Barcelona have officially announced the reopening date of their iconic home stadium, Nou Camp. After two years of redevelopment, the revamped venue will host its first match on August 10, when the team takes part in the Joan Gamper Trophy, their traditional pre-season fixture. Originally slated to be ready last year, the renovation project faced multiple delays. Although the stadium won't be fully completed by August, it will still welcome fans for the high-profile friendly. In an official statement, the club said: 'Remaining works include the completion of the new third tier, the dual VIP ring, the roof installation, and the final touches to various interior spaces, as well as the urban development of the stadium's surrounding area." The Joan Gamper Trophy serves as a curtain-raiser ahead of the new La Liga season, and this year it marks an emotional return to the club's spiritual home.
