 2024, Annie's was named in the top ten.
It had also previously been named winner of the People's Choice award for best tea room at the Manchester Tourism Awards for its range of afternoon teas.
Neither Jennie nor Chris have confirmed the reason behind the restaurant's closure, but fans have been quick to share their love for the famed restaurant.
One heartbroken diner wrote: "This is very sad news.
"One our favourite places we've been too when us girls meet up - we've had afternoon tea, Sunday lunch, theatre and breakfast.
"You fit in nicely what ever time of our occasion."
Italian restaurant chain closes ALL of its sites immediately after facing 'many challenges'
AN Italian restaurant chain has closed down all of its sites after nearly six years on the high street.
Officina 00 was a popular pasta joint with three locations across Covent Garden, Fitzrovia and Old Street.
It charged around £15 for posh pasta dishes such as curly pappardelle and killer bucatini.
Owner Elia Sebregondi took to Instagram last week to share news that the business was no more.
He said: "It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that Officina 00 restaurants have now permanently closed.
"I have done everything in my power to overcome the many challenges faced in the last few months, but despite all efforts I have been forced to close down."
The news left diners heartbroken with many describing it as a "big loss".
Another upset local said: "I can't believe this. I was just speaking to someone about how great your pasta was earlier this week."
A third said: "This is devastating news. We loved visiting your restaurants."
And a fourth person said: "The best pasta in London.. how sad for all."
Another wished Jennie and Chris well in their next endeavours, adding they were "absolutely gutted" by the news of the closure.
They wrote: "It was the only place I felt comfortable in.
"The food was delicious, the decor amazing, and the whole place just had a wonderful feeling about it.
"I will miss Annie's terribly. It was also such a little busy place."
This comes just days after a beloved pan-Asian restaurant chain - known for its trendy dining and cocktails - announced it would be closing all of its locations.
PEACH, a restaurant group based in East Hertfordshire, confirmed the immediate closure of both its sites after five years of serving customers.
Founders Dan Knowles and Leigh Keates launched the business in 2020, with branches in Bishop's Stortford and Hertford.
The pair gave no reason for the closure but said in a statement: "With great sadness, we want to let you know that both restaurants have now closed.
"This was not an easy decision and certainly not one we took lightly.
"We are incredibly grateful for the support, kindness and loyalty you've shown us over the years - it has meant everything."

BBC Strictly star says series 'helped me become me' after split from music icon

More info Former Strictly Come Dancing star Jo Wood has admitted that the show gave her a 'confidence boost' following her split from Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. The star, 70, appeared on Thursday's (July 3) episode of Loose Women alongside panellists Christine Lampard, Sunetra Sarker, Kelly Brook and Gloria Hunniford as she promoted her new novel, The Resurrection of Flo. Just minutes into the chat, Gloria pointed out: 'When you read through it there are great similarities some may say between your own life because it's about a woman who has been married for 30 years, which you were to Ronnie.' She then asked: 'How difficult was it for you to re-invent yourself after your long marriage?' Jo admitted: 'Well It didn't take too long fortunately because I was offered Strictly Come Dancing and I think for me it was a wonderful confidence boost. (Image: ITV) 'I had been a wife and mother for all those years and I suddenly was dancing with Brendon Cole and it really helped me become me again so it didn't take too long." She continued: 'The book is about finding yourself and I think so many women go through a break up or lose their husband. "I bumped into a friend of mine and whilst I was thinking about what a great story, she said that she split up with her husband and she said to me 'my life is over Jo isn't it?' I said 'no it's not'. 'Just because you're in your 50s it doesn't mean that your life is over you can still get back out there and I hope she has. I sort of thought about all those things when I was writing it and there are things in there that I think are important to do when you become single.' (Image: ITV) The star admitted: 'Forgiveness, that is very important I think. Forgive yourself and the one that ran off and I think that is very important. "It's a very tough thing to do but if you mean it, it sets you free because by not forgiving you are tied to that person but by forgiving you let it go.' Christine asked: 'How did you do it? Was it family and friends who helped you with that or was it something you tackled by yourself?' Jo revealed: 'I was fortunate enough to have my family of course around me.' The former model married guitarist Ronnie, 76, in 1985 and the pair went on to have two children together Leah, 45, and Tyrone, 40. Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX

ITV announces three major shows set to return after daytime TV shake-up

After the broadcaster's announcement that they are slashing Lorraine and Loose Women, ITV bosses have revealed three shows that will not suffer from upcoming budget cuts ITV has announced the return of three of its flagship game shows, which is welcome news for viewers who are set to be impacted by upcoming changes to the channel's daytime schedule. It has been confirmed that new episodes of The Chase, Tipping Point and Deal or No Deal will be filmed later this year, which means the shows have secured a broadcasting slot in 2026. The announcement comes as ITV has been going through a major overhaul of their daytime line-up. ‌ Both Loose Women and Lorraine are going to face cuts as part of new cost-saving measures. From 2026, Lorraine Kelly's morning programme will be shortened to a 30-minute slot, airing from 9.30am to 10am instead of its current hour-long format. ‌ It will also only be broadcast for 30 weeks out of the year, meaning the stand-in hosts who currently replace Lorraine when she is on holiday will be out of a job. Loose Women is also facing significant changes, and will soon only be airing "on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year" according to ITV bosses. The programme will scrap its live studio audience and is expected to reduce its line-up of panellists as part of the shake-up. While those cuts have sparked concern among viewers, ITV's quiz and gameshow output has been handed a significant boost. New episodes of The Chase, the channel's top-rated quiz show, will be filmed over four months later this year. Production company Potato are currently recruiting crew to work on the show between September and December. Meanwhile, Tipping Point fans can breathe a sigh of relief after speculation that the show might be axed. No new episodes were recorded last year, which left fans concerned about the future of the series. ‌ However, ITV bosses have clarified that filming was only paused because there was a backlog of unaired episodes that needed to be broadcast. New episodes are set to be filmed this year, with Ben Shephard returning to the studio for the first time in almost two years. Stephen Mulhern is also preparing to step back into the studio for Deal or No Deal. A new full-length series is due to be filmed this autumn for broadcast in 2026. However, viewers won't have to wait until that comes out to watch a new instalment of the game show, as there is an already completed series ready to air later this year. ‌ Lorraine Kelly recently professed her love for working in telly, telling fans in the wake of cuts being made to her talk show that she is "not done yet". On Tom Kerridge's Proper Tasty podcast, she shared: "I've been around for so long. I've been doing telly for over 40 years. It's mad isn't it? It's absolutely crazy. I started in breakfast telly in 1984, and I'm still getting away with it. Extraordinarily. "40 years in TV last year was incredible. I got a BAFTA. 'Here's a BAFTA for being alive.' I thought, 'Hang on a minute, I'm not done yet.' "I think now I can be a lot cheekier. Because I've always been a bit naughty. Not so much in the morning, but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that. You can be unleashed. And I quite like that. You do have to have a self-edit button, and I'm finding mine is not operating as much as it should." ITV has been contacted for comment.
