Mahomes has already received two NFL MVP awards, three Super Bowl rings and three Super Bowl MVPs. But his impact goes far beyond the football field.
Mahomes started the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation back in 2019, dedicated to "improving the lives of children." One of the foundation's most recent endeavors was hosting its charity event, the Vegas Golf Classic, from May 14 to 16. In 2024, the same event raised $1,077,000.
On Wednesday, Mahomes and the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation announced a new initiative: awarding $150,000 in college scholarships to high school seniors in Kansas City, his hometown of Tyler, Texas and Lubbock, Texas, where he played college football at Texas Tech.
In total, 15 different $10,000 scholarships will be given out to five different athletes from each city.

"🎓The $10,000 scholarship will recognize 5 Class of 2025 students in each region that epitomize academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement."
Mahomes also addressed his new scholarship decision, per KLTV's Kyle Owens.
'Giving back to the communities that have shaped me has always been incredibly important,' Mahomes said. "Through the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, we want to support the next generation of leaders and difference-makers. These scholarships are about lifting students up and showing them that their dreams are within reach.'
This is not the first time 15 and the Mahomies have given out scholarships. Back in 2022, he also "provided a $25,000 grant to the SEAL Legacy Foundation in support of the Honored SEAL Legacy Scholarship Program." The donation went to more than 100 SEALs and their families who are still affected by 9/11.

Eagles' Saquon Barkley Reveals Religious Journey
Eagles' Saquon Barkley Reveals Religious Journey originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Added to his almost supernatural physical talents and the savvy free-agent signing with the Philadelphia Eagles last offseason, Saquon Barkley is crediting another secret weapon for his epic 2024 season: Advertisement Religion. In a new interview with golf social media influencer Grant Horvat, Barkley opened up about his newfound faith and credited it with helping him have one of the best seasons by a running back in NFL history. "I just became a Christian not too long ago," Barkley said. "I don't think it's a coincidence that the best year I had in my career, I found my faith. It gives me some clarity in life." Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards last season and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl in a 40-22 romp over the Kansas City Chiefs in February. How a higher power works remains one of life's great mysteries. But it works for Barkley. Advertisement Barkley's religious journey is not an overnight success. At Super Bowl LIX he talked about diving into the Bible. "I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I know the Bible, like, in and out," Barkley said. "It's something I'm learning, I'm challenging myself to get better at with my family and my friends. I'm just growing, and I think that's the beautiful thing about it, and I think that's what religion and faith is, is having a relationship with God and understanding who Jesus is, and that's what I've been trying to do this year. I'm going to continue to try to get better at it." Last month, the 28-year-old landed on the cover for this year's edition of the uber-popular 'Madden' video game. Barkley was also a featured speaker at 'Life Surge: Champions of Faith,' a religious financial seminar at Philadelphia's 21,000-seat Wells Fargo Center. 'That's (Ronald) Acuna's show,' he said when asked why not. However, he did claim that he's a "lock" when Toronto hosts an All-Star game. Fans made fun of Guerrero on social media after the announcement. Advertisement "Probably because he forgot how to hit home runs," one said. "Yeah bc he only will hit 1," another said. " only hit a couple home runs this year," another said. "Washed so makes sense," another said. "Because he [expletive] [stinks] that's why," another said. The 2023 NL MVP, who went down with an ACL injury last season, will try to become the first-ever Braves player to win the competition.
