While he didn't stay for filming, he did manage to have a memorable night with the film's star, Demi MooreSam Rockwell was nearly in the 1997 action film G.I. Jane — and while he didn't stay for filming, he did manage to have a memorable night with the film's star, Demi Moore.
In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Rockwell, 56, said part of his reasoning for leaving the film was the brutal training required.
"Well, I realized that when you play a Navy SEAL in BUD/S training, you have to be in the water a lot. So I probably should have read the script more thoroughly," he said. "I was in the water a little more than I wanted to be, and I was really, really skinny at the time, and I didn't have a lot of body fat on me, and I was getting early hyperthermia."
Rockwell added: "I did the boot camp, and then I split."
But despite the fact that he left before filming began, he did get to meet the film's star, Moore.
"Demi Moore had just done Striptease, the movie," he said. "And she got a strip joint, and she got all these strippers and the Navy SEALs and the actors, and got us drunk on tequila — and the strippers and Demi Moore shaved our heads and we got drunk with Navy SEALs and got lap dances."

Moore starred as Lt. Jordan McNeil in the 1997 film, famously shaving her head before filming began.
Rockwell, meanwhile, recently appeared on season 3 of The White Lotus as an old friend of Walton Goggins' mysterious, eccentric character Rick.
His longtime partner Leslie Bibb — who starred in the show — has said he "got cast at the last minute" for the role, which included a very memorable monologue.
"I read all eight [episodes] and I remember when I got to this monologue and this scene and I remember thinking, 'I've never seen anything like this on television,' and I felt like it's what Mike [White] was really trying to talk about with this show ... He comes in and he's like, 'Here's my truth' and he's unapologetic," Bibb said in a March appearance on CBS Mornings.

New Reports On Justin And Hailey Bieber's Relationship

Justin and Hailey Bieber are reportedly having the best weekend after the release of his seventh studio album. On July 11, Justin released a surprise album, Swag, featuring guests like Gunna, Sexyy Red, Lil B, Cash Cobain, and more. Dijon and Eddie Benjamin were also featured on the album and worked alongside Justin on the production. It's been more than four years since his sixth album, Justice, and the EP Freedom, and it was well worth the wait because Swag is an album reportedly made on his terms. It's an experimental blend of pop and R&B that's personal, raw, and dare I say — swaggie. According to a source obtained by People, the 31-year-old Grammy winner and his wife, the founder of Rhode, are in celebration mode in honor of the album's creation — a project that rose from the ashes of a tumultuous last few months of rumors and speculation. "Hailey was by Justin's side for the whole creation of the album," the source told the publication. "Everyone knows Justin as a star and a performer. They now get to know the artist that Hailey has known all these years." Justin apparently had a new creative process where he got to "run his own show" by selecting his producers and musicians, and only used "stripped-down" live vocals. "Hailey supported Justin to follow his artistic instincts," the source adds. "She helped him to trust himself and do what Justin knew he wanted to do as an artist." People reported that the source felt like Justin could create the album he wanted after significantly changing his career, regaining control of his creative direction, and parting with his former manager, Scooter Braun. On July 12, Rolling Stone reported that Justin had no regrets parting ways with his former manager. Justin and Scooter had worked together for over 15 years before ending their business relationship in 2023. "Breaking away from Scooter Braun and his team has been something that Justin has wanted for so long, and now that he's fully free, he could finally share this album with his fans and with the world," a source told the publication. "Having full creative freedom, sadly, is something new for him as an artist," the source continued. "Not having to stress about creating the perfect single, or perfect album, allowed for him to create the best body of music he's ever made." While Justin's busy celebrating his release alongside Hailey and their son Jack Blues, Scooter supported Swag in a post on his Instagram Stories. "Been having a beautiful start to the weekend and been getting a lot of texts about how I feel about Justin's new album," Scooter wrote. "So I will just leave this here.. This is without a doubt, the most authentically Justin Bieber album to date. It's beautiful, raw, and truly him. And that matters." Scooter continued, "I've had the privilege of witnessing his growth for almost two decades. Along every journey, there comes a time when an artist fully steps into their own — and that's what he's done here. He's poured his soul into this project, and you can feel it in every single run.""The way he chose to release it is just as intentional as the music itself — and I'm happy to see him do it this way. I have played no roll in this one, but as someone who's always believed in him, I'm incredibly proud and impressed and genuinely enjoying the music," he said. On July 10, another source told People that Swag was supposed to be a "darker, more vulnerable and less polished" album compared to his previous work. But, dark and vulnerable doesn't mean it's "depressing." I've already listened to the album five times with no skips. Justin took back control of his narrative from all the gossip, speculation, haters, and being constantly stalked by paparazzi. Congratulations, Justin! The album is 🔥. We reached out to Justin and Hailey's team for further comment, and we'll let you know if we hear back.

