Barbie to be removed from Netflix?
The movie follows Barbie as she enjoys an idyllic existence alongside Ken in Barbieland but as they decide to head out into the real world, they realize the complexities that come with human life. Barbie embarks on a journey of self-discovery in the feminist film which explores themes of female empowerment, gender roles and the patriarchy, while also addressing the complexities and contradictions within feminism itself, reports The Mirror.
Barbie was added to Netflix in December, ahead of the Christmas period, but it is set to leave the streaming platform on July 15. While viewers can still watch it on a range of platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+ and Sky Movies, Netflix subscribers who want to watch it on the platform need to make sure they do so before next Tuesday.
