‘Hollywood's new dream duo': Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson steal spotlight at Cannes
In a late 2000s' pop culture crossover we never knew we needed, the Hunger Games leading lady and Twilight actor have graced the iconic film festival on the French Riviera to premiere their new thriller, Die, My Love.
The pair have become prime internet fodder thanks to their exploding 'chemistry' amid their flurry of press opportunities, with fans dubbing them 'Award season's new favourite duo'.
Lawrence, 34, walked the Palais des Festivals red carpet in an exquisite white strapless ballgown at the weekend arm-in-arm with Pattinson, 39.
At one point, Pattinson helped his co-star fan out her lengthy train, the pair giggling and chatting to one another as they posed for the swarm of photographers.
Inside the theatre as the pair enjoyed a standing ovation following the film premiere, Lawrence was caught on camera giving the finger to Pattinson, before they broke out in laughter and hugged each other.
In various interviews, Pattinson has won hearts with his adorable comments about Lawrence.
During their chat at the Cannes press conference, the pair both discussed how becoming parents had helped them creatively. Lawrence shares two young children with her husband Cooke Maroney, while Pattinson welcomed his first child with Suki Waterhouse in March last year.
'Having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration,' Pattinson said.
'You get energy?!' Lawrence asked her co-star.
Pattinson responded, laughing, 'This question is impossible for a guy to answer correctly! What Jennifer said, I'm here just to support!'

Fans have flooded X with dozens of supportive comments over their casting together.
'me liking and retweeting every single tweet about jennifer lawrence and robert pattinson in cannes,' one wrote.
'Hollywood's new favourite duo,' another said.
'Why are they so wholesome,' a third wrote.
'THE CHEMISTRY,' a fourth chimed in.
'2014 me is losing it over the fact that Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson are in a movie together,' another said.
While their relationship is certainly lighthearted off-screen, Lawrence and Pattinson's Die, My Love is a heavy, psychological drama exploring themes including post-partum depression and psychosis.
Lawrence plays Grace, a new mother living on a farm in Montana, while Pattinson plays her husband Jackson.
Shortly after giving birth to the couple's first child, Grace begins to exhibit strange behaviour as she slowly succumbs to post-partum depression and, ultimately, enters psychosis.
The film, based on the 2017 book by Ariana Harwicz and directed by Lynne Ramsay, is produced by Lawrence's production company Excellent Cadaver.

A-list actor and much younger model girlfriend strip off in St Tropez
Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio has been spotted holidaying on a yacht in St Tropez with his Italian model girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti. DiCaprio, 50, and Ceretti, 27, stripped off to enjoy the sunshine, as shown in these candid photos. They were seen at sea among a close group of friends including Italian businessman Tommaso Buti. The pair have been dating for at least the past couple of years – back in September 2023, they were spotted making out in a dark Ibiza club at 4.30am. While they've largely stayed silent about their 23-year age-gap romance, Ceretti did give some rare insight into dating one of the world's most famous actors in a recent interview with Vogue France. When asked if she believes there's a 'risk' in being labelled DiCaprio's 'girlfriend,' she replied, 'Yes.' 'As soon as you're in a relationship with someone who has a larger following than you, you become 'girlfriend of' – or 'boyfriend of,' for that matter. And that can be extremely annoying,' she told the mag. 'Suddenly, people are talking about you as so-and-so's girlfriend who was so-and-so's ex. So, it's not nice to think that you can't love whoever you want, because of the labels people need to stick on you.' While being a public figure comes with its perks, it also has its drawbacks. She revealed what it's like having ties with 'one of the most desired people in the world.' 'It's something you learn. If what you're experiencing is real, if you know you love each other, then there's no reason to be alarmed. Because love protects and gives confidence,' she remarked. In the same interview, Ceretti said she 'preferred not to go into details' about when she first met the famous actor, who has had a string of twenty-something girlfriends throughout his career. DiCaprio's famous exes include models such as Camila Morrone, Gigi Hadid, Gisele Bündchen, Bar Refaeli, Nina Agdal and more. Meanwhile, Ceretti married DJ Matteo Milleri in 2020. They split three years later.

French town withdraws pop festival funding over Kneecap appearance
A town that hosts one of France's biggest pop festivals announced Wednesday that it was withdrawing its subsidy to the event because controversial Irish rappers Kneecap had been booked to play. British police are investigating Kneecap's lead singer under a terror offence after he was accused of displaying a Hezbollah flag at a concert last year. The Lebanese militant group is banned in Britain. Police said they are also investigating videos allegedly showing calls for the death of British lawmakers. The Paris suburb of Saint Cloud approved a 40,000 euro ($46,500) subsidy this year for the Rock En Seine festival that last year attracted 180,000 people over four days. The town council said the money had been agreed before the lineup was announced. Kneecap are to appear at the event on August 24. Saint Cloud said its council had now voted to withdraw the subsidy. A statement said the town "finances, within its means, a cultural and artistic project. On the other hand it does not finance political action, nor demands, and even less calls to violence, such as calls to kill lawmakers, whatever their nationality." The town said it respects the festival's "freedom" to decide its lineup and had not sought "any kind of negotiation with the aim of influencing the programme". Kneecap have been taken off the bill for festivals in Scotland and Germany this year because of the controversy. The group have said they are commited to the Palestinian cause but have denied any terrorism connection. Singer Liam O'Hanna, who appears under the name Mo Chara, has condemned the charges against him as political. O'Hanna is to appear in court again four days before the Rock En Seine show.
