Kota Kinabalu: The women wing of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) expressed full confidence in the leadership of GRS Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor in addressing any allegations or accusations directed at him. GRS Women Chief Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun emphasised that Datuk Seri Hajiji's open statement, 'I have nothing to hide,' is clear evidence that he is a transparent leader who is not afraid to be investigated. 'We have full confidence in our chairman. He has firmly stated — 'Go ahead and investigate!' If he were guilty or afraid, he would not have dared to say such a thing. Therefore, GRS Women stands firmly behind Datuk Seri Hajiji,' she said. Azizah added that the statement reflects the sincerity and courage of a leader unafraid to face the truth. 'A leader who dares to say 'go ahead and investigate' is one who has nothing to hide. This reflects his confidence in the legal process and transparency in governance,' she added. GRS Women also called on all Sabahans not to be influenced by any attempts to disrupt the State's political stability and to continue showing support for a leadership that has brought significant progress to Sabah. 'We urge everyone to remain calm and place their trust in bold, honest and responsible leadership. Married couple arrested for prostitution and porn distribution in Shah Alam
SHAH ALAM: A married couple was arrested at a hotel here for allegedly operating a prostitution ring and distributing pornographic videos through social media. The Kuala Lumpur police contingent's D7 division apprehended the 34-year-old pair following an investigation into their illicit activities. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa stated that the husband managed the business, creating and selling explicit content featuring his wife and clients. The wife reportedly served as the primary performer in the videos while engaging in prostitution. 'They earned up to RM6,400 a week by selling videos priced between RM50 and RM150. 'Prostitution services were arranged via Telegram, with fees ranging from RM450 to RM800 per session,' Rusdi said. The couple was remanded for three days as authorities investigate violations under Sections 372(1), 372B, and 372A of the Penal Code, along with Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Sabah election: Civil servants must maintain service delivery, says Hajiji
KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has called on civil servants in Sabah to maintain smooth administrative operations and public service delivery during the upcoming state election. He stressed the importance of professionalism, neutrality, and integrity among government personnel. 'The efficiency and transparency of civil servants during this challenging period reflect our commitment to upholding democratic governance and administrative stability,' Hajiji said in a statement following the Post-Cabinet Meeting at Menara Kinabalu. The 16th Sabah state assembly's term will automatically end on Nov 11, leading to the 17th Sabah State Election. Hajiji also directed department heads to ensure efficient operations to prevent delays, wastage, and loss of public trust. 'Civil servants must carry out their responsibilities with integrity, transparency and a strong sense of accountability. 'They must avoid any conflict of interest to ensure the state government's goals and objectives are successfully achieved,' he added. Meanwhile, four bills will be tabled in the upcoming two-day state assembly session starting next Monday. The Chief Minister's Department will introduce the Forest (Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Climate and Carbon Governance Bill 2025, while the Ministry of Finance will present the State Sales Tax (Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Supplementary Supply Bill 2025.

Married couple arrested for prostitution and distribution of pornographic videos
KUALA LUMPUR: A married couple was arrested at a hotel in Shah Alam on Tuesday (July 1) for alleged involvement in prostitution and the distribution of pornographic videos via social media. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the couple, aged 34, was detained at 8pm by a team from the D7 (Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies) division of the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters. Preliminary investigations revealed that the husband acted as the content creator, promoting and selling pornographic videos featuring his wife and their clients, while also managing a prostitution ring to generate income. "His wife acted as the prostitute, playing the lead role in the videos. They earned up to RM6,400 a week," he said. "They targeted clients via the X platform to sell their pornographic videos, while prostitution activities were coordinated through Telegram," he said in a statement on Wednesday (July 2). Rusdi added that their fees ranged from RM450 to RM800 at a four-star hotel, while pornographic videos were priced at RM50 and RM150. "The couple has been remanded for three days until July 4. The case is being investigated under Sections 372(1), 372B and 372A of the Penal Code, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998," he said. - Bernama
