Is Virtua Fighter 5 REVO cross-platform

Digital Trends12-05-2025
In the pantheon of the best fighting games, Virtua Fighter has fallen out of the spotlight in recent years. Thankfully, the upcoming video game Virtua Fighter 6 is poised to bring the series back to its former glory, but before that, we got a new version of the previous latest entry called Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. While it isn't quite a remake, this latest version is the definitive way to play this technical fighter. That said, the audience for this series is still smaller than most, so your ability to get online matches might be a concern. If you're curious whether or not this new version was given cross-platform support to increase the pool of players you can compete against, we'll give you the full breakdown.
Is Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O cross-platform?
The answer to whether or not Virtua Fighter 5 is cross-platform is two-fold. As of the time of this writing, no, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O has no cross-platform functionality, but that is because the game is currently only available on PC. That said, during the Virtua Fighter Spring Direct, we learned that not only is the game finally coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Switch 2, but it will launch with full crossplay support between all platforms. The official statement from Project Producer Seiji Aoiki reads: 'I know we've kept you waiting, our Steam release Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is finally coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2! Since Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.'s launch, we've heard your requests for multiplatform support via the official Virtua Fighter Discord and other channels. We on the development team want to give users on all platforms the opportunity to enjoy Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O., so we are happy to bring you this announcement. Also, in bringing this title to multiple platforms, we're planning to include cross-play support. And to make your cross-play experience even smoother, the rollback functionality used in the Steam version will be supported on all platforms. We're going to include even more content to make this much more than a simple port, which we'll tell you about in future updates.'

The only thing left up in the air is when the game will hit consoles. No release date was given, but as soon as the game does come to these additional platforms, we at least know crossplay will be there.

What Is ‘Umamusume: Pretty Derby'? Viral Horse Girl Gacha, Explained

Umamusume: Pretty Derby Cygames Inc Just a few days after release, Umamusume: Pretty Derby is going viral— inspiring livestreams, memes and TikTok edits—the bizarre anime girl racing game is proving immensely popular online. First released in 2021 as a mobile game for iOS and Android, Umamusume is a racing simulator and a gacha game, featuring anime 'Horse Girls' with horse ears and tails, sprinting around a racing track. Umamusume 's Horse Girls aren't the equine enthusiasts of our world, but animal-human hybrids. Sort of. In the world of Umamusume , Horse Girls are reincarnated racehorses from Earth, birthed in human form, but gifted with superhuman speed and stamina. For whatever reason, all are female—even famous stallions are reborn as cute anime girls. For those interested in delving deeper into the lore, the game also has a multiple-season anime adaptation that, from the clips posted online, actually looks fairly thrilling. One user review on Steam succinctly summarized the strange world of Umamusume , writing: 'The most terrifying thing about the Umamusume universe is that real horses don't actually exist.' After launching on Steam on June 24, Umamusume suddenly exploded in popularity, introducing gamers to the ins and outs of horse racing—cute anime girls, it seems, are the key to success, in any field. At the time of writing, Umamusume: Pretty Derby has more than 5,600 user reviews on Steam, with an 'overwhelmingly positive' score of 95%. Following livestreams on YouTube and Twitch from popular streamers Ludwig and Northernlion, Umamusume shot up to 28,784 players on Steam. Gamers are finding the thrill of racing highly addictive, and are posting memes and adrenaline-infused TikTok edits to convey the emotional highs and lows of watching their favorite Horse Girls sprint to the finish. Notably, the game is a management simulator, and players do not actually control their Horse Girls, only train them. For many players, this makes the game all the more addictive, essentially placing the player on the sidelines, as just another spectator. Many commentators have criticized Umamusume for being another gacha game, adding to the microtransaction-addled landscape of modern gaming. What Is A Gacha Game? Gacha games are free-to-play games that make money through microtransactions, drawing players in with engaging gameplay, but ensuring that most players will eventually want to spend virtual currency to acquire new characters or items. In gacha games, paid items and characters are distributed randomly, like loot boxes, and have been compared to gambling, as the random rewards can fuel addictive behavior and spending. Obviously, horse racing is already known as a gambler's pursuit, but Umamusume's merging of horse racing, gacha gaming, and adorable anime girls seems to have created an addictive supernova. Gamers with poor impulse control might want to skip this one, but fans seem to have happily embraced the bizarre blend. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (TSM) Hits Fresh High: Is There Still Room to Run?