Johnny Gaudreau's sister reveals ‘anxiety' over getting married 11 months after brothers were killed on eve of wedding

Katie Gaudreau, the sister of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, married Devin Joyce on Friday, 11 months after their wedding was originally canceled following the death of her two brothers, who were struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver while biking the night before the ceremony. In an interview with People, Katie Gaudreau opened up about the 'anxiety' she dealt with while planning the wedding, changing the venue from its original location because 'two essential pieces of our day' — the Gaudreau brothers were going to be Joyce's groomsmen — wouldn't be there and settling on a place that'd allow people to stay overnight. 'I wanted a space where we could all be together the night before — somewhere we could sleep over, wake up together, and just be, without having to leave or be separated,' Gaudreau told the outlet. 'I was having a lot of anxiety about everyone leaving the venue after the reception and something happening, so I wanted a space where we would all be together.' 5 Katie Gaudreau (c.) with brothers Johnny (r.) and Matthew (l.) at Matthew's wedding. Since then, tributes have poured in from around the hockey community, such as with the NHL honoring Johnny Gaudreau during the Stadium Series game — hosted by Columbus — last season and Team USA giving him a locker in the team's dressing room during the 4 Nations Face-Off. And Katie Gaudreau wed her childhood sweetheart Friday with a 200-person ceremony at St. Mary's Church in Gloucester City, N.J., followed by the reception at The Bellevue Hotel. 5 L-R Devin Joyce, Johnny Gaudreau, wife Meredith Gaudreau, and Katie Gaudreau. 'Back then, we were preparing with so much love and excitement. I remember the way John and Matty lit up — how genuinely happy they were to celebrate Devin and me. Their joy was radiant, effortless and contagious.' Gaudreau told the outlet that her brothers were honored in small ways throughout the ceremony, including with her father Guy Gaudreau and Joyce donning custom suits with pictures of the brothers lining the inside. Her bouquet also featured 21 standard roses and 13 spray rose blooms in a nod to the numbers that Matthew and Johnny wore, respectively, while playing hockey. 'Their love didn't leave,' she said, acknowledging that she felt and honored 'both the sorrow of their absence and the beauty of their presence' at her wedding.

Evan Rachel Wood says she's being recast for 'Practical Magic 2'

"Practical Magic" stars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are ready to cast another spell on audiences with a highly anticipated sequel. But one name from the original movie says she wasn't invited back. Evan Rachel Wood, who played Kylie, the daughter of Sally Owens in the 1998 film, revealed in a since-expired Instagram Stories statement that her character is being recast for the upcoming film, even though she wanted to come back. USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Wood and Warner Bros. Pictures for comment. "I was not asked to come back and be in the #PracticalMagic sequel," Wood told her followers, according to People and The Hollywood Reporter. "I offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line. I was told they are recasting." The "Westworld" actress, 37, added, "I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters." A sequel to "Practical Magic" was officially confirmed in June 2024, and production on the film is now underway. Bullock, 60, and Kidman, 58, who played sisters Sally Owens and Gillian Owens in the original movie, are both returning. Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing will also reprise their roles of Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny, respectively. Susanne Bier ("Bird Box") is directing a script by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett. "Practical Magic" was one of the first movies that Wood appeared in as a child actor, and she has previously expressed interest in reprising her role. It is not immediately clear who will play Wood's character in "Practical Magic 2." New cast members for the sequel include Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod. The movie, which Bullock and Kidman are also producing, is set for release on Sept. 18, 2026.
