Hypocritical Sheriff Caught Speeding In A Lamborghini On Video
Whether you'll admit it or not, everyone's broken the speed limit at least once. Maybe it was an accident. Maybe, like Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno, you just wanted to show off. A few days ago, The Florida Trident posted a video showing Sheriff Marceno hammering the throttle in a black Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, racing a friend in a Corvette.
This footage was taken on South Tamiami Trail in Estero, Florida, by Ken Romano, a jeweler from Bonita Springs and apparently a former friend of Marceno's. The sheriff was behind the wheel of the Huracan, speeding alongside Romano in a Corvette. The video shows both cars doing over 70 mph in a 50 zone, more than enough to get a speeding fine. Romano shouts, 'Yeah, juice that motherf*cker!' and Marceno responds in kind, dropping a gear and letting the naturally aspirated V10 sing. Honestly, who can be blame him.
A sheriff racing down a public road in a Lamborghini might sound like something out of a Fast & Furious sequel, but this story isn't all fun and games. Just last month, Marceno posted on Facebook that he has "zero tolerance for street racing" after his deputies arrested a teenager for doing just that. He emphasized his dislike toward it by saying 'Driving at excessive speeds and putting yourself, your passengers, and others on the road at risk is an incredibly selfish decision. My deputies will continue to patrol the roads of Lee County, ensuring drivers make smart choices or they will face the consequences.' If that sounds hypocritical, it's because it is.
So far, nothing. The Florida Trident reached out to the sheriff's office but got no response. Ken Romano also declined to comment. Look, we get it. Car people like speed. But when the guy who preaches 'zero tolerance' gets caught doing exactly what he condemns, it hits different. Whether Sheriff Marceno faces any consequences remains to be seen. But one thing's clear: the badge doesn't make you untouchable. The law applies to everyone — even those who enforce it.

Inmate's death at Wyandotte County jail under investigation: KBI
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating after an inmate died while in custody at the Wyandotte County Detention Center late Saturday night. According to the KBI, just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday, 50-year-old Charles L. Adair was found unresponsive in his cell by medical staff. After attempting to perform life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead by emergency responders just before 9:20 p.m. Crews investigating late night house fire in Kansas City neighborhood Initial investigations indicate that just before Adair was found, he had received medical care for a pre-existing wound on his leg, the KBI reported. When he was done being treated, however, he reportedly resisted being taken back to his cell. The KBI said Adair began yelling, refusing to listen to commands and physically resisting sheriff's deputies. This resulted in him being handcuffed and returned to his cell, where he was placed on the bottom bunk. However, as deputies attempted to take off Adair's handcuffs, he continued to resist, the KBI reported. Eventually, his handcuffs were removed, and deputies left the cell. But minutes later, when medical staff were asked to evaluate Adair, he was found unresponsive. Local firework stand rocked by 'wild' early morning robbery KBI agents said they did not see any 'obvious signs of physical injury to Adair resulting from the incident.' However, the agency will be conducting an autopsy. Adair was arrested only a day prior, on Friday, July 4, on misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear on multiple traffic violations. Parrish pedestrian, 19, dies after being struck by pickup on U.S. 301
A 19-year-old Parrish man was killed when he was struck by a pickup after he entered the southbound lane of U.S. 301 on foot. The collision happened at 9:38 a.m. Saturday, July 5 south of Prosperity Lakes Boulevard, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. The pickup was traveling south on U.S. 301 and the pedestrian was also in the southbound lane. The front right of the pickup hit the pedestrian, the report said. The driver of the pickup, a 31-year-old Wimauma man, was uninjured. The Parrish man was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation. Pittsburgh police make several arrests after another large crowd forms on South Side
Pittsburgh police were again called to the city's South Side neighborhood during the Fourth of July weekend to disperse a large crowd along the East Carson Street corridor. At approximately 1 a.m. on July 5, officers in the 1400 block of Sarah Street responded to the sound of shots being fired. A man was apprehended on the street, and a firearm was recovered. A second man fled the area on foot. No injuries or property damage were reported, according to a report from Pittsburgh At approximately 2 a.m., officers began to disperse the remaining crowd after multiple warnings. Individuals within the crowd began throwing projectiles and launching lit fireworks at officers and police vehicles. Two officers sustained eye irritation from firework debris, and another was struck by a rock. All three officers declined medical attention. Officers also used pepper spray only after they were targeted by the fireworks, but said gas was never used on the crowd. By approximately 3 a.m., the crowd was fully dispersed. Ronald Pelton, 23, of McKees Rocks, was charged with discharging a firearm, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and possession of a weapon. Delricco White, 20, of Duquesne, was arrested after he was observed throwing fireworks at police. White is charged with aggravated assault, possessing instruments of a crime, recklessly endangering another person, propulsion of missiles, evading arrest on foot and disorderly conduct. Kyliek McCracken, 18, of Ambridge, was also taken into custody after he was observed fleeing with White. He is facing charges of criminal conspiracy, disorderly conduct and evading arrest. Officers made three other arrests and issued seven non-traffic citations. Two additional firearms were also recovered. South Side sees increase in late-night incidents Pittsburgh police have been called to an increasing number of similar incidents on the South Side. East Carson Street filled up with another unruly crowd of 1,500 to 2,000 people in late June, prompting Pittsburgh police to call in assistance from neighboring law enforcement agencies. Following that incident, officers needed to deploy pepper spray to break up a large fight on East Carson Street. In the wake of these incidents, the police union recently said the staffing situation is unprecedented.