Have you been paying attention to shares of TSMC (TSM)? Shares have been on the move with the stock up 15.4% over the past month. The stock hit a new 52-week high of $233.82 in the previous session. TSMC has gained 18.3% since the start of the year compared to the 7% gain for the Zacks Computer and Technology sector and the 18.3% return for the Zacks Semiconductor - Circuit Foundry industry. The stock has a great record of positive earnings surprises, having beaten the Zacks Consensus Estimate in each of the last four quarters. In its last earnings report on April 17, 2025, TSMC reported EPS of $2.12 versus consensus estimate of $2.03 while it beat the consensus revenue estimate by 0.87%. For the current fiscal year, TSMC is expected to post earnings of $9.28 per share on $116.93 in revenues. This represents a 31.82% change in EPS on a 29.8% change in revenues. For the next fiscal year, the company is expected to earn $10.74 per share on $137.1 in revenues. This represents a year-over-year change of 15.82% and 17.25%, respectively. TSMC may be at a 52-week high right now, but what might the future hold for the stock? A key aspect of this question is taking a look at valuation metrics in order to determine if the company has run ahead of itself. On this front, we can look at the Zacks Style Scores, as they provide investors with an additional way to sort through stocks (beyond looking at the Zacks Rank of a security). The individual style scores for Value, Growth, Momentum and the combined VGM Score run from A through F. The idea behind the style scores is to help investors pick the most appropriate Zacks Rank stocks based on their individual investment style. TSMC has a Value Score of D. The stock's Growth and Momentum Scores are A and C, respectively, giving the company a VGM Score of B. In terms of its value breakdown, the stock currently trades at 25.2X current fiscal year EPS estimates, which is not in-line with the peer industry average of 25.2X. On a trailing cash flow basis, the stock currently trades at 21.4X versus its peer group's average of 21.4X. Additionally, the stock has a PEG ratio of 1.21. This isn't enough to put the company in the top echelon of all stocks we cover from a value perspective. We also need to look at the Zacks Rank for the stock, as this is even more important than the company's VGM Score. Fortunately, TSMC currently has a Zacks Rank of #2 (Buy) thanks to rising earnings estimates. Since we recommend that investors select stocks carrying Zacks Rank of 1 (Strong Buy) or 2 (Buy) and Style Scores of A or B, it looks as if TSMC passes the test. Thus, it seems as though TSMC shares could have potential in the weeks and months to come. Want the latest recommendations from Zacks Investment Research? Huawei's MatePad Pro 12.2 Still Has The Best Keyboard Among All Tablets

Last year I wrote about the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2, which has one of the most ingenious keyboard case designs I've seen for a tablet yet: it has a hidden slot to house the stylus -- a slot that stays out of sight when the tablet is opened, and also locks the stylus securely in place when the keyboard is folded up. Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 keyboard has a slot for the stylus Ben Sin This is such a better design that, say the iPad, which simply asks you to stick the Apple Pencil on top of the stylus. I can't count how many times in the past decade the stylus has accidentally detached from the iPad as I take it in and out of my backpack laptop sleeve. One time it happened while going through a hectic airport security line, leading to a lot of stress as I scrambled to find the missing stylus. The stylus slot is hidden behind the tablet when opened in laptop mode. Ben Sin Well the MatePad Pro 12.2 has gotten a 2025 update, though the changes are minor. It has a new light green paint job and superior 50-megapixel main camera along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide. That's about it as far as changes, but last year's tablets packed some very impressive hardware, so you still get all that here, including a visually stunning 12.2-inch tandem OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. This display is also part of Huawei's "PaperMatte" series, meaning it has anti-glare, texture embedded at a nanotexture level, giving the screen a satisfying anti-reflective look and feel. Yes, the iPad and Samsung's highest-tier phone also offer this type of display, but Huawei did it first back in 2022. The MatePad Pro 12.2 Huawei The screen looks beautiful, with thinner bezels than the iPad, and it gets just as bright at 2,000 nits. Powering the tablet is the Kirin T92A a 7nm, octa-core silicon self-developed by Huawei. The tablet is also extremely thin at 5.5mm thick, but despite the slimness, it houses a 10,100 mAh battery.
