Emphasising the importance of local job opportunities, Gandhi added that the Congress and the INDIA alliance were focused on finding solutions rather than making empty promises.
"The youth of Bihar are hardworking, capable, and talented--they only need local and respectable employment. Now, the beginning of change has arrived. Congress and the INDIA alliance are not just bringing promises, but solutions. Our focus is clear--rights to skills, employment for every youth, stopping migration, keeping every family together," he said.

The Youth Congress also posted on X, saying that the turnout at the employment fair reflected the seriousness of the state's unemployment crisis. "After Jaipur and Delhi, this was another effort of ours so that qualified youths could get job opportunities through the employment fair," it said.
Meanwhile,
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar
recently announced several measures to address public welfare and job creation. On Friday, Kumar said that electricity would be provided free of charge across Bihar. He also mentioned that the government had approved Rs 50,000 crore for 430 new schemes to benefit the people.
"During the previous government's tenure, there was no electricity. There was electricity for only eight hours, even in Patna. We managed all of it. Consumers used to pay a significant amount of money for their electricity bills. We have decided that electricity will be provided for free. We will hold a cabinet meeting and will decide on the same today itself," Kumar said, while addressing a gathering in Motihari in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He further promised, "We have already given 10 lakh government jobs to youth and are working to provide more. In the coming five years, we will decide on providing jobs to one crore youth."
Kumar also announced that the state government would increase the pension amount for differently abled persons, senior citizens, and widows to Rs 1,100 per month.

A major scam has been unearthed in Maharashtra's education sector. Officials allegedly created fake teacher identities on the Shalarth portal. This was done to embezzle public funds. The scam, which involves both Mumbai and Nagpur zones, could be worth Rs 2,000 to 3,000 crore, according to government estimates. Some arrests have already been made and the state government has announced a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter, a TOI report stated.A Shalarth ID is a unique identity issued to government and aided school teachers and staff in Maharashtra. It is required to access salary, benefits, and employment deputy director of education Ram Pawar said, "Once there is a vacancy and the school has selected the candidate, the school issues an appointment order. The candidate then takes this appointment order to the deputy director of education of that zone, who approves it and provides the candidate with a Shalarth ID and password. This ID is used to access salary and benefits, without it, the candidate cannot be paid."The Shalarth portal also stores financial and personnel data for all education employees in the to Pawar, the authority to issue Shalarth IDs rests with the deputy director of education. The scam involved issuing bogus IDs to fictitious individuals. One judge upholds death sentence, other acquits: Split ruling in Jharkhand HC on Maoist ambush that killed 6 cops
Twelve years after a Maoist ambush in Jharkhand's Dumka district killed five policemen, the state High Court has delivered a split ruling. While one judge has upheld the lower court's order of capital punishment, the second one set aside the order and acquitted the two people accused in the case. While delivering the split ruling on July 17, a Division Bench of Justices Rongon Mukhopadhyay and Sanjay Prasad disagreed on whether there was enough evidence to sustain the conviction and the capital punishment that the Dumka sessions court had ordered in 2018. The ruling pertains to a Maoist ambush that killed Pakur SP Amarjit Balihar and five others on July 2, 2013. The SP and his team were on their way back from a meeting when some Maoists ambushed their vehicles and fatally shot them. Apart from the officer, five other policemen – Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Manoj Hembrom, Ashok Kumar Srivastava, Chandan Kumar Thapa, and Santosh Kumar Mandal – were killed. The attack left some others wounded. In 2018, the two accused — Pravir Murmu alias Pravir da and Santan Baskey alias Tala da — were sentenced to death. After hearing their criminal appeal, the Division Bench of the High Court delivered a 197-page judgement on July 17. Setting aside their conviction, Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay said eyewitnesses in the case – the policemen who survived the attack — could not credibly identify the accused. He also noted the lack of direct involvement of, or recovery of incriminating material from, the two convicts. Justice Prasad, however, took a divergent view and held that the eyewitnesses had identified Pravir and Tala in court and that 'the gruesome murder' of an IPS officer and his team 'did not evoke any sympathy'. Affirming the death sentence, Justice Prasad directed the state government to provide a compensation of Rs 2 crore to the family of the SP, and give a job in the rank of the deputy superintendent of police or the deputy collector to one of his children. He also ordered a compensation of Rs 50 lakh and Grade 4 government jobs to the families of the five other policemen. Special Public Prosecutor Vineet Kumar Vashistha said the split verdict means the case will now be referred to the Chief Justice for reassignment. He went on to say that Justice Prasad considered the case to fall under the 'rarest of rare' category. 'The matter will now be placed before the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court, who will reconstitute a bench to rehear the case,' he said.
