PAGASA: Rains to persist due to trough of TS Bising, Habagat

Rains are expected to persist in most parts of the country due to the trough of Tropical Storm Bising (international name: Danas) and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, PAGASA said on Saturday afternoon.
As of 4 p.m., Bising remains outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and was last seen at 445 kilometers west of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustiness of up to 105 kph.
The trough of the Tropical Storm may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
Danas is anticipated to intensify into a Severe Tropical Storm within the next 24 hours and may briefly re-enter PAR by Monday.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon may also cause occasional rains over Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan, and cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Mindanao, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Western Visayas.
It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region and the rest of Visayas.
Possible flash floods or landslides may occur in some areas as a result of said weather conditions.
Moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough seas may be expected over Northern Luzon and the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon, while the rest of the country will be having light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
Temperatures in the country will range from a minimum of 25.7°C to a maximum of 29.0°C over the next 24 hours.

PAGASA: Heavy rains expected over Ilocos region

PAGASA on Monday issued a heavy rainfall outlook for Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). Based on its 11 p.m. weather advisory, the state weather bureau said 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall should be expected in Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur in the next 24 hours. 'Localized flooding is possible mainly in areas that are urbanized, low lying, or near rivers. Landslide possible in highly susceptible areas,' state meteorologists said. PAGASA also urged the public and disaster risk reduction and management agencies in affected areas to take all essential safety precautions 'Forecast rainfall maybe higher in mountainous and elevated areas. In its 5 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said occasional rains may be experienced over Ilocos Region due to habagat. Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms were forecast over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Negros Island, Zamboanga Peninsula, and BARMM region. The rest of the country may experience partly cloud to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. PAGASA said moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough waters are forecast over the seaboards of extreme northern Luzon and the western sections of Central Luzon and the rest of nothern Luzon.
