A Viral TikTok Analyzes Royal Family Member Facial Expressions During Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Wedding, and the Reactions Were Shocking
It's safe to say that most of the world was watching when Prince Harry married Meghan Markle at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018. Much attention was paid to the bride and groom, Meghan's stunning Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy wedding dress, and the A-list guests in attendance. One thing the general public should have been watching more closely? The facial expressions of other members of the royal family.
In a viral TikTok video posted on a fan account called houseofwindsorr, a variety of different wedding-day clips were stitched together to reveal how the royal family felt about Harry and Meghan's nuptials. Queen Elizabeth's reactions are most prominently featured, but the clips also showcase Meghan and Harry themselves, Prince Philip, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Zara Tindall, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Princess Beatrice.

Overall, the queen's reactions weren't overwhelmingly positive or negative—she's certainly not smiling, but she's not frowning, either. That being said, it's impossible to tell when these clips were captured. The general sentiment of the video makes it seem like these were Queen Elizabeth's reactions to Meghan and Harry at the altar, but it's quite possible that these snippets were from the beginning or end of the wedding, when the bride and groom weren't even present or seen together.
The rest of the edit is similarly unflattering. In the clip of Prince Philip, he appears to let out a long sigh. King Charles seems almost to shake his head and Queen Camilla's smile falls from her face. Zara Tindall, Harry's cousin, looks blank-faced as she repeatedly blinks, and Prince William and Kate Middleton look to be holding back smiles or laughs. As with Queen Elizabeth's clips, this edit leaves us with more questions than answers—the videos could indicate that members of the royal family were already displeased by the union, or it could just be an unflattering video that was edited to continue the narrative that Harry and Meghan are now outsiders to the House of Windsor.
What's most notable is how the video compares the reactions of Queen Elizabeth at Meghan and Harry's wedding to her facial expression at Will and Kate's nuptials in 2013. At the end of the video, Will and Kate stop before the monarch, and she appears to nod and smile in approval.
So, are these shocking reactions really indicative of how other royal family members felt, or is this just another viral video created with a skewed perspective? Whatever the truth may be, the video has now accumulated over 1.5 million likes, been saved 54,000 times, and received 2,611 comments.

How I Became an Accidental Author of ‘Dark Academia'
When I turned 30, I quit a well-paying job to write novels. Initially, the gamble didn't go well. A couple of early efforts garnered kind remarks from important publishers, but no book deals. I was in the last chance saloon when I began writing 'Black Chalk,' a dark tale based on my time as a student at Oxford in the 1990s. When I finished the novel, it was rejected—this time by the entire U.S. publishing industry. But my agent sent it to a U.K. house, Harvill Secker, who published it in 2013. Two years later a U.S. house, Picador, picked it up. The book is now going into its 19th printing.

‘Daryl Dixon' Lives to Ride Again in Season 3's New Trailer
AMC's The Walking Dead Universe continues to delve into the decayed wasteland of the zombie apocalypse through the eyes of its bike-riding icon in Daryl Dixon. Returning Walking Dead vet Norman Reedus reprises the titular role alongside Melissa McBride as Carol; the fan-favorite duo continues their trek through the European walker landscape. The cast and creative team were on hand at San Diego Comic-Con to preview season 3 of the show. Here's the trailer that convention goers got to witness during the panel, which brings the series on a cross-Europe trip: after heading to France last season, now Daryl and Carol find themselves venturing from England to Spain. Turns out, everywhere they go in the zombie apocalypse, things still suck for humanity wherever they still live, as the duo find plenty to fight against when it comes to the survivors they find there. Cómo se dice 'We are the Walking Dead' en español? As well as introducing Stephen Merchant as 'the last Englishman in England,' who helps Carol and Daryl get to Spain, Daryl Dixon season 3 also stars Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Alexandra Masangkay, Candela Saitta, Hugo Arbués, and more. That wasn't the only news out of the panel, however. It was also confirmed that AMC has renewed the show for a fourth and final season. The season, which will run for eight episodes, is set to enter production in Spain later this month. 'Daryl Dixon has been an incredible journey,' star Norman Reedus said in a statement provided to press. 'I thank each and every fan who has joined us on this ride. It's been a privilege to build this story for these characters, and we have so much gratitude for how it's been embraced. Your love and support have made every moment worth it. This finale isn't just an ending; it's a celebration of what we've all shared together. Keep carrying that love forward—Daryl's journey is far from over.' AMC's Daryl Dixon returns September 7.
